universe

I wonder in which part of the universe Oddworld is. I also ask myself if there are any asteroids. Perhaps they could be a threat to Oddworld. ( poor abe) I think some time ago some of themcrashes into Oddworld.

I can remember someone on the old forums talking about this.

It's one of those things you can wonder about... like is Oddworld in our universe, or another universe, or another dimension, or in the future, or in the past??? The list can go on and on!!!

Abe Babe...

Well, I think that Oddworld is either in another part of the universe, far from ours, or another dimension. Asteroids? Most likely. It just makes sense to me.

i believe that odd world is in a parallel universe, surrounded by large and small asteroids, next to a red giant star, in a VERY, large solar system, approximately 75 planets in all much detail i know, but it's always fun to entertain the readers

akk! :s not only an Intern, but has the same pic as Rich too! this could get confusing...

someone official said that it was in a parallel universe, which was why there would never be any humans on oddworld.

as for asteroids - i expect all universes have asteroids. Oddworld certainly has a lot of moons, suggesting that it is quite a cluttered system... either that or they are other planets, very close...

i have a sneaking suspicion that Oddworld may have a binary star. don't ask me why, but something make me think that. either that or a read giant, as Joe said, although i think 75 may be a little excessive. maybe 11 or 12.

Even if a asteroid hit oddworld it would not be as bad as if one hit Earth. This is because the main enviromental effect from a asteroid is the winter that follows it from from dust particals that block the sun. Oddworld has a suface area 10 times the size of Earth so any winter that would resolt would be not as harsh, not as long and not as wide spread as on Earth. But unless the laws of physics is diferent in the Oddworld universe it would have a larger gravitational feild then Earth and atract more asteroids then Earth (and posibly other things like moons). But Oddworld would still probly be saffer then Earth to live on when it comes to asteroids. because the moons would act like shelds/barriers. To add to this large planets often attract lots of atmostphere, so a lot of the asterods would burn up in this thick layer.
But you must also remember that asteroids are not very common (at least not hear).

So, its not poor Abe when it comes to asteroids... its poor us.

PS... Ihave no Idear about Oddworlds sun.

i dont think 75 is too many. look at our own solar syatem. we have an asteroid belt with many more asteroids then 75. and it doesnt mean that they have to be in the immediate vicinity of oddworld either. considering that our asteroid belt is very far away.but you may be right. considering it is in a parallel universe. only the officials can answer these kinda questions. *sob sob*
