I reloaded my guns and slipped them back into my jacket. I started to walk down the corridor, a group of thugs pushed past me, shotguns at the ready. One called back to me, asking if I saw who did it, "No, I just got here, there was this short guy with dark hair running away from here though" He nodded and the group ran outside.
I walked up to a room with two guards outside. "Nick in?" I asked the one on the right. He asked my name and details, I told him that I was Lars Gravesend, an old rival of mine, if the details got out, he'd take the rap. I was told to go in, there was a short fat man with a cigar sitting behind a desk, in the corner stood a guard leaning out the window, with a shotgun beside him. another guard stood on his right, with a loaded magnum.
Nick asked why I'd come to see him, and I bullshitted some story about being after a favour. I asked him to get a trusted group of men to deliver a message. He asked what he'd get in return, I opened my jacket to reveal my guns, making the guards leap to attention, and grab a hold of their guns. "Relax" I told them, "I persuade people" He accept the offer. I scribbled the note "Jack, nearly there" I told the guard to deliver it to my apartment, if there was no answer, just wait for someone to go in there. The guard grabbed one of the guards from outside and set off.
So then it was just me, Nick, one guard inside, and one outside. I told Nicky that I'd be right back, I stepped outside and lit up a cigerette. I offered one to the guard by the door. He took the cigerette and then I offered the lighter with my left hand, when he lent in to light up I swiftly knocked him out with a blow to the back of the head. I tossed the body into a store cupboard. I then walked back into Nick's office, guns out. I cuaght them both by suprise. I kept the revolver trained on Nick, and the Beretta on the guard. "Ok, Nick and I are going to have a chat now... I wouldn't try anything either of you, wait I'd better make sure of that." I shot the guard's leg, sending him to the floor, I shot him again in the back.
Nick asked what I wanted, I told him. Him out of town, or him in a bodbag, either'd suit me. I kept my revolver pointed at him, while I walked backwards, locked the door and then walked up to Nick. I put my Beretta away and drew my knife. I slipped it around his neck."If you're not gone by dusk tommorow, I'll finish the job, understand?" He nodded. "And if anyone asks why you're leaving, you'll say that you needed some room to spread your wings, see?" He nodded again. I opened his draw, took the pistol from it, pocketed it, and then threw the wounded guards shotgun out the window. There was a knock at the door. The messenger was back. There was no other choice, I went back to Nick and put my gun to his head.
