Oddworld The Grubb Migration

This this is my first fan fic that I'm thought I should share. Enjoy! And feel free to give constructive critism.

The Grubb Migration

Prologue:
So you think you know the Grubb story. In how they were defeated by Sekto. How they searched for a hero. How Stranger saved them. Well let me tell you something. There is something you don’t know.
Well enough “You think you know everything” talk. Sit down and drink some tea and relax. Before Stranger came and solved everything, some Grubb tribes didn’t want to fight Sekto’s forces. They wanted to escape before anything else bad happened. So off the three tribes went, into an unknown land seen by Grubbs. One of them was called Spotted Wolvark. They had no place to go, so they migrated to any water-like place. The Grubbs figured that south east was the where all the water was, since the Mongo River traveled there.
They were dead wrong. Turns out, Scrabania was south east of Mongo Valley and the group was stuck. No water in sight means no easy-to-catch fish. And no fish means that they needed to adapt. Adapting would take some time. And that meant slow moving. Grubbs had to live in Scrabania.
There was some good things about Scrabania.. Mudokons had settled in Scrabania to train for chanting combat boot camp. They were nice neighbors when they needed help. Also, wild scrabs didn’t hunt Grubbs in the village. That made life easy. However, there were many problems. One, mudokons were not very friendly towards the Grubbs if they did not need help. Second of all, there was a bounty hunter named Kivay. He belives that he owns Scrabania and rumor has it that he is being payed by Glukkons to hunt down Scrabs and sell them to meat factories. No one has a clue what he has in store for the moolah, but it has to be dangerous to the Grubbs. Third of all, Kivay’s minions are called Drats. Drats are called this because when you see them, you say drat.
Drats are oddworld’s devils. Their faces look like a hound dogs and have blood red eyes that are far too close to each other. On the top of their heads, they have two huge slightly curved horns and smaller ones on the bottom. Their chin has some sort of breathing tube on it. No one knows why it’s there, except that it is used for sucking the energy out of creatures. Drats do this to dead animals, but they love to do it on those who are still alive. They have lengthy bodies, but always show their ribs. They have blood red stomachs too. Drats also have enormous bat-like wings that have dogish-like fingers on the top, but large nails on them. They also have fingers along their wingspan. Drats finally have huge, three bird-like feet with a long, pointy tail. For some reason, Drats contain large amount of energy in them, like mudokons. This description make Grubbs all the more worried.
Grubbs also have to look out for sligs. Some were sent out to get scrabs themselves for glukkons. They often sit on large weapons on the top of mountains that sit on it and the sligs shoot scrabs and sometimes drats, down. Grubbs are all seen as getting in the way, so sligs like to shoot them and mudokons. Fortunenly, only 8 were sent out. Only 2 of them were seen in the desert. The last thing Grubbs have to worry about are scrabs. When indiavials scout for water, they may come across a scrab. You can see how this is something to worry about. But now, there worries is just about started.

I like it. I especially like the style you've written it in, as if someone is telling the story. Plus, your spelling and grammer is really good and it's easy to understand, so kudos and I'll be keepin' an eye on this.

Update soon ya hear!

Thank you Lobo. For your compliments, here is the first chapter.

