Question Life on other planets?

Do you believe ANY form of multi-celled organisms on other planets? I know that we've found some bacteria on a few moons (I can't remember which one though) but what about multi-celled animals? Me? I think it's possible. I mean, if the universe is so big, it'd be a waste of space for the earth to be the only planet to have this kind of life. Besides, even if there aren't, for those who believe in evolution, those single-celled bacterial animals could evolve (Over a very long period of time of course) into more complex life.

No, we found indications that maybe there were the right chemicals in existence to support life. No more than that.

I'm prepared to accept that it's statistically likely that there is life elsewhere in the universe. I'm not prepared to accept that they've visited earth. That's just kooky.

I find it very hard to believe that out of the billions and billions of planets, Earth is the only one with life.

Harharhar. :P

Anyway, I pretty much agree with everyone else. If you think about the vastness of the universe, the millions apon millions of galaxies containing billions of stars with many of them having several planets around them, at least a few of those has to have the right co-incidences and conditions for life forms.

Most likely they won't be anything like life as we know it, though. And won't be anything like we imagined. Life probably evolved billions of years ago on different planets and died out long before life began to evolve here, and different life may evolve elsewhere long after the Earth is dead. You never know. :P

Representatives of several hundred space-going races have taken to hanging out, unsuspected by one another, in rural corners of the planet and, as a result of this, keep on abducting other would-be abductees.
The planet Earth is now banned to all alien races until they can compare notes and find out how many, if any, real humans they gave actually got. It is gloomily suspected that there is only one — who is big, hairy, and has very large feet.

well I'm going to go against the grain and say no, there is no life on other planets and we're completely alone in the universe.

Like Nate, I think there is a high probability that other planets hold life forms. How intelligent or advanced they are is a different story.

I believe in God, but I still believe there must be life out there, somewhere, but as said above, completly different from what we'd expect.
And hasn't fossilized bacteria on other planets/ asteriods been found?
Also, there's a problem with what life is, I mean, viruses aren't considered life, because they lack a cell wall/membrane, but what if there are other laines that are life them?

Wrong. Viruses aren't consider life because they do not fulfill all the life processes (Respiration, excretion, etc).

There must be life out there. I mean, how could there not be? There are billions (well, more like trillions, if that even is a gorram numbuh) of stars, and each could have its own orbit of planets. Though I wouldn't know why other advanced creatures would want to come here, not with all that anal probe talk, no wonder they haven't visted us...

The universe is excessively far more large than the human mind can comprehend. We can probably be certain of other life existing somewhere, some less advanced and perhaps some more advanced, why should we think we're the most advanced? But, considering we can detect nothing from Earth, it seems unlikely any have developed anything to achieve getting all the way to Earth from wherever they are, seldom whether they think it's even a good idea. Nothing has visited Earth, we can be quite sure. If advanced life exists elsewhere, it is highly doubtful it will be remotely like 'Greys' or humanoid in the slightest way, nor any creatures anything remotely resembling ours. Presuming life would start relatively similarly on other planets, evolution could easily follow a completely and utterly different course there.

The impending BM post is merely a matter of time away...

ZOMG! Area 51! Americans never landed on the moon! Little green men tried to steal mai cows but were death rayed by the Lizards! THE GRAVEMIND WILL KILL US ALLS!!!1one.

Ahem..

There is a comparatively large chance other sentient life in exists in the universe due to the two main factors involved, time and space, being of almost infinite measurement. Like Zerox said any aliens would probably look totally....well alien to us as frankly I think conventional extraterrestrial beasties are seriously lacking in imagination.

Firstly, that was what I was tought in biology (about viruses) , but I wouldn't be surprized if they were wrong.
Well there has to be life out there somewhere...
But what about all of the UFO sightings/ etc. I believe that at least one of these sightings have some truth.
Also, there's a video out there somewhere of a scan in space, and an object heading towards earth does a sharp V turn and gets the hell out of here (I can't blaim it), has there been any explanations for this, I thought it was some government video so it couldn't have been a host.
(Yes I'm extremly sad, I saw it on the extended material for indapendace day, despite the fact that I dislike the film)
But the whole MIB thing and government coverups is pretty shady, but could be linked to something else, I mean, mysterious men, black helicopters, that just happen to be around places where UFO sightings have been.
Creppy... brings up a thought to my mind, ignorance is strength (1984 :P)

Because people who claim to/want to see UFOs can be wholly relied upon to perceive other happenings in a totally objective manner.

But there are alot of sightings, some of them must have been true.
And I think some MIB sightings have been confirmed by valuable sources such as the government, but for all we know, they could just be secret government agents with nothing to do with aliens.
Also, there have been reportings from tribes that know things they couldn't find out on their own (like the distances of suns, etc.), and simular sightings from people who are never associated with each other.
Ok, maybe one person comes up with an idea, and everyone coppies it, but in the days before internet and phones, this is pretty hard, and besides, I doupt everyone has great imaginations, somone must have seen something.
I'm convinced there is something out there, and aliens may have visited earth.
And then there's area 51, the military refuses to acknolage it's existance (for example, it refused to support Indapendance day because of the inclusion of area 51), even though it obviously does (there are russian satellite photos of the base).
Now some people think that is was used to fake the moon landings due to it's alien like landscape, while others are sure they house aliens, notice both have a link to space (maybe they're intertwined).
Ok, maybe I'm a 16 year old kid with an overactive imagination, but hey, millions of people can't be wrong (well technically they can :P).

There was an actual politician in Australia who demanded in parliament to see the government's secret UFO files. She was laughed out of the house.

I did say I believe in the probability in life but UFOs just seem abit...too much for me. Of course. There have been MANY reports of them so atleast SOME should've been real. As for the ancient civilizations somehow connected to astronomical things (Some of which are SEEMINGLY impossible for their time) is a rather big thing though. Especially those in Central/South America. However, I myself personally wouldn't go on with just that as evidence. I did like the idea of civilizations worshiping other-worldly aliens though....Anyways, I'm more interested in the 'flying humanoids' reported in certain places. Real or not, they're pretty interesting.
