College Registration

Anybody register for college yet? I did, it took me from 8 to 3. Jesu Christo was it boring. Nobody said a word to me and everyone was older than me. sobsniffle. Hopefully I can geek it up and get in a roleplaying group. Oh, and I have a few on campus jobs lined up. Totally untaxed 7 bucks an hour. I also got a few nice tuition breaks and a fat interest free loan so my campus job will give me a full ride plus a grand or 2 a year.

I registered for a College Math Course, but not for College it's-self, I'm just barely going into Highschool.

It did still take a long time, though. About 6 hours.

Ah yes, on Tuesday I went for an audition at the local Drama school.

I'm relatively confident about the entire thing as the proffessor said I had a fantastic application and I think the audition went well.

Just gotta wait to see if I get in...

Registration for University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign was terrible. So long and could have easily been shorter for both students and parents.

I felt that the worst part was the campus walkthrough. The campus was rather large so it took about half an hour. Really, do 19-23 year olds need to be told things like "This is the computer lab"? No shit, Jack, I thought it was the gym!

I tried to register for a college course once (math, I love math), but they said I was too young. Lousy state officials.

What college are you going to, Statikk?

My college is strange and has these short 3-week terms you can/have to do between the semesters. During the three weeks, we do a huge project of some kind. Autumn Term, which is only for incoming freshmen, begins August 11. I signed up online for the project I'm going to take. However, I won't know if I registered in time for it until mid-July. If I didn't I'll end up with one of my back-up choices; I'm really hoping for the Florida's Marine Mammals course.

Fall Semester registration doesn't happen until the end of Autumn Term. The professor I have during Autumn Term is supposed to help me choose the classes that are best for me before I register.

My school also has a bunch of crazy events that are supposed to take place the first two days. Lots of meetings, family activities (picnics, etc.), some dance thing (with foam? Gross.), and a "Ceremony of Lights," involving a pledge to the school and lighting of candles and a torch. Kind of sounds like I'm being inducted into a cult.

I registered a couple months ago. My college's registration takes place via computer, so there isn't as much hassle. However, every person has a very narrow window of time to register before they're pushed back in line. Smaller, more popular classes can fill up in a matter of minutes, no joke. A little stressful, but not bad.

Art History II
Vector-based Imaging (Adobe Illustrator)
British Literature I
Technology in Society (yawn... required)