Chapter 1: Danger is Near

Day1 6:00 a.m.
You see, the story starts with 2 grubbs. Their names were Teo and Curtis. Ever since they were 5, the 2 have been the best, of the best of friends. They had the same opinions of subjects. The 2 both grew up knowing fighting was wrong. Teo and Curtis even had the same occupation. However, they were different in a few ways. Curtis had once snuck into a self defense class, while Teo was interested in writing and reading. Curtis had a “tough guy” additude, while Teo had a quiet and intelligent nature. Besides that, they both weren’t married. The 2 always had their backs, no matter what.
One day, Teo had been writing his, “Are Searexes a Myth?” book in his small, neat room with all sorts of designs. There was a picture of how he saw a Steef on a wall and a scrab hide sleeping bag on the floor. Suddenly, a knock came from his log made door. Teo said in a instant,”Come in, Curt.” After years of hearing his door being knocked, he could tell if it was Curtis knocking on the door or his mother wanting to give him a “GET YOUR BUTT OUT HERE, MISTER!!!” speech. Curt, with an surprised look his face saying “It’s always freaky how you do that.” Teo grinned and said “It’s amazed how you’re still impressed after 2 years.” “Well, I’m here not because I wanted to. I’m hear to give you us a message from the leader.” Teo looked up with an amazed and interested look It’s not everyday this happens. It’s usually Curtis who he wants to see. Curtis continued “He wants us both to report to his chamber.” This was very interesting. Teo never thought this was going to happen. Teo got up from his laying spot and said “Well, we better get moving then.”
The 2 hastily moved across the hallway to get to the main entrance. You see, back then, grubbs used small, long apartments. There were only a three of them, but they took up a lot of space. All the suites were either 2 or three chambers big. You were lucky to have 3. The reason why all of the suite were connected in the same hallway was to make sure thieves could easily be caught and that terrorists could not have an advantage. However, a weapon, like what the sligs used, could easily knock out dozens of grubbs in one strike. This wasn’t very effective to defense, but it holds the village together. The buildings were circular when they were next to each other. In the middle was markets and the penthouse. The penthouse was only occupied by the royal. That’s where our boys were going.
Outside the apartment was only a few people. Some were farmers and some were shoppers. Teo and Curtis watched their step, for they didn’t want to step on any of the crops. Some stared at the two. Only those who don’t shop or crop have to have permission of an high authority to go outside. Curtis was the first to get to the door of the penthouse. He knocked on it very hastily. An eye poked through the eye hole for a second and then the door opened creakingly. In the door way was Jezebel, the maid. She was like any grubb maid. She had modern clothes, like any she-grubb. Curtis smiled at her and said “Hello Jezebel, how are you today?” She flashed a smile back at him saying. “Hi Curtis. What did you do wrong today and so early, may I add?” Everybody knew that Curtis isn’t the goody two shoe kind, so he often got in trouble. “Nothing. Just a private meeting.” Jezebel face had so much curiosity, but without questions, she lead the two to the leader. The walls were so interesting in the hallway. There was all sorts cave art and torches on the wall, giving an dark cavern look. There also was little, detailed models of the past leaders. Teo saw one leader he didn’t see in history tablets, which was Leader, back at Mongo Valley. He was so fantasied that by the art that he bumped into Curtis when they stopped. Jezebel opened the door to the leader and said “Mr. Gizee, the two you wanted?” The slightly chubby grubb stood and said without hesitation, “Yes, let them in.” Teo was impressed by the decorations on the wall. There were all sorts of hides on the wall. Chimpunks, bolamites, and even a couple of scrabs. This logically meant that the leader was once a proud hunter back in the day.
It even showed on the leader. The grubb had seemed like he had suffered a lot as well. There were all sorts of scratches and stiches on his body. His face had wrinkles under his eyes, making him look weary. Teo felt pity for him He sat on a elum hide pillow and was surrounded by 3 other grubbs. One of them was Will, the leader’s son. Curtis gave a little silent growl to himself. You see, Curty here was jealous of Will. He always had everything better than Curtis. He was tougher, quicker, and even won over Jezebel. Curtis here liked Jessie, but she was engaged to Will. Curtis hated Will the most about that fact. Teo grumbled and listened to what the leader had to say.
In a deep voice, the Gizee said “Well gentlemen, you are here today for an important message I need to give.” He leaded forward and gazed in the young grubbs and whispered “It is to be believed that drats are coming to our base.” Teo gasped and covered his eyes while Curtis narrowed his eye brows. You see, all grubbs thought that drats were a fairy tale. Their mothers would always say “Come here this instant or the drats will get you!” when they disobeyed. Teo whispered back, “But I thought those were only a my-“ Before he could continued, Will said impatiently “They are real and we need to take action.” Yet at the very same moment, something else was stirring.

Mudokon Base
6:16 a.m.

“Now students, today we are still focusing on spirit rings. Remember, search for what you want.” said the Tomahawker guide in the outside world. The mudokon student being taught, was very frustrated in getting this skill down. For over a month now, Hillker has been looking for that source over and over again. He was disappointed that this was a need-to-know strength in saving your race. He always tried and tried again to find the power of destroying explosives. Today was not his day but something entirely different. He kept going into some sort of plain, where the spirits lived, but unable to find his power. Yet he looked forward, and something. The trail of red speaks slithered like a snake on the sand. He kept following the trail until... He saw the it! He saw the power which he shall conquer! He leaped forward and focused and thought “Come, on I need that power. Don’t disappear again.” Yet he got the red orb that gave him the power. He had succeeded. Enthusiasm rushed through his veins. Disappointingly, it wasn’t the power he searched for.
His mystic surrounding vanished and were replaced by a desert. He couldn’t move a muscle. He saw before him a grubb rushing and screaming “HELP!!” at the top of his lungs. He was forced to look up and see a shadow, covering the sun. It seemed to have wanting to land onto the grubb. It glided down towards Hillker’s way and then he gasped. A large drat stood before him and pierced his claws through the grubb. The grubb screamed even louder than before as it flew into the air. Suddenly, he was at a village. Suddenly, the village was in blazes. Drats were flying in the air, in circles, and laughing their heads off as if it was the funniest thing there was. Hillker awoke screaming out loud in the real world. His fellow students stared at him very oddly. His teacher knelled before him and said to himself silently, “I should’ve known this would happen.”

Thought I forgot about you? Wrong! Here's a inside story of our main characters.

Chapter 2 :Hillker’s story

Mudokon Base 6:24 a.m.

