Buried, Burnt Or Frozen

Have you thought about it? What would you like to happen to your body after you have pasted on? I'd have to go with the old fashion way, getting buried, i don't like the idea of My body being burnt, i think it shows disrespect to something thatg has served you, your whole life, but then again that's me, and frozen is to wierd i don't think i like the idea of my body not decaying, plus it's real expensive.

Hm... I think I'd like to have one of those "Green burials", where they use a cardboard coffin and plant a tree for a "headstone"... I don't know why, perhaps it's the idea of putting something back into the earth...

I choose none of the above. I want to live forever, but if I had to choose one it would be cremation. I disagree on your logic that cremation would be disrespectful, if anything it would be the most kind. I'm not fond of the idea of my body slowly festering away while six feet under, not that it would really matter to me then. Get it all over and done with in a few minutes.

Being frozen destroys the cells of the body, so before I die I want to be placed in suspended animation. Slow my metabolism down or something. Then I can be revived in a few million years when there's a cure for death!

I'd want to be frozen because I could wake up in the future.

I abhor the idea of taking up space after I'm dead, so I definitely don't want to be buried.

I used to wish for my ashes to be scattered around my beloved Fenway Park (a professional baseball stadium which opened in April of 1912; the news of its opening was overshadowed by the sinking of the Titanic). However, I don't think that's going to be a reality, so I would like my ashes to be placed in a wide, shallow, plastic tub attached to the roof of the lead car of a vehicle procession so my ashes will just blow all over as my family and friends drive to the local bar for a few beers.

Sydney: It's always been clear to me that freezing destroys cells -- frostbite is an obvious example. I've always been curious as to how they can freeze sperm and eggs and just thaw them out and use them whenever. Obviously they're different from other cells of the body, but one would think that they're just as delicate. Do you know anything about that?

I think they're treated with something to stop it being destroyed but I'm not sure.

I don't really care what happens to my body but I wouldn't mind my body being used for organ donations, medical research or fertiliser.
I'm glad the organ donation laws are changing because I just can't be bothered carrying a donor card around with me at all times. I'd put one in my wallet if I went to the clinic and I remembered to get one.

I would like to be cremated. I don't know what I want doing with my ashes yet, but I probably have plenty of time to decide...

Frogs have a natural anti-freeze in their cells to prevent ice crystals from forming, which is how frogs can actually survive freezing when they hibernate. I think a similar technique is used with Sperms and Eggs.

I vaguely remember hearing that when eggs are frozen, the water from them is removed and replaced with another liquid that stops ice from forming inside the egg. I think the temperature is lowered extremely slowly for further protection.

Danny: I once wanted my ashes to be mixed in with my cat's food, that was until I realised I'd be turned into faeces.

Ahh, but don't you want to be a part of the Cycle of Life...?

I am cotemplating being cremated with the background music of 'Burn, baby burn'

Which would be quite enlightning.

lunched up into space, out of the three i would chose burnt, frozen makes cells turn into ice and if they bring you back you would be all smashed up inside

Hey, being a natural fertilizer isn't all bad. Although cat sh*t . . . can't really argue with you there. The only nastier substance that I can think of is dog sh*t.

Burnt. Burnt for sure. Frozen is so Austin Pwers and that movie sucked. By the time I go, there'll be no room in the ground. Plus, I don't want to be dug up and have my grave robbed by vicious ghouls! Back! Back I say!
