Okay..
1) Usually, Xbox's freeze up because of the fact that the one's that did were the first shipment... it seems like xbox is getting a lot worse press with the freeze ups then the ps2 did. There were thousands of ps2's that froze (a large percent, considering how they purposly kept the number of ps2's out on the market at the time low) So overall, just don't leave it on for long periods of time (I hate people who complain about their system freezing, even though they left it on for 2 days while they were out at a friends house) and make sure the air vents are not blocked.
2) Halo is COMPLETELY worth it. Trust me, if you vaguely like First Person Shooters, you'll LOVE this game. (especially the Co-op)
3) Oddworld is worth it too, if you like to replay games that are fun that you've beaten. If you're the type that once you beat games, you never play 'em again, you might be safer with a different game.
4) I haven't played DOA3 yet e_e
