What was the first fanfic you read? and how did it affect your view on fanfics?

For me, the first fanfic I read was Glory Slig.
I was suprised about how much detail someone could go into a story, and how much emotion could be conveyed. I also read such fanfics as; Jas, Pru, Oddworld Alliance, Freedom Fighters.

I always thought fanfiction was just material produced by die-hard fans, often of bad quality, but a lot of the fanfiction I have read recently is really high-quality stuff.

What was your first fanfic that you read, and how did it affect your perception of oddworld and other fanfics in general?

I can't remember the first fanfic I read. However, before I started reading them I thought the whole fanfic idea was stupid. Obviously I don't anymore...

my first OW fanfiction ever was the Despicable it inspired me a lot and I think it's a shame that not more people are reading it/replying to it x3, since then I made up my own OW fanfic, which I hopefully will be able to write down someday, oh yeah and I improved very much in english due to this, cuz I used to be really BAD at english before

other fanfictions I read/started reading here at OWF were Glory Slig, Chronicles of Virgil, A Tale of Epidemic Proportions, Shrown, The Madness of Life, Freedom Fighters, The Quest of the Orb, Charlottes Rein, Opples and Oranges....I hope I haven#t forgotten any of them ^^;

First one I read was Oddworld Alliance. Shortly after I read Splat's first major fic, Splat, then Teal and S'laskia's fics as well as Hans & Sven Do Stuff.

I think I first read "Hope or Glory". Before then I didn't even know there what fan-fics were. After reading it I found out, and was keen to write my own soon. And that's how my first ever fan-fic was born...

The first time I read a fanfic I had no idea what it was, so I read through the whole thing thinking "why the crap would anybody write a story based on a story somebody /else/ came up with?"
So there you go.