Hillker stared into Killgan’s, his teacher, eyes, after his vision. He looked into them the same way he had looked at him at birth.
You see, ol’ Killgan was a escapee that departed from a Vykker lab at the age of 12. He wanted to accomplish his dream in becoming a rebel warrior against the Magog Cartel. Killgan was very intelligent back in day then, so he looked at the story tablets in the factory for any possible, forgotten escape route. The ol’ man wasn’t selfish either. He tried to convince others to come along, but none thought it could possibly work. The other 3 (yeah that few) that thought it was a good idea, were slobs, and got drunk from Soulstorm Brew. In fact, not one worker, unborn or alive mudokon has escape from that place for 17 years. Still, Killgan brought along a egg with him during his escape.
His escape was very simple. You see, the flying slig machines was still a prototype back then, but it all were set at a programmed command. That meant that you would program the movements and next the pants moves without any more programs. He used an old air shaft that connected outside for his escape. Luckily, he was unnoticed. That very same day, Hillker was hatched. Ever since, Killgan has treated Hillker like a son. And all this time, Hillker has been trying to repay him for rescuing and raising him. Hillker feels like that the only way to do that is to Killgan proud of raising this mudokon, is by making himself a man of authority.
Hillker, however, didn’t have the skills of a leader. Or even a Tomahawker. His physical warrior instincts couldn’t be excelled by any other, but his mental attributes were poor. It takes him forever to master spooce locks and a while to get to the spirit realm.
But now, he blew it. He just had a non-attempted vision. Usually this doesn’t happen to young pupils, but the possibilities of the results! Either some spirit is contacting him or he is mentally ill and was being the victim of a mischievous spirit. If it was in his dream, he could hind the devastating vision, but now he’s going to have great attention in what he saw.
Slowly, Killgan asked “ Hillker, what did you have?” Hillker sighed and explained his whole vision to the entire class. Some were horrified, some covered their mouths, and others looked at him weirdly.
After he finished, Killgan said expressionlessly, “Please come with me, Hillker.” This wasn’t surprising in any way. Hillker looked at his toes and got up. Killgan here snapped “And please stand up straight boy.” When the 2 walk in a normal pace, outside, while the students sneaked towards the walls of the cavern. But Killgan knew of their attempted eavsdropping and shouted “Class dismissed.” calmly. The students bent down to escape the large rock igloo and traveled to their huts back in the village.
The 2 kept on walking through the village, passing several huts. Hillker looked in the village, passing by the huts. A bunch often had a rock gardens near their huts and a wooden door. The huts were meep wool made and were dome shaped. Most of the huts were not for shelter, but for supplies, kitchen materials, and skinning houses. Mudokons had built their shelters just like the supplement houses, just a lot smaller. Those had mystical chanting areas in them and meep wool made sleeping bags. The shelters were designed in a circular form, with a rock barn and a campfire in the middle of the circles. The campfire was there because every few nights, mudokons would get together and tell amazing stories and legends, using chanting power on the fire, to increase the imagery and suspense. The rock made barns had been just been a bunch of rocks, connected together and made to be have narrow walls. This all was made by powerful chanting strength. The animals used in the barn were just plain meeps.
This walk kept Hillker thinking about the construction of the town he lived in. All the things around him was made by the influence of chanting power. And he, even when he was trained at birth, had no power of his own. The thing he didn’t know, but Killgan did was that Hillker was a experiment right before birth. 17 years ago, right before Killgan’s grand escape, a native prisoner came to the a slig guard and said the Abe’s prophecy. Glukkons’ dug up some old history lessons and was alert of mudokons’ chanting power. They demanded to the Vykkers that they make sure mudokons’ chanting ability was disabled. After 4 months, the Vykkers tested on 4 mudokons. The first 3 had an incredible amount of power. Hillker, being the last was a success, was never known to have any power, but the glukkons never knew that because he never was seen in the face of an industrial. But this story was never spoken to any one in the village, except for the elders.
The two finally reached Killgan’s destination. A very gianormus Mudokon dome with a certain marking on the piece of stone next to the rock dome. It was a chanting mudokon with some sort of feather crown. This only meant one thing. Hillker was going to confront a mudokon queen.

Chapter 3: Resolutions

Mudokon Nest 6:37 a.m.

When Hillker entered through the leather door piece, he was amazed at the wall design and the difference of the citizens’ shelter and the huge queen’s dome. The rock dome’s size was most likely twice the height of Killgan’s size. The floor had an remarkably soft surface. He could even see the foot marks which were probably printed several weeks ago. The dome had all sorts of stones on the wall with dried up sticks on them portraying nests. Some even had a few eggs on the nests. Even some cave art streamed along the wall, full of creatures all around the desert. Even some paintings of the drats were painted. But there was a painting of a large creature, that’s chest was glowing...
“Thank you for joining us.” said a voice that was very mystical like. In the back of the dome was 3 mudokons. One was very big in size. It was the queen. Her beak was very large and pointy. Her skin was white like the snow in a blizzard. Her abdomen was surprisingly small for a queen mud. You probably heard from the other muds that their queen has an enormous abdomen. This one had a small one, which was the size of 2 basketballs on top of each other. She had 2 loincloths in their respectful places. Feathers extended along her body and tattoos slid on her arms like a snake. And this will boom you. On the back of her hands was the marking of the scrabs and paramites. This amazed Hillker. He had known that sign was given to those who come through Paramonia and Scrabania in one piece. But that meant she had...
“Ahem” muttered Killgan. He rose an eyebrow. He noted on how Hillker stared at the queen’s appearance. He quickly shifted to bowing and looked at the two others. But they weren’t amazing like the queen. He’s seen mudarchers before. They were most likely covered in all sort of makeup to make the two identical. Trust me. I’ve seen the make up they wear. The only difference the 2 had from each other was that the mudarchers had they had was that the queen’s face was imprinted on their heads.
“We have a sitution.” said Killgan in a concern voice and looked at Hillker.
The queen, still without any show of any emotion, said “Please explain”
This time Hillker replied and spoke of his vision. When he was finished speaking, the queen rose an eyebrow and stood before him. She was the most towering being Hillker had ever seen. He had a stir in his stomach that he had never felt before.
She said in her mystic voice, as if she was a spirit, “Be strong. This may hurt a bit.” It was a while after that event (which consist of some research) before I knew the exact thought she thought. She thought Especially for you. Suddenly, the queen rose her arm and a lightning bolt struck Hillker and he rose in the air. The lightning was still there and it was as painful as being bit in the heart over and over again. Blue light was shone across the room from Hillker like a projector. He could only see in his mind what was happening. He saw his vision again. It was being projected to the muds in the room. When it was finished, he thought the unspeakable pain was gone. He was wrong. In fact, the vision repeated. 6 times to be exact, before he was hastily dropped. His back was in pain this time and he was unconscious. However, for some reason I couldn’t explain, his conscious roomed around the room, listening to the now conversation.
He heard Killgan’s footsteps and heard his gasp. “Is he alright?”
The queen said to Killgan, “He’s alright. It could’ve gone better though. I’m supposing this is the powerless one?”
A voice that Hillker couldn’t recognize said “Yes sir.” And when Hillker could tell all eyes was on that one mudokon, the mud said “Before my transformation, I meet Killgan and the boy. I recognize his eyes.” It was that moment Hillker knew it was one of the mudarchers.
Another voice, much lower than the other, which was the other mudarcher as well, said “That is not important now. What is important is how we are going to warn the Grubbs of the Drats.”
The queen said “I have seen the position of the sun, and it far too late to warn them. They’ll come in 4 days.” This surprised Hillker.
Next, mudarcher 1 said “Wow. That is a short period of time. But couldn’t we arrive at their village by 2 days?”
The queen instantly said, as if she memorized answers “3 days, since the scrab migration valley is covered.” This valley was a place where scrabs migrated to one side of the valley to the next. The valley was considered a scrab land and they travel in their territory every 3 months. And trust me, they take a heck of a long time to get out.
“Ok, 3 days.” said mudarcher 1.
“What?! It would have to take an entire army to get past there! No way can we get there in time!” argued mudarcher 2.
“Well gentlemen, I guess we would have to think harder. Any suggestions?” said the queen. First there was silence.
Unexpectedly, Killgan cleared his throat and proposed “Couldn’t we just possess one of the scrabs? I’ve heard from one of the mudokon escapees that Abe had that power. Couldn’t we just do the same? And to solve the speaking problem, psychological communication would fit nicely for a replacement.” At first, no one replied.
“I like it.” said one of the mudarchers.
“You made an interesting plan Killgan that could save them and maybe even us. Thank you.” said the queen as she walked to Killgan. “I’ll see to it that this plan will be a classified army command.” Next, she gave Killgan a quick peak. “Now be sure this is said to the other warriors.”
Killgan without any sign of emotion said “Yes sir.” He picked up Hillker’s body and went out the door.

