Abe's Exoddus and Win XP - Help!

Does anyone know how to get Abe's Exoddus to run on Win XP?
When I try to run it in normal mode, a window pops up saying that the program will not run on Win XP. When i use compatible mode the Sending an error report window pops up. I have been told that Abe's Exoddus will run on Win NT, so what is the problen with Win XP?

Pilot is a moderator, active on the forums, and technically savvy, so he might be able to help further. Are you sure your DirectX is up to date, though?

This is somewhat a difficult question to answer, for it is not whether AE will run on WinXPro, but whether or not WinXPro will decide to run it. See, for the new operating system, Microsoft conned everybody into having to buy all new peripherals for XP. It's not really that different of an OS engine from Win2000, but they decided they could make more money buy fixing it so that you had to buy more keyboards, printers, and joysticks for the new system. Most games will not work very well on XP if they are made for 9x, which is like trying to play a 3.x game on 9x. It'll probably work, but it just won't run very well, so you can try it, but I can't guarantee it.
