Wired Did you know? Abe's Oddysee

I have a few little discoveries I thought I'd share, some of which you might already know;

You can kill Paramites by luring bees to them. (I always knew they flinched but never knew you could kill them from it!). In one of the secret areas, there is a piece of meat which takes the Paramites twice as long to eat (possibly in order to make the puzzle easier).

In one of the secret areas in the fire-free zone, there are two Sligs. The Slig on the lower level seems to be hard of hearing because whenever the Slig on the top whacks a mudokon or makes a noise, the Slig on the bottom goes "What?!". It's even possible for them to say "What?" to each other a few times. Thankfully it's not a loop so eventually they will stop and carry on regardless. Sometimes the Slig on the bottom will even step off the edge (I think it works best if you are hanging on the edge on the left, and the Slig on the top says something). Very amusing to watch!

In general, Sligs in AO seem a lot more trigger-happy than the ones in AE. In AE you can usually run past or away from any enemy Slig, wheras in AO... you have a lot less time to run around before they try and shoot you.

In the last section of the Scrabania Entrance, it's possible to get past the Slogs without blowing up the mines, you just have to jump over them twice, and then jump over the last one before hopping into the portal!

Also, what's up with these crazy bats that can kill you in one hit? I wonder why those timed-mines never made it into AE?

Elum is invincible to Slig bullets, Slig's whack ability, dropping cargo on his head, bee stings (he doesn't die from them). Ways to kill Elum: Get shot while on Elum, make Elum walk off a cliff, make Elum walk into a flying/UXB mine. Speaking of mines, it's possible to make one blow up by jumping just at the right time, which blows up the mine but not Abe

Anyone else made any discoveries?

Go to a new screen, make 2 steps farther into the screen, turn around, and jump. You will be between screens, and if there is a slig on the screen, you can possess it even if it shoots at you.

In AO, when you get to the 3rd screen in the game (the one with the door that goes to the background), you can make the slig walk off the platform and fall to his death. You have to wait till he's offscreen, then keep farting continuously, and when he walks back towards you, he'll keep going straight off the edge.

In AE, at the end of the Mudomo Vaults where you're in the Paramite run, at one point a paramite takes a step too far and falls off a ledge. When it thuds to the ground, Abe says 'oops' just like he does when he accidentally kills a mud.

If you possess a slig in AO/AE, run to the edge of a platform and stop just before the edge, you'll stop with a thud rather than skidding off the edge like you would as Abe.

In MO, when you possess/control other creatures and check how much health they have, they have a ring of security orbs instead of birds. With Glukkons it will also show how much moolah they're carrying (Before you empty their pockets of course).

Some of the creatures you hear in the start up music for AO can occasionally be heard in the background of MO and SW.

Go back and take the time to admire the backgrounds in AO/AE. It really gives you a new perspective of the levels.

If I think of anymore I'll post them!

I knew about the Security Orb icons for the Sligs, but I never tried it for a Glukkon before... thanks! Also, did you notice one of the noises in the AO loading screen sounds like a monkey? I didn't know about these Slig glitches, I'll try them out sometime!
