Oddworld Comic Strip

Hey guys, for a while now I've been wanting to make a site contributing to the Oddworld fanbase - that is me and you guys/gals, and have been struggling to think of an idea, until today while i was at work it suddenly came to me.

I want to make a site that has a comic strip released maybe twice a week. The style of the comic strip would be based on Oddworld but not kept within the storyline, sure it will relate to the events and history of Oddworld.

The main concept was to have it a little like how Ctrl-Alt-Del is done, and perhaps some of the strips (if not most of them) relate to things that have happened on earth (i suppose it would be taking the mick if you like)

I myself think this is a great idea, and would make sure it stays within the Oddworldian feel, but the storylines would be pretty much free. For example you could have a slig that is freinds with a fleech, a little wacky, but you get the idea.

If you like this idea, i would really like for you to help me.

I'm hoping to open this site in the near future, and would need someone to help me concept/produce the comic strips.

Also anyone that does not want to directly be a part can still contribute by expressing your ideas in the forums.

I think a comic strip is a great idea! As a comic artist myself, I will fully support you in this.

Do you need a colorist? *eyes brighten intently*

Yes Dipstickk a colourist would be great! In fact i saw some of your work on a Oddworld Universe and your name came to mind, as well as a few others.

Thanks for your replies,

I need someone to help me with the following...

A digital cartoonist,
a colourist,
a backdrop designer, (ie the backgrounds and environments the characters go on)
and anyone that would like to be authors for the comic strips.

I want to keep those that are directly invloved to a minimum if possible because too many chefs spoil the broth, but don't let this stop you contributing to it. I would still like everyone that wants to help to be a part of it in some way. And i still need help with deciding a name for the site and a slogan to go with it.

I only have one name so far...

Slogmeat - Oddworld humour cut into juicey strips (ie the comic strips)

Yes Xavier it kind of will be like that, in the sense that the comic strips will be short and funny, but the comics will be more detailed/crisp looking.

Fuzzle Guy - Yes you are more than welcome to help with the Script Writing - I'll send you what i have so far through a private msg

Dipstikk - I also saw your work on your deviant art page, great pieces you have. It would be great if you could be a cartoonist and colorist for the strips - Let me know if your interested in helping me make a comic strip once a week for the site

Mudokon Princess - I read your profile and it says you love to write, well it would be great to include some comic strips that contain Oddworld styled poems if your interested?

The Big Cheese - Don't let me stop you with your idea, your more than welcome to place your own comic on my site if you wish.

What i was going to do was to have several stories taking place, peharps 4 at most, preferably 3. Each with there own style and twist.

So Abe16 if you'd like to be a colourist for the second comic you can.

Mudling - would you like to help on the second comic? You can do the scripting and scan your drawings and ideas to me.

it depends in the theme of comics, and the creator of the name.
i lke the name slog meat but if the comics are not just going to be foccused on an area involing slogs maybe you can make the name have odd somewhere in it.
you have genorsly given out jobs for the comic creating. i personly like creating names and don't think of it is a labour and if you think the same then create the name yourself instead of giving the pleasure to someone else.
but if you don't like creating names i will give you some ideas i had (they aren't that good but they could give you some ideas and insperation). actually, i think slog meat is a better idea by just thinking about it!
