What's with the bulletproof thing? [AE]

I've just completed AE (PC Version) again with the Black/Super Bad/Worse/Whatever ending, and it says I get a bulletproof bonus in the ending message, however I'm still dying whenever a Slig shoots me. I've completed the game several times (Once with about 260 deaths, now with 276 (And aiming for more in my next run!) and a few times with 300 via my save editor).

Searching the forums reveled that I'm not the only one having this problem, however there are others who have received the bonus correctly.

Does anyone else have this issue? Have anyone with the PC version of AE succeeded in activating this bonus?

There is a known glitch that stops the bulletproof bonus from working in the PC version. It can't, to my knowledge, be avoided.

Oh poop.
Does anyone know if it was fixed in the newer Steam version? (Or if anything has actually changed in that version?)

Hmm, it was working for me. Also where have you been ;P

Anyway, I think I have a save lurking around somewhere that worked for me when I loaded it up and used it for bulletproof-ness. Ask if you need it.

Edit: I have noticed it coming on and off at odd times whenever I play, so it could be that you need to keep trying it.

Could you upload a save file? And can you also name a place where you had it working?
Thanks!

Still doesn't work. =\
I think it has something to do with some versions of the game EXE, seeing that it only works for some people. Would you mind privately sending me your exoddus.exe file on a PM? I've already bought the game, and the game itself can not but run with just the EXE by itself, so I think it should be fine.

Thanks!

I've done some testing with my save editor, and the minimum is 150 deaths if I remember correctly.

There are some that are quite difficult to kill though, as they were designed to be saved, not killed. (And you don't have any direct "access" to them, so you can't slap-kill them)

No you can kill around about 280 Muds.

Is there a cheat were you can put on Bulletproof without killing all Mudokons? or is that on Playstation only.

Yes, you can kill only about 280, but you only need to kill 150 to get the Black Ending (That's what I meant by minimum. )
And the cheat is PS only.

It's very easy to kill mudokuns, just make them deppressed enough to commit suicide or just slap them to death.

but some you cant slap like what LIJI said, unless you use DDcheat (i think thats what its called)

Also does anyone know if you can kill those mudokuns that give you the power to heal other mudokuns, that are located in soulstorm brewery in Abes Exodous... also why don't you need or have a chance to save them?

They're free muds who have volunteered to help Abe out with his missions. They don't need saving as they are not enslaved. They can just wander out of the factories in the same mystical way that they wandered in.

Mystical indeed!

Why can't the enslaved muds just wander out too?

After reading this, I'm gonna try to kill all 300 muds in AE (with -ddcheat) and post the scoreboard as proof. I've been lacking mental stimulation lately.

Because they should be working. If they are not working, they may as well be dead (or at least that's how the Glukkons feel).

Also because - bird portals aside - they have no mystical forms of transport.