Royal Grubb palace
6:34 a.m.

Teo said to Gizee “So let me get this straight. You want us to join 3 others in a help mission to save our society? You want 3 others to go on a short route while Curtis and I go on the short route. Those three will cross a certain mountain that has a well, that’ll connect to the well in the mudokon base. And this well is unknown to anyone in the desert beside us, since it was broken many years ago. When those 3 find know where the village should go, your son will contact us through an old slig walkie talky and I will write it down in map form and Curtis runs to you with the map. Next, you want me to stay where I am and search for drats while the village prepares for evacuation. Finally, I go back to where you are.”
The Gizee’s son grumbled “You got it Sherlock Holmes.” Curtis scowled at him. Seriously, what does Jessie see in him?!
Gizee, unaware of his son’s behavior, said “Yes, it’s that simple. Nothing could go wrong.” Teo felt unsteadily about the situation he was in. He thought of the chances of failure. But if you knew Vikay, you would know he is making an unexpected move.

Thought I abanadon you? Nope, I didn't. Here's what you all were waiting for.

Chapter 4: The Journey’s Prologue

Drat Head Quarters: Vikay’s Office 7:02 a.m.

Vikay sat in his seat throwing darts at the wanted posters, all over the room. He was bored and displeased. To explain is displeasure, he first was angered that the drats haven’t returned from their hunting sessions and his wolvark assistant, Bacon, hasn’t reported anything. He was mainly displeased because glukkons haven’t given their full trust in Kivay. Bacon often told him their was ships being sent to hunt own their own, but no sign of the ships has been seen.

Vikay rubbed his scar on his upper eyebrow and sighed. He didn’t have any outlaw clothing, just very, very dark blue, stripped business suits. In fact, the crudity of the outlaw clothing gave him disappointment in how low went his species went. Without the business suits, he looked like the Lootin Duke.

He got up from his rolling chair to see what the desert had in store for him. From the last 20 minutes. The telescope curled in all forms and had several lens. In fact, all of them went in all angles and directions. No one could escape his sight. A few lens even saw the entire room of his office. He saw the old Greta machines the sligs used before Abe’s appearance.

"A bunch of crappy radiation machines. It takes so much damn time to power the thing." Vikay whispered in a barley audible voice. He even tried to use the machines. There was many reasons why he despised the machines. First, the machines’ seats were awfully small for the drats and the things couldn’t leave anything behind when they shot. You would have to move the thing at least a meter away from what you shot to have it’s corpse to still be visible. But at that moment, he believed that one of the crude monsters budged. He reached for the zoom button on his control pad, that was connected to the wall. He typed in with cigar to push the certain len, but before he see a better view, Bacon came in.

Before Bacon could say anything, Vikay turned around and faced Bacon. He said , annoyed at the same time, "Sit down Bacon"

Bacon was a quirky, neat, well mannered, wolvark. He had one eye glass for seeing and a brown suit with black pants. He even wore a tie. Kivay personally cared nothing for ties, but in case he wanted to choke him to death with the tie, it was important in the dress code.

Bacon stumbled to his seat. Bacon shook in fear and said, "Uh, sir? The dra-drats are back. Would you li-like to uh, make the um, packaging machines be turned on, uh, sir?" The shaking of Bacon made Kivay annoyed.

