What type of issues will be addressed in OW4?

I think in the next game we are going to see a race of beings who exist at a more deeper level on the food chain than that of Abe or Munch.

For example we know that the game will be concurrent with the quintology so that means it will be happening at the same time but somewhere else but just as important as Munches story that will eventually lead to Abe and Munch somehow.

Maybe there are some lower lifeforms who are going through certain issues in life that like Abe and Munch a member of that lower race of beings decides to fix the problem in their own strange way? Like maybe the race is being killed off do to the pollution on Oddworld and without these little guys the bigger guys like Mudokins, Glukkons etc can't exist. Sort of like Plankton in how they provide oxygen for us. I would like to see relationships with the inhabitants of Oddworld that if one dies the other can't exist. Which relates to the phrase "be forwarned for all the inhabitants live on Oddworld together. and characters that were over looked may prove very important in the big picture" I am beginning to see that all the races even the industrial world are all some how strangely connected to form a web of biological diversity that is being threaten by one of those connections and that is industrial world.

So basically it will be like a mini oddyssey takeing place at the same time of Munch to help in the good of Oddworld but just as important. Thats my theroy on possiable issues in the next game. And since Munch was about enviorment changeing this could go well as a connection to that idea. What ideas do you think the issues would be in OW4?

I'd love to see the Animal Exploitation theme MO was meant to have more empathised.

However, we won't know for quite some time until OWI return. And perhaps feed us with some juicy information!

I hope we'll see it from the Industrialists point of view. Cos technically Abe and Munch are terrorists and so hopefully we will see it from the point of view of the 'Land Muggers' and see the panic of them if they are nowhere near meeting their quota. I would also like to see an Industrialist thats lower than Glukkons yet higher than Sligs. Maybe some kind of creature that runs errands for the Glukkons and such like, but when they dont meet up to the Gluks expectations they get beaten or killed or something. And so the story takes place with one of these creatures doing something...to...erm...get revenge...i dunno...just something like that. An Industrialise thats still 'evil' but just a different kind of 'evil'.

I say evil in those lil' thingies cos basically they aint evil, they're just trying to get by whatever way they can.

Happy the issue:

Unfair treatment of boats and the cargo they carry.

Well, treatment of animals and possibly machines. Haha, sounds pretty stupid. But what if it was about a shrink that somehow escapes? I mean, their programming is so complex that it allows them to develop a personality and curiosity. And they appear to pity themselves a lot. So perhaps...

Khanz is right, its all about the boats! Aside from that, I would really like to see a symbiotic (is this the right word?) relationship between two Inhabitants like PA kinda mentioned above, something like the Fleeches and Slurgs relationship. They work together in order to catch prey (i.e- the Slurgs alert the sleeping fleeches of prey and the fleeches catch it, eat it, then give the left overs to the Slurgs.)

This is an idea for a game, not an issue to be dealt with. If you think back to the games you will see the issues of them, slaves etc.

I would like war, and all the other stuff that's related as massive destruction camps (like the nazi's did)...
that would be intresting

HA HA.....funny old world....jsut been talking about this in another thread (shrinks escaping etc)

I think the next one should involve shrinks too, but xavs idea of war sounds good too.
just think.....full on warfare, with abe as the figure head of the 'natives', battling against the technology of the gluks.
could almost do a strategy game, moving whole battalions of tomahawkers into place, to attack sligs on chariots pulled by slogs.

wonder who would win?
would there be anything left to win...total war = total destruction

I'm glad you like my idea TheBigRaisin.
but I want show the horrible aspect of the war, not only the strategic one...
I want to:
Show the scientific ressearch to find a faster and cleaner way to kill them
Show the mind of a Man/mud before his execution
Show that the prisoners wher lower then animals
Show the deshumanisation (demudokination )
Show the real life that the soldiers have
Show the pain to the families
Show the carnages
Show the torture
Show the blood
show the death

Show the reality of war

Xav,
On these points I also agree.
War is an uneccessary aspect of the human mind.
Its something we will never rid ourselves of....the whole Abe universe is so like the native american plight that its almost plagirism (if one can plagarise history)

Heres a thought.......
What would Abes version of the Trail of Tears be
.....Trail of Tears was a very dark part of american history, where the 'good guys' marched a whole native american nation across america, to 'relocate' them for their 'own good'.
Most didnt survive.

I think that most cultures that have experienced opression of whatever kind will see something in Oddworld that they can relate to.

Good point TBR, I think it would be an interesting thing if near the end of the Quintology all the hero's get split up and you get to see Abe (with the other muds) being made to go on an Oddworldish version of the trail of tears.

I like your idea Xav, the whole bleak dark game would be nice after the happy go lucky munchs oddysee.when I look for a game, I want somthing that makes you think, not just play.
As they say, history is written by those who hang heros, not the heros themselves.
