Shrunken Heads and Mudokons

I was reading random articles on wikipedia the other day and this one peaked my interest.

Is it just me, or does that head in the larger picture look like a Mudokon? Plus the tribal meaning behind the heads and even more interesting are the sewed lips on the mouth. Now I KNOW why Abe's lips were sewed, the whole thing to keep him quiet, but it is my theory of what inspired that part of the design were thre sewed lips on shrunken heads.

So, what do you think?

I don't personally see it, but your theory seems valid enough. I think I've seen ones that look very similar to muds, who knows where.

It could very well be that Lorne did the Mudokon design based on this. Or at least with this in mind. I can see a resemblance to the mudokons far away, as maybe in a very first concept sketch that may have resembled something like this.

I was JUST NOW(like 5 mins ago) talking to my mom about the process of shrinking heads!

But on topic, I think that they look very muck like Mudokons.

this could be one of the firsts ideas for the concepts when they started to design the mudokons.

Your right, if you look at it in a way then it does look like a Mudokon with the stiched lips and somewhat curved face.

... and yeah it does look like or at least reminds me about a Mudokon. Except that the head got a nose... anyway the Idea is for the Mudokons is good, but it does somehow looks kinda weird

that Lorne Lanning could have that on his mind.

even if deep inside I think there's a klink between shrunken heads and mud heads

Either that, or Lorne was raised by aliens in the upper Amazon.