"First of all, stop quivering and stand your ground man! Second, make the machines shift to grind first. Third of all, instruct Leak that he must expand his night shift tonight and bring 2 of his best men with him." Leak was a valuable drat employee. Before Bacon said anything that Vikay didn’t want to hear, he begged "Oh and use your ring this time. OK?"

Bacon replied as fast as he could saying "Yes sir." Bacon touched his red diamond ring and clumsily headed out the door. Vikay smirked to himself. His life was getting a lot easier now.

Grubb Base, Curtis’s hut 7:09 a.m.

Curtis packed his bags carefully. He tried to think of all the problems that could come across the adventure, but not try to over pack. He brought his spear, water bottle, fish net, and walkie talkie. He couldn’t think of anything more to add to his supply of necessities. He was join Teo in the big walk, but someone was standing in the door. The Grubb stood there as a shadow, as if it desired to find him for a long time. The figure walked towards Curtis to reveal the identity of the grubb. Curtis gasped as he saw weeping Jessie that eyes could just look at him and her mouth didn’t need to say any words for Curtis to understand. The look she gave said to him "Don’t go".

She then flung herself at him and hugged him so tightly that he couldn’t budge. He enjoyed his time with her, but he was puzzled. What was she upset about? Had he done something wrong?

Jessie looked back into Curtis’s eyes and said "Really! Don’t go! I’m-I’m afraid that I might lose Will and I couldn’t stand having another loved one die and..." She stopped talking and sat in the corner and wept some more. Curtis figured this all out now. She was afraid of losing the leader’s son. It hurt him to see her cry. Losing another was too devastating for her. And he had remembered the other time she lost another once.

You see, Jessie was sent by her parents to go with her brother Nathan, off with the group escaping Sekto’s wrath. Nathan had no time to build a house with the others, so since Curtis’s parents was generous, the couple let the youngsters stay in their apartment. That’s how Curtis meet Jessie. But rather later in time, Nathan, while teaching Curtis is fishing skills, died of a scrab. Curtis also felt a little responsible for Nathan’s death.

Curtis went to the corner and shrunk down with Jessie and tried to pat her back, but before he could even attempt to do so, Jessie looked up and said while crying, "Ever since Nathan died, you were like a brother to me. And then Will came into my life. I know you never liked him, but he cared for me like Nathan did. And I have a bad feeling about this mission and if go..."

Curtis finished her sentence by saying " We both never see you again." Jessie once again wailed and put her head in her knees. Curtis knew what he had to do. He reached for her hidden chin and said in a stern voice "Jessie, we’re doing this for the future of the village you live in. If I don’t go, we may never see the daylight again. Do you understand?" She tried to look at Curtis’s gaze, but couldn’t stop crying. Curtis sighed and got up, picked up his bag and stepped very slowly to his door. He took a breath before making his final words to her. "You know, Will and I have something in common. We both want to protect you from any harm." The weeping stopped. Unexplainably, she starting laughing.

She said "That’s the only thing you 2 will ever have in common." Curtis smirked and went on ahead to join Teo.

Fianlly, I have rose this topic from the dead, and gave it new chapter. Or at least part of one. I've decided to separate them into three parts. Or two. Or none. OK, just read the stinkin' chapter!

Chapter 5:The Journey Begins: Part 1: The Coranious

Killgan’s Hut 1:08

Hillker’s vision grew blurry as he became more and more conscious. With a slight feeling of dizziness, Hillker awoke with forgetfulness. Hillker couldn’t remember what he last did, or where he last was. All he remembered was being at Killgan’s class and the rest vanished from his memory. It seemed as if he was in a long, quiet dream. He sat up and looked at his surroundings. Luckily, he recognized his own home.

In Killgan and Hillker’s home, there was a lot of accessaries and other stuff that made their home unique from others. For example, Killgan carved his stone wall, to form 6 series of stone shelves, full of stone stories. These stone shelves circled the entire dome shaped home they lived in, making knowledge swarm their home. There was also varies of spears on the wall, but each were only used or touched when Killgan was meditating. Hillker never knew why he did that, nor did he ask. But they were barely touched when Hillker was around, so they just blend in with the granite walls, making the spears seem like only decoration. Next to Killgan’s scrab hide sleeping bag, was two tomahawker staffs, each in different designs. One was normal, and the other was red, and stone carved. The orb on the top was made out of green painted thudslugs. Hillker also had his own sleeping bag, but was on the opposite side of the room. There was bench in the corner of the room as well, that was used for stone story reading.

Hillker had awoken on that very same bench. He groaned and put his head in his hands to think, in attempt to remember of the past events. He froze when he saw what he thought he saw. He looked down again and gasped. He rushed to a corner in the room, which contained the mirror-like chest plate, to make sure he saw what he thought he saw. He gasped again when he was definite what he thought he saw was true. Where his bare chest use to be, was a tattoo.

The tattoo he had in his chest was rather none he had seen before. There was a jagged circle in the middle, with lightning bolts, coming from the center, that were also jagged. In the center of the circle, was a demon-ish looking mudokon face, with 4 eyes. It didn’t seem like it was a common tattoo, but Hillker was sprung with a non resisting urge, to find out what it did mean.

Hillker jolted to the mini library in his home, and shuffled for the familiar title. The title was inscribed in the ancient language; "Tattoo Dictionary" by J.M.Weirdo. He searched with his bare fingers, for the oh so familiar story. Eventually, his three fingers found the wide volume. With all sorts of exictement flowing within him, he hastily pressed his hand in the story stone and suddenly, everything was silent. His mind was over flowed with thought of tattoos, but he searched for his own. He felt like he was in a bubble, with black tattoos making the exterior of the bubble. He searched his own, but was difficult to find with the varies of tattoos. He looked for a symbol of a four eyed mudokon, but he found it easy to find one. He found the tattoo, and with drastic excitement, Hillker saw the words of its definition.

