Does anyone find it strange that...

...both Oddworld Inhabs and Farzad both came out with a western-style shooter at relatively the same time?

I know Farzad left with no ill will towards Oddworld Inhabs, but the fact that he was working on a western as well kind of bugs me, and leads me to think otherwise. Darkwatch was an awesome game, no doubt about it. It just seems... spiteful in a way to go off and make his own western while Oddworld Inhabs make one as well.

Or is it me?

(Oh, and yes, I will henceforth refer to them as Oddworld Inhabs.)

Don't forget that Chris Ulm was the creator of that mediocre little game Darkwatch. Farzad did the art. And yes, I thought it was very strange.

Is it just me, or does that remind anyone of the part where you break free after you have been revealed you are a Steef.

FG now your looking too deep
I played the game and followed the development from the game and there are endeed some similarities like using bones from your ennemies to fuel their machines (mix of SoulStorm Brew and FossilFuel anyone?) as the similatrities between the Nightmare (coming in Darkwatch 2) and the Glocktigies

there are at least 6 ex-oddworlders that worked on Darkwatch, and Farzad doing most of the art ended me up to buy the book too

Ok. Lemme make a point to you.
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath was a million times better than that cheapy game you call Darkwatch.
Secondly, I wouldn't be surprised.
Darkwatch is a copy of Halo and maybe a bit of Stranger's Wrath, 'cause of the westerny look.
It copied off games, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did it again.

I have to disagree, not every shooter on Xbox can be simply called a Halo clone. Darkwatch had a lot of personallity and ambiance...

plus the main hero had some nice funny powers, and that whole sun/dark thing that allowed you to use your powers or not was pretty nice too

Personally, I thought the game was ass. Wish I hadn't spent money on it.

That was the only best part of it; freaky vampire/good powers you can obtain. Plus the weaponry.
But, it felt as if it was a Halo-type game as well. Don't ask me, but it really did.

Touche', OANST. Wish I could sell it back to the High Moon studios, tell them that the online sucks, along with the game. Sorry.
(I'm just too nice, I had to say that. XD )
But hey...it's a really pretty picture you got there FG. :shrugs:

This is just one of those coincidences. I am sure that SW is as related to Darkwatch as I am to, as alpha scrab says, 'teh zombi army'

Hmm well I never even ONCE thought of darkwatch whenever thought of Stranger's Wrath. (Then again I wasn't really intrested in it.) Now that you mention it though...Looking at least the videos and stuff it looks to me they have some similarities. That's a good eye you have there Dip .
