Other Games

Just curious (and I'm certain this has been posted before at some stage, but I haven't seen it), what other games do you like apart from Oddworld?

Abe's Oddysee was one of my first games... and I love it for the world it immerses you in, and the puzzles... but dexterity games aren't really my forte :P *laugh* Some of my other favourite games are Myst, Gabriel Knight, The 7th Guest and 11th Hour, Heroes of Might and Magic and the Zork series. I'm a game buff, I admit. *laugh*

Anyway, what other games do you guys like to play?

Today I are bin mostly playing Advance Wars. I've just completed the Field Training with mostly As.

My favourite games would have to be:
- Halo
- MO (finished it on good and bad endings)
- JSRF (completed but no hidden characters YET)
- DoA3
- WipEout 3: Special Edition (I've got gold on all Vector, most of Venom and a few on Rapier)
- Spyro 3 (got the first ending but I missed out on the eggs in the speedways because of that fekkin' bug)
- Advance Wars

Heheheeh....

- Baldur's Gate (one of the BEST RPG's I've ever tried!)
- Icewind Dale (It's from the same company that did BG)
- Warcraft 2
- Starcraft & Brood War (the expansion set)
- Diablo 2 + expansion
- The sims + House Party
- Warlords Battlecry 2 (a mix between strategy and RPG. I HATE the barbarians here though)

Well, now I have to go away and kill something... *eye starts twitching*

Well other then AO and AE I like:
(This is in no order)
~ Spyro 1 and 2. Spyro 3 was okay but not as good as 1 or 2.
~ The Crash games, except for Crash Bash.
~ Oh stuff it. I can't be stuffed thinking of all the games I have and like because I am tried and I did nothing at school today because it was the last day so really I shouldn't be tried but I am! (that's not a name of a game BTW)

In no order:

- The Spyro series (3 has the best gameplay, but I like 1 and 2 better... 1 has the best atmosphere and 2 has a better reward system, in my opinion)
- The WipEout series (I own them all except for the N64 spin-off, but I don't think I'll get it because I've heard that it's mostly a remake of the first two PSX games, but with the tracks mirrored)
- Hogs Of War
- The Crash series (except 3 and Crash Bash. I don't own 4 but I want to get it; I rented it and it's ace)
- Music 2000
- SSX Tricky
- Jak & Daxter
- soul Reaver 2
- Zone Of The Enders
- Sky Odyssey
- Pokemon (red & silver)

I got Gun Valkyrie today and I am now adding it to my list. Great gameplay but I'd like to uninvert the looking stick. It's damn annoying trying to target insectoids when I keep looking too far up...

Not in order...

- Sonic the Hedgehog, Adventure, Advance...
- Halo
- JSRF (with all of the secret charatcers, I might add. )
- FF7
- Zelda
- Myst 1 and 3, Riven
- Shivers 1 and 2
- Silent Hill 2

Notice that "Morrowind" is not on my list. This is no mistake...

The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind for XBOX is by far the biggest game I have ever played. The immersion factor is up 11 out of 10 with it's amazing weather effects and architecture. Nearly everything you see you can interact with or pick up. The world is populated with over 1,500 NPC's. The poly count is very large, the fog does not effect the game. The most rewarding thing I've seen so far is the towering Ghost Fence keeping in the demons of Dagoth Ur. I am only about 40% into the game and I seem to still have over 100 hours of gameplay left. The only thing I dislike about the game is that it is destroying my social life...

Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, but I think it's boring. This is just my opinion, but to me, it just isn't fun to play. I joined all of these guilds, made some spells, and stole some stuff... but it just feels empty. I don't even have an urge to explore like I do in most other games. Oh, and the fighting is clunky.

Don't get me wrong... there is oodles of top-notch stuff in the game, but I just can't stay interested...

I like the Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid series. That's about it.

Understandable, the game is defanitely not for everyone. To really enjoy it you have a lot of time, patients, and are not easily overwhelmed by the massive size of the world.