You should’ve seen the surprise Hillker had. The beginning was written, "The Coranious." According to the ancient writing, it said,

"One who acquirers this symbol is promised to be both protected by new found strength.

The power within, will scare off even the most powerful spirits, for the four eyed mudokon means "lone soul".

The body and the soul, can be separated from any length.

The soul can return to its home, for if the body will allow.

The body will be protected by Skurull’s servents, destroying all powerful creatures that enter the body.

These separating powers can be used for life and death, but be warned, you can just say to your powers, ‘Ciao!’"

After Hillker removed his hand from the stone story, he was astonished. He couldn’t believe that he had powers that could possibly fake death. Hillker was so enriched with curiosity, he had to try out his new powers. His eyes were practical full of determination, that he looked like he had waiting for this moment for a melania. He hastily rushed to the bench and quickly went into medition. Nothing seemed so important to this to Hillker at that moment.

Hillker, after a painful 14 minutes, achieved to see something different. Everything in sight was black and white, making him wonder where he was. Then and there, he saw mystical blue orbs appear before his very eyes, but were quickly substituted for others. Soon, he used all his power to absorb these orbs. After days of finding the events, I found that Hillker first saw color in his new vision, but was blue. Instead feeling powerful, he felt wounded badly. he groaned at first. But after a few moments, he felt like he was dying. He screamed in pain, but he knew no one could hear it. No one should be able to. But before he knew it, it stopped. His black and white vision remained, but he was standing up for some reason. He looked around and gasped in excitement. He saw his body, mediating on the bench. He wanted to scream. He wanted to shout. He felt like telling the whole Oddworld. But something made him stop. Hillker was bodyless, and couldn’t be heard.

Heh, I can't really write this often any more. This chapter wasn't really hard to write, but wasn't so interesting for me to write. I have decided to make four parts, for there are new characters to introduce. Here's Part 2.

Part 2: Possession
Day 1
Mudokon Base 1:26

Hillker didn’t know where to start. He had so much time in the world to use his new powers, and it the day was still around midday. Hillker could do anything, anything at all. Hillker decided that he would like see his village in an entirely different way.

Hillker could not see the colors he knew in the village. The Mudokons were giving off an eerie blue, but were still solid. He looked down at his hands, only seeing a liquidly outline of his arms. It was mysterious in how he can see himself, but others would not even notice his existence. Perhaps only people with his powers can notice the outline.

Hillker soon grew bored of his invisibly powers, because there was nothing that was new. Mudokon huts weren’t really anything new to him, for they all looked the same on the inside. Mudokons weren’t hiding anything that they don’t want people to know and what use could it possibly be for him? The only time I have ever met a Mudokon who didn’t want people to know his secret, was when he found out he had three arms. Wasn’t pretty. Anyway, Killgan had told Hillker that rumoring was the doing of glukkons, who had enslaved their race. Surely Hillker would not try to be the people who wanted Killgan dead? Even though he felt like that he was entirely bored, he knew that there was one place he wanted to see.

Hillker ran north of the village, to find an mountainous, green Scrab statue. Hillker couldn’t really tell if it was green, but he knew that the statue had a different color than the rest of the stones around him. But he could notice that every detail was nicely carved, which made it amazing that this was the work of old mudokons. There were a long sets of stairs, leading into the legs. This was the sculpture called Monsilpcrab, where precious, ancient history was stored inside. It was also a place of mediation. Or so Hillker was told. However, only few were honored to go in. Killgan was one of the honored, but he refused to let Hillker inside. Killgan went inside at moments, but never spoke of what happened inside. Hillker only saw this place as a museum and couldn’t figure out why it was forbinned.

Looking at the sculpture, he saw that there was very few guards around the sculpture " Tight sercurity." thought Hillker as he ran up to one of the four legs of the Monsilpcrab. He started to go up the seemingly endless staircases, taking breaks at times, because it was so tiring to run up the stairs. After his fourth break, he seemed to noticed that a sandstorm was edging nearer the village. Hillker thought that he should sprint up, since he thought that Killgan would be home soon and seeing a body without conscious, would not make him happy. At last, the door was right in his eyesight and all he had to do was step inside.

Hillker gasped at what he saw inside. There was a huge corrider, that had been completely circular, except for the floor. On the walls, there was several torches lit, with green flames inside. The torches had the shapes of a wooden bird and some had the Big Face mask on them. The walls were probably the length of 4 Scrabs laid down! On the walls, several cave painting were made, some were more primitive than others. But never less, all the painting had story stones below, to explain their purposes and their history. Hillker couldn’t wait to find out what they all meant.

At first, he placed his hand in a story stone with the painting of a Mudokon riding an Elum. Inside, the stone story said,
"First inscribed: 167 B.G.E (Before Glukkon Era)
Location of first engravement: Spooce Forest
Purpose: To tell that Elum riding is required. Also was used to afterwards to tell a clue to the savior of Mudokons of what is up ahead.
Made with: Pieces of chalk or Meetle clippings."

