Munch's Oddysee could have been better?

Is it just me, or do others think MO could have been better than it was? I mean, it's incredible and all, but I would like to point out that the Gamespeak effort was lacking severely. I mean, AO was set apart from any other video game because it had in game communication and used it cleverly to create an action packed, interactive graphic masterpiece. Then AE took Gamespeak further and created more action from it with sligs commanding slogs more often and glukkons commanding sligs and voice locked security, mudokon emotions etc. But in MO, only Munch and Abe command things around and the other possessable characters don't say all those things like in AE. I'd like to see all that classic charisma brought back for ME. It seems a waste of an ingenious and unique program code.
Also, I wish OWI kept their original story, with Abe kidnapping Munch when he has a broken leg, including meetles and mugs and introducing a couple of the queens instead of just Maggie in the bad ending.
Don't get me wrong, I love the game, it's just it was built up to be something more. After two and a half years of developing it, I wish we got what was promised. Hopefully we will in ME.
What do you guys think?

A good response from a true fan. Though they did a pretty damn good job their first time in the 3D world. ALways look towards the horizon because tommorrow will be better...

Thanks for the compliments Al. I agree they did the 3D effort brilliantly for their first attempt. It truly is an incredible game to behold. I heard ages ago that OWI want to explore other graphical methods instead of real time 3D polygons for future games, known as rendered layering. I guess SO and the games after that will be a real treat. But maybe ME will be the artificial intelligence of AE meets the 3D world of MO. Let's hope so!

yes well said I totaly agree but as we all know it was only in development for the x box for a year so it was rushed but I can tell you that whith the time zthey need and the xbox ME s going to be mind boggalingly unexplainable. And just to tell you something extra to think about they had already been making Mo for the PS2 for about 14 months and they were not finished so think what they will do whith xbox whith that much time
WOW the time has come for OWI Im tellin you, the time has come.

I thought MO was a good game, just not a great Oddworld game: in other words, if it hadn't been Oddworld and i didn't have such high expectations, it wudda been great. anyway ME is gonna be an awesome game. A groin grabbingly awesome game!

Another thing, did anybody notice that the puzzle elements of MO are a little... dumbed down, even, sometimes? I mean, yeah, there are some infuriating parts that involve aqua bounce and head zappy power, but nothing as strategically mind boggling as in AO or AE. If I could suggest one thing for ME (Other than, yeah, bring back more involved Gamespeak) it would be to reintroduce secrets and timing puzzles. The timing element was huge in the first two, but is almost completely absent from MO. Perhaps it's an unavoidable casualty of the transition to 3D, I don't know. Plus, come on, one hit is supposed to kill you! Fine, arm the mudokens, but avoiding being seen was the entire challenge of AO and AE.
Of course, AE fixed absolutley everything wrong with AO (QUIKSAVE! THE GREATEST GAME DEVELOPMENT EVER! DEAR SWEET ODD, THE WONDER OF QUIKSAVE!), so maybe ME will be all our wildest dreams and more.
And I STILL think it would be absolutely amazing to possess the Gluk queen or Skillya
