I think they're only going to monitor people they suspect to be terrorists. IMO, they can't monitor all phone calls, internets, etc.

it's boiling a frog (I explained that in another post) exepet int quite as slowly their just doing it when nobody will care take away one cival liberty now and slowly take away more. the only way to stop this is to not let them take away anything from us and the only way to do that is to vote for someone who won't take them away so the oportunity only comes around every four years.

they can monitor anyone they want whenever they want however they want. if they monitored every person capable of being a terrorist they could monitor every person in the country and if they don't do that then they're going to racial profile and we all know thats a great idea.

listen, americans are being monitered all the time. from when you are in elementary school, people watch and take note of what you do. It is for the safety of the people, and in Bush's case, he seems to be pretty justified and all. And as for his stand on the global warming and environmental issues, drilling for oil in the artic and in the Gulf of Mexico doesnt seem to be such a good idea, what with all the crap that people have already done with the environment. Why were all the oil wells in Texas capped, is what I'd like to know.
