Sweet Nectar Of The Gods...

Ok, due to all the boring topics, i'm gonna try and think of some interesting ones. Or interesting to me anyway...

Do you drink the ambrosia known as alcohol? Are you a frequent drinker and what's your favorite poison?

I'm a semi regular drinker, not really that heavy a drinker, though i go to the local park to get wasted every now and then. My favorite drink would be beer, and i have a strong hatred towards Alcopops and such, due to their pussiness.

Discuss. Now.

I drink but only socially. I despise beer but most RTD's make me sick, so I either stick to beer or made up punch containing orange juice, lemonade, and vodka.
I only go to parties like less that one a month though.
I don't mind though, because luckily I'm the type of person who doesn't actually need to drink to liven the place up, but it sure does help.

Argh, can't stand hard alcohol. Can down a beer in seconds, though.

I drink, but never during daytime (as i find it common) or among family members (as i become less inhibited). I don't particularly like drinking a lot, though, as i like to remember the night i've had. There was a time when i used to see how ratted i could get before a certain time, but the novelty has worn off.

My favourite poison would have to be Vodka and Orange. Or a mixture of spirits that only my local club, Spiders, does. Or Vodka and Red Bull. Or Cocktails. Yes.

I loathe beer though.

I've never drank alchohol, and I never will. My reasons are my own, but let's just say that alchoholism is a genetic disease and I don't want to end up like Daddy Dearest.

'Sides, Mountain Dew and Mellow Yellow are just as good.

Aw Dipstikk! *Hugz*

I don't drink, I'm put off because my dad drinks a hell of alot and he gets angry very quickly.

Also, beer tastes horrible and I don't want to be put in a position where I can't remember what I've done.

I don't drink. Like Dipstikk, I don't want to end up like my "father" either.

So yeah, no underage drinking for Ambi. In the future, I may have a drink on special occasions, but I'll never ever be a casual drinker, get drunk, or keep alcohol in my house.

Good for you. You should be proud that you can say that, because not a lot of people can.

I for one can't... although I rarely drink. Strongbow, Guinness or Budweiser is what I usually have.

If you'd actually tried drinking (But I'm not saying you have to) you would find that it is very easy to know the point between 'having a good time' and 'smashed'.
I've never forgotten something that's happened at a party in my life.

Unless you're on this forum

I tend not to get smashed, not because i dislike it or worry, because it's expensive for a person of my size, it takes over 8 or 9 strong beers to get me mildly drunk when i eat. Which is too much for a person with zero income.

'I don't want to be put in a position where I can't remember what I've done.'

Yeh, i've got so drunk one time i couldn't actually remember how i got home. Which offered weeks of amusement at the club i was at, at the time, as i tried to track my memory down by asking people if they took me home that night. I made many-a-new friends.

I've also had the misfortune of attempting to sit down on a table that wasn't there.

Now i make sure i don't take enough to get slaughtered with, though £5 at Spiders can get you wrecked (shots of Vodka are 50p). But usually when i get upto £5 i'm quite content not to drink anymore.

I love pubs. Not just any old pubs either, I'm talking about cottagey little places with low cielings, dim lighting, and wood paneling. There really is nothing better, especially if they have a pool table and lots of events involving local traditions.

That and camping around a bonfire, another perfect venue for a bit of a drink.

Can't drink, not of age yet. America requires you to be 21 rather than 18. As far as I'm aware of that is the highest age of any country and its b.s. Anyhow, I work in a bar/supper club and have seen way too many drunken assholes to want to drink.

Please, I drink lightly anyway. All of my friends drink at have gotten drunk. I don't get drunk and I don't intend to, it kills a number of brain cells and can make you do really stupid things. I don't mean to sound like a high school assemble douche or a compensating drunkard, I' like to drink alcohol every now and then because it's a good drink and has a lovely taste (especially a White Russian!).

Weed > alcohol

but Irish cream is so good... even non-Bailey's. Southern Comfort is also decent.

Now i'm with you there, pubs are one of the finest points of Britain, though many in cities or towns are a bit crap with a 3:1 chav to normal human ratio.

I'm not technically of drinking age in my country either, being only 16. Though we can drink from 5 under parental supervision within private residences. And i can drink beer wine or cider with a meal. Which is all i would want to drink really, other than whisky. But breaking the law is no problem with me, my friends have fake IDs. And i look pretty tall and old anyway.

Wales, Cornwall, and Scotland have some very nice pubs, probably some of the nicest traditional pubs in England I'd say. The great thing being that none of them have anything to do with fox hunting, whereas pubs in the rest of Britain tend to have names like "the fox and hound" and all the posh toff clientele to go with it.
