Favorite 'Scary' Movie(s)?

I guess it could be scifi horror as well.
I'd have to say my favorites would be
The Hills Have Eyes
The Thing (it's a lame name i know, but it's a kick ass movie just the same!)
the Exorcist
John Carpenters Vampires
i think it's called 'Dracula 2000' i won't give away the ending, but this is worth watching, for the funny moments that were apparently supposed to be scary, to the very cool ending.
And of course the dentist series, just because they make me giggle.

The Magog On The March (10)

Wahay! This topic I LIKE! I'm a huge horror movie junkie, and I gotta say the one that creeped me out the most was by far.. well, it wasn't even a movie. It was a website I found by random when I typed in some random stuff while surfing the web (as usual) and it brought me up to this INCREDIBLY disturbing website, ran by a few guys who apparently find pictures of little girls waiting to have their heads sewn into baskets while they hang on meat hooks erotic. Or maybe they just wanna frighten random web viewers like me. But whatever it was, it was by FAR the most disturbing thing I've ever seen.
Movie wise? Well, I've seen so many that now I've just kinda gotten used to it all.. OH! I KNOW! DEFINATLY THE WICKER MAN! GOD THAT MOVIE WAS CREEPY! (If you haven't seen it, go out and try to find it!)

Movies don't really scare me alot so I don't really know any besides I hardly watch horror movies I like comedy movies better. One that was a bit annoying was Robo Cop (It's soooo old) where the guy got soaked by acid.

Abe22, it makes me wonder..if you don't like horror movies, why bother posting>?
this might sound a bit mean and i'm sorry, i just don't see the point.
now maybe if the topic was "who likes comedies and robocop?"
i could understand, lol

no offense by the way

I doubt that anyone here will have seen it, but The Last Broadcast is a mint film. If you get the chance, watch it. It's not scary in a blood and guts way, but in a psychological way. That fact that up until the last ten minutes you're not sure whether it's a documentary or whether it's made up only adds the the creepiness...

Lol, I saw that one on HBO while flipping through the channels and was completely engrossed in it... but I think I might be getting confused with another one. Is that the one that's sort of like the Blair Witch Project, but more documentary style, and at the end it just goes kinda haywire and gets really weird?
Edit: Of course I've seen The Thing! It's a classic! Have you seen the screen shots of the game on it (I think it's for xbox e_e)? It looks freak-eh, despite the fact that whenever I mention it everyone seems to think it's a retarded movie for having a name like The Thing. What would they prefer, The Big Giant, Blob of Mass Thingy? Oh well.

Yes, that sounds like it. It's the film that the Blair Witch Project was ripped off of, except that it is a far superior movie...

Pet Cemetary got weird at the end also (That guy's logic completely baffles me.."Let's see, my kid that I just brought back from the dead tries to kill me and I finally kill it. Hmm.. I'll go raise my wife!") Plus that stupid song on the credits is STILL STUCK IN MY HEAD after god knows how many years since I've seen that. (I don't wanna be buried.. AH! OUT! OOOOOUUUUT!)
Yeah, there's a The Thing video game in the making (still dunno which system.. but I think it was xbox) and the Evil Dead game was horrible.
Good luck finding Last Broadcast, I was lucky enough just to see it on HBO!

I cant beleive no one sed Hellraiser! is pinhead not the creepiest ****er this side of Hades?! and, yes hellraiser is another kick-ass horror movie. im more into the psychological thrill of a movie than the gore. id play silent hill over resident evil any day! and what about the Shining? that beats all other Stephan King movies in the ass ten times over! and did anyone by chance see the Silence of the Lambs? (NOT THE SHITTY SEQUEL) it was a bit mystery, but it was still a kick ass horror movie! as for scifi horror, i really like alien and alien 3. i could probably think of some better ones, but ive written enough.

Actually from what I've heard the Thing game is supposed to be pretty good.. But anywho, I do agree The Shining is the best Stephan King movie.. oh, the only other one I liked was this weird one I saw on Sci Fi channel that I only really liked because the guy who played Al from Quantom Leap was one of the characters
Anyone ever seen the Cube? I liked that movie

I don't really know if Alien is a horror/plain scary movie, but I liked those movies. Do I have to bother and say that Alien 2 is the best? Anyway, I guess that it isn't a "scary" movie, so I'll just go watch cartoons instead...

you know alcar, alice in wonderland gives me the creeps....
now i'm straying off topic here (i know, big surprise..) anyway....
the shining movie was crap compared to the book...i personally like the tommyknockers, and IT.
you're right, Alien2 was the best..the bull aliens kicked ass!
the hellraiser movies did creep me out a bit..i didn't think pinhead was SCARY it was just the whole idea behind the movies....
and for all you Stephen king fans out there, go pick up the gunslinger series..he only has four out right now, but i hear he's finishing the series...

Yeah, I know, but it had AL in it! Al! Even though his acting was kinda cheesy as well.. oh well. Did I mention I'm also a fan of B-horror movies? (The best being any of Ed Wood's films)

well, i got to agree with that other guy...... aliens (the second one) has got to be the coolest, not really the scariest... if anyones seen virus thats not really scary but more of wierd..... i dont know, but o god pet cemetary 1 & 2....... those are wierd... yes that guys logic is stupid... he thinks its a good idea to turn his dead wife into an evil zombie... yea, the childs paly ones are okay.... #3 was pretty stupid though.... Jason ones are okay.... never seen nightmare on elm street.... but those ghost shows on tv are cool... real cool... even though there not movies.... if you wanna see some stupid scary stuff thats not scary watch like are you afraid of the dark, wait thats out of production..... a better idea, watch gremlins and surround your room with furbys. i gotta try that....

Heh, I liked Gremlins. Nothing beats seeing an old lady being rocketed out of the window Plus, it had the immortal Judge Reinhold in it (a normally pretty crappy actor..he's in a ton of movies, but he was in Clerks: The Animated Series and was hilarious.. heh)
