Did you hear about these people? They belong to some out of states cult that believe humans were cloned by aliens. They claim to have cloned a human and are flying it in to Florida to have it tested! Why aren't people pissed about this? Our government banned cloning unanimously! I want these immoral,godless cloning freaks outta my yard! Fuck them! And the demented clone horses they rode in on!

What's wrong with cloning?... that's what I ask. Granted -- it could be used for both good and bad reasons, however, the postives outnumber the negatives enough to try it out... but this theory that they've cloned a human and we arrived here from aliens and such is all stupid; I mean really -- how stupid do they think we are? As for cloning, I'm all for it.

I am personally, against human cloning....it just creates more "people"......to inhabit the Earth.....not that I'm saying, " Save The Whales! " or anything....it's just that, if we clone, we should clone something useful. Like sharks, cows, or sheep. ( and for those of you that have never had shark meat, it's really good! )

But if you cloned animals, you'd have to have a limit to the number of clones you cloned from a single animal. In that case, then you'd have to capture a lot more different animal individuals to clone. Cause, the less the variety is in the gene pool, then, the more vulnerable they are to a disease(like genetic diseases). I don't know if it is true, but it's called the Assymetry theory.

I think it is wrong to clone humans as well. For my own reasons.

However, what I really am cheesed off about is the way you all are acting towards another religion. They have their own ideals, they believe that humans were cloned by aliens. Christians believe that God created the universe and humans. Theses are both outrageous claims, but yet you choose to believe one. Every religion is different, and every one is different.

By mocking and laughing like you are in a mob-mentality you are only proving to me that you do not truly understand what you are talking about, and are following the crowd which usually symbolises fear.

And, a very famous saying which holds enourmous truth:

You fear what you don't understand

Now, I'm not saying that they are wrong. I'm not saying they are right. Learn the facts, act on your OWN and make your OWN decisions. It's very easy to tell when someone hasn't got the facts and are acting on shear fear.

I am strongly against the cloning of humans. It mainly has a lot of complications with my Catholic background. I dont want to get into it a lot, because it will turn into a religious debate next. But primarily I dont think anyone should be playing god, having the ability to create clones, and create perfect humans also.

What I think cloning technology should be used for is this may be something some of you may not agree upon but, the ability to clone organs. Not human beings, and to just take them from a living person, because that is even worse than cloning itself. We have the ability to just clone human organs, and this could be used to save many lives of people who need organ transplants, and everyone knows how large the donors lists for so many different types of organs in the U.S. is alone. So this could be used in a positive way though. To help out those people who seriously need different transplants.

So I stand not to use cloning technology to create clones of humans, but to create cloned human organs and such from the original person who needs that transplant, so if someone needed a new liver, scientists could clone from tissue of the original donor and save that person giving them an exact replica from cloning of their liver. I feel that would be a great way for this technology instead of its purpose at the current time.

When it comes to cloning their are some basic categories people fall in.

The Ignorant-They know nothing about the science involved in cloning. All they know is from movies and tabloids. People in this category are the ones who are scared that someone is going to clone a race of superhuman Hitler's to rule the take over the world. Sorry to break it to you guys, but not only is it improbable but it also wouldn't work even if it was tried. The other type of ingorant person is the one who thinks that cloning is possible today. They don't think it is really a big issue.

The Pro Cloners-These people don't really care about any of the moral issues but they are informed in them and they understand the science involved in cloning to various extents. They know the potential benefits and that it is what really matters to them. Another type in this category are scientintists who don't even really care about potential benefits. They just want to prove that it can be done.

The Anti Cloners-These are either people who just don't understand the point of cloning or ones whobelieve that it is morally wrong. Both types can understand the science and moral issues just as well as the pro-cloners, but have just reached a different conclusion.

Personally, i think that cloning should be used, but only in very controlled situations....if for example, labs could clone individual parts, it could help people who need organ transplants.(who knows...maybe in the near future?)
This has its problems though.....who decides the guide lines, then who enforces them?

One of the things that the free world prides itself on is the freedom of speech. EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion, whatever that opinion is.
If the opinion is offensive or racist/sexist or any other 'ist then the person who made the statment should be prepared for an onslaught of other peoples opinions.
This doesnt mean that one opinion is better or more correct than any other.

(PS.......I do think that the riailians are headed for the straight jacket, and i dont believe that they have made a human clone!)

What I think he meant is similar to what I said. You dont have to clone entire human bodies. You can take cell tissue from a person lets say who needs a transplant, and clone organs alone. That way the donor has an exact clone of their original lets say liver, and its healthy once it is developed. I know thats what I meant. If they were to just clone a person and do that that would be just wrong disgusting. And just disturbing. But we do have the technology as stated to Clone/harvest organs without cloning a whole human to do it. And this would be a great way to save lives of people in need of organ transplants. As long as it was monitored and done correctly.

Wow, it appears that I've missed this topic for quiet some time. I would have posted in it earlier if I had noticed it.

Anyways, to the topic. I belive that cloning is a great thing, but should only be used for usefull perposess only. Such as cloning a liver or other appendage that can be stored for future usess and for a safe supply. However I belive that there is no point in cloning humans. We must think of how the clone itself would feel, it would be brought into this world and it would realize that it wasn't ment to even be there. No real parents, no individualality, etc. I know Im blabbering on at the moment but I am really tired at the moment and am sorry if I don't state any good points.