This kind of information fascinated Hillker. So much could be learned in this museum. He looked at more of the painting descriptions, each having some new interesting stories to them. As he traveled through out the tunnel, the paintings turned into a artifacts. They varied often with mystic objects, such as Ghost locks and Spooce. The ones that interested him the most, were the weapons displayed. There were slingshots with stones, Tomahawker clubs, and Mudarchers’ their classified weapons. Others were the weapons of rider Mudokons, ones who ride Meetles and Elums. These fascinated Hillker the most.

Yeah, Hillker wasn’t the only one in that place. There was more of them, but they seemed to have left over time. Hillker had to avoid them, since Mudokons would freak out if they bumped into something invisible. Trust me, it is just freaky. So as time had pasted, it seemed like it was only Hillker was the only one. It actually took him only a few hours to go through that entire column. Hillker was suddenly very disturbed. What if Killgan had already found him in his hut? He wouldn’t be happy at all. But something was going on upstairs and Hillker felt like that he must go up there. When at last Hillker reached the end of the hallway, he saw a ladder that went up further. Just as Hillker thought that it wouldn’t hurt to search some more, a bird portal mysteriously opened right in front of the ladder. "Who did this?" was Hillker’s only thoughts. Yet curiosity filled him again. He jumped into the portal waiting what was on the other side.

The portal instantly opened and Hillker found himself in a giant room. There wasn’t much, besides the scriptures on the dome walls. There was also an enormous chant circle in the middle. The people in it would surprise you. The queen, her two Mudarchers, and Killgan were in the circle. Many thoughts of curiosity filled his head. Why would these four be in the room, of all people? Then he remembered the four had earlier about warning the Grubbs of the Drats. The possession was going to happen so soon. No wonder Killgan had left so soon! He must have been here to support the queen with possession. Hillker was suddenly stunned and excited. It wasn’t every day he saw the full extent of Killgan’s powers. But something distracted him. He could hear voices outside. There were some opening to the outside, so Hillker sneaked to one of them. He peeked outside and gasped. He was on the top of the Monsilpcrab. He never left it, just went up higher. On the bottom, there was countless guards protecting the Monsilpcrab. Over the time Hillker had been inside, the guards must have all came together, to give the queen some privacy. Now Hillker knew what he had to do. He had to get out, before Killgan finds out that he had left, soul less, and found out about the plans of the queen and Killgan. He was so frigthened, that he didn’t hear that the possession phase was starting.
Hillker turned around after some moments of thinking and ran. He didn’t find out, until later, that he was heading towards the possession orb. He slowed down to watch Killgan and the queen chanting. Their powers seemed be combining together, to form one orb. It was odd to see other Mudokons chant as one, so odd, that he had been walking sideways to watch. Isn’t wasn’t very long before Hillker felt something odd. He felt almost as if he was being squished up into a ball. Hillker looked down and gasped in horror. He was being swallowed into the possession orb! Even with effort, Hillker could not escape. At last, Hillker became part of the possession orb.
For some random luck, Hillker had kept his consciousness. He felt like he was the orb. He couldn’t see anything, but he could sense what was around him. And he could sense that the two had stopped chanting. Now, Hillker knew what to do. He had to possess a Scrab and get to the Grubbs. He floated away, using an opening to escape.

Killgan awoke from his chanting slumber and looked at the possession orb. It was floating away and the queen wasn’t even controlling it either. He had a bad idea in who could possibly be in that orb. He started to say to the queen, but she already responded, "Yes, that was him. And that means that the prophecy is coming true." She stood their in confusion. Killgan knew that it was time for him leave. But as he left, he thought, from the corner of his eye, tears was coming down her cheek.

End of Part 2

OK, here it is. Part three. I decided to include the other new characters in a more fitting time zone. Don't worry, our Grubbs are coming back next part.

Note: The foot note is entirely fan fiction. Don't take it seriousily.

Part 3: Hunting
Kivay’s Base 5:34 p.m.

Leak grumbled as he started to fly into the air. He thought, "What made me go so low to be following orders from a coward?! " This was Leak’s third overnight hunting this week and it was only Monday! But it wasn’t that he couldn’t sleep bothered Leak. Drats could go on years without sleeping. (But they are a little grouchy after some time) It was that he was following orders from Bacon. The little weasel couldn’t make a full sentence without stuttering, but there have been those times where he was calm. Not luckily, no one had a camera at those times.

While Leak cursed under his breath, he left the flight station he was on. It was one of those things where people finish first. However, it wasn’t the classiest you will ever see. It was several pieces of straight black metal, with strips of red on them. There were some more pleasant colors, but I rather not go into detail in what exactly what they were. Some of the metal was higher than others, to show that the flight board could come into the building. Today, it was at its full extension. Many Drats had to go into the building to repair and finish some things inside, so there needed to be a lot of space.
It wasn’t long before the other two Drats with Leak followed his tail. Leak had chosen Hot Spot and Pineapple, was since they both weren’t afraid of Leak scratchy voice. Yeah, it was that scratchy. But enough about Leak. He shouted into his commutation device, "OK boys, we are going to take the west route. And remember, fly low enough so that you can see your target, but not low enough so that you will crash onto the ground in two seconds. And no Pineapple, no energy blasts are allowed. You froze up for a week last time."
You could see Pineapple’s disappointment from a mile away. Leak rolled his eyes and watched the horizon. There were very orange clouds today, but yet there was some red sky around. It was all natural to have this kind of sky, for the orange clouds barely give a minute worth of rain. But below Leak, there were packs of dust on the ground floating around. Most of the sandstorms around Scrabania were on the ground. But even so, there still was some sand in Leak’s eyes. But having sandstorms on the ground, made Leak’s job harder, for Scrabs had adapted to sandstorms, and used them to hide themselves from Drats. On the upside, a howl of a Scrab dying was very easy to hear and made the location of Scrabs easier to find.
At first, only the echos of Slogs could be heard in the blend of brown and red environment Leak was in. But a single screech of the Scrabs, made Leak swoop downward. Tearing through the sand, he used his sensitive hearing to listening for even to smallest step of a Scrab. It wasn’t long before a Scrab decided to do its victory dance. Leak grinned in his luck and made his own intimidating howl.

