Could there be a remake of Munch in the works like they are doing with Stranger

You think we will see a remake of Munch before any new game or bonus game comes out? I hope so because we can finally see how Munch was suppose to be like before they destroyed it.

Maybe.

Sucks that I got the ylod so I can't play these games anymore, nor can I improve my speedthrough times. I thought JAW already said they would release 5 more games from the old systems though?

Where did you hear that?

Anyway, I hope not, I personally just hope they remake the first two games and make another game like the first two. Then I can die happy.

That article is misleading/wrong. The SW remastering is one of those five projects.

A Munch's remaster would be unlikely, partly because its game engine uses middleware, partly because it doesn't have the high review scores of Stranger to justify it. And partly because it's just not a game worth remastering.

A frank translation: It's a bit shit.

I think PA was suggesting something a bit more than a remastering; a full remake that included everything taken out of MO.

I suspect that it isn't on the cards right now. I also suspect that if it were to happen, it would be made as ME rather than a ret-conned MO.

The thought of a Munch's Exoddus gives me goosebumps. That would be pretty epic.

ME would be a dream come true. But even better a new part of the Quintology, I'm just throwing out suggestions.

I love MO but I wouldn't give a flying fuck about playing it in HD, but if they feel they must to capture a broader audience...

I thought the graphics were pretty good at the time of the release, (2001 I think)
And, to this day, the graphics are exceptionally good and I wouldn't want them to remake it, but make a ME in HD. That would be nice

Well yeah of course HD is tghe big trend now and it is annoying to play non-HD games on an HD monitor so definitely make ME or w/e in HD.

Oh and I still think MO looks really nice, could've been more detailed though some of the environments looked rather bland. I'm not a graphics whore.

I really hope so. Munch's Oddysee is the game that needs re-making the most.

Yeah that article was a bit misleading... But it might also be onto something.

Fangus could possibly be one of the projects. It would make sense HD-ifying the assets and audio of Stranger and then using them in two games. The sequel could be released a little quicker and easier and at the same time it's bringing Oddworld back into the spotlight with a game that people are bound to like (or at least I would expect so, it's gameplay is still Odd enough to be different to your run of the mill miliatry shooter.) I dunno, it makes sense to me...

I think the original question was rather whether it was possible it might happen one day in the not-too-distant future, not whether you were working on it right now.

I guess that if everything goes great with SW, they might consider making a remake of munch but that would take much more work since they would have to get the middleware out or buy the rights to use it, plus all the extra levels they would have to create for the lost parts of the game. but it would be a nice bridge between the old games and anything new they may be planning. plus, it could actually help them make better future games.

Why don't you just go to their website, they tell you why.

Plus it costs money to re-make games, and the know that Strangers Wrath will pay itself off, ME eh... not so much. It was a good game, but it would have been better if production wasn't rushed the way it was.

Munch's Oddysee wasn't exactly a masterpiece like Stranger's Wrath. I can't really see the point of remastering it as a remastering would only update graphics and audio. The whole game would need to be re-done to have something faithfull to Lorne's original vision and a remake of MO sounds like a non profitable thing to do.
