I think it all depends on what games you want to play...

I might be wrong but this is the impression I got from all the "tech" reviews I've read: Basically the GameCube is 'faster' but the X-Box can handle 'more' graphics, something like that.

I remember having a conflict with myself about which to get.
Xbox: MO, Jet set Radio
Gamecube: Zelda, Rogue Leader
I couldn't decide which series to abandon...

In the end the DVD and soundtrack features of the Xbox won me over.

So far, I haven't seen anyone actually fighting over the consoles in this topic. In fact, Im the only one who has answered Odd_Girl's question.As soon as the poo flinging begins, then things get out of hand.