Pineapple and Hot Spot didn’t need to be told twice in what they should do. They too, swooped down to kill some Scrabs of their own. Hot Spot, on the other hand, got out his old meat sack, in case they have a kill.
It wasn’t very likely that they wouldn’t kill anything. Leak became a blending black in the sandstorm, before the four Scrabs noticed him. The victorious Scrab bellowed in trying to claim his territory, but made a little effect in Leak decision. Deciding to harm the creature at first, Leak flew past the Scrab, slashing off his opponent’s chest’s skin. The Scrab had yelped in the terrible pain he was going through, but his partners refused to do action. The sandstorm clouded their senses, and the speed the sand was going at was painful.
Pleased with his doing, Leak glided more upward into the air. Once he was well level with his partners, he pushed Pineapple to take off where he left off. Pineapple decided to deal with the lesser Scrabs and swooped down to near the Scrabs. Without warning, he flung his legs in front of himself and used them to push the Scrabs into the ground. Two of them had their chin down, since they were able to react quickly. But one of them had his chin knocked down really good, and smashed up most of his lower beck.
Yet at that same time, Pineapple dug his three feet into the backs of the three Scrabs. All three died in an instant, for the claws went right through them. Pineapple grinned in his pleasure and flew straight to Hot Spot. Still flapping his wings, Pineapple dropped his Scrabs into Hot Spot’s bloody net.
Both grinning in their hunting success, but Leak spat in their faces. "What are you two smirking about?! There is still a Scrab alive out there!", growled Leak, to his two minions. Both Drats looked at each other and then, Hot Spot dived toward the bleeding Scrab.
For his plan, Hot Spot just used his three legs to hold onto the net. Just before he was going to swoop into the Scrab, Hot Spot flung his legs in front of himself. He stopped flapping his wings, so he could slow down. The air was blowing against his wings, so he could use his weight to glide. Without the Scrab knowing, Hot Spot used his net swoop up the Scrab. The Scrab knew that he was being swooped up by the net, right after he sensed his pack in the net with him.
As you can imagine, it must be so dang annoying for you to hold a 350 lbs. net and having something that is trying to get free, through howling and tearing the net at the same time. Hot Spot decided to calm the Scrab down by bending his head toward the Scrab. His tube on his chin did the rest. The tube grabbed onto Scrab’s head and the little teeth like inner walling and dug themselves into the head. The energy cells (It’s something that powers the body. It’s not really food, they are rather cells that last as long as you do. Look, I could give an explanation, but it’s going to be a footnote, OK?) inside the Scrab were being sucked out. This is quite a painful moment, so several death screechings were made.
At last, when the Scrab was dead, Hot Spot smiled. He purred to Leak, "So boss, how did we do?"
Leak grumbled. They weren’t bad, and he could give them that. So he said in a quiet voice, "You were OK. It could have gone better than that, but I will give a B." Hot Spot and Pineapple grinned at their success. But Leak shook off his annoyed self of seeing the two so happy and said, "So, how many more Scrabs can we fit in?"
Pineapple looked at the bag at first and said, "I would say three more, sir."
Leak purred and said, trying to avoid getting too much sand in his eyes, "Perfect. I hope you guys are willing to take a few more trips back to the base." When he said this, Leak flew into the air, getting to an area where there wasn’t so much sand. While looking through the desert, he tried to hear more Scrabs somewhere. Ignoring the grumbling from his two companions, he barked, "OK you two twits, get flying, because we are going to hunt for more Scrabs!" And off they went, flying through the upper sandstorm. And they were going to be most unlucky once it’s dark.
Foot Note: OK, want to know what energy cells are? Well, they are the very organisms that keep our organs functioning. They are mainly near the brain sections, for this place is like, the control center. They are born along with you, but once they die out, you don’t have much left. So to sum it up, they keep you alive.
However, Drats are the ones that don’t have any energy cells, that serves the same purpose. They have Hjoik cells. These are cells that give off a certain energy that’s called, Drumious. A single burst of Drumious can power the Drat’s body for a day. The Hjoik cells are always making more Drumious, so the Drats can stay alive. These cells are powered by energy cells, which Drats are born with. But like machines, they require consist energy cells. And Drats’ energy cells are not made, so they need energy cells from different creatures.
And that’s where a Drats’ tube comes in. They are the things that suck the energy cells out the creatures, and deliver it to the Hjoik organ. Yep, it’s really complex.
However, some Drumious can be like, extra energy that the Drat’s body doesn’t need. Then, that’s where a Drat gets his powers. However, some of the powers of the Drat’s are very strong and could tire out the body very quickly. That’s when a Drat turns to stone.
Drats don’t really die, but they turn into stone. That is when the Hjoik cells cannot produce enough Drumious. In some cases, they could come back to normal, but others, won’t go back to normal. Some Drats would try to take in energy cells, which had roamed out of a dead body. Others will just be revived by another Drat. But if neither happens nor happens successfully, the Drat would remain stone forever.

End of Part 3
