names for characters and creatures

hello, i have viewed the forrums for a while and have recently joined. anyway, i am sorry if this has already been said, but can anyone come up with the orrigin of some oddworld (preferibly from strangers wrath) names.
e.g. steef: beef and stag and wolvark: ardvarks and wolves. i'm sorry if i am stating the obvious but i am just intrested!

Yeah, that's the philosophy behind Oddworld creatures. It says in the Art book that they combined Scab and Crab for Scrab, and likewise Slug and Pig for Slig. That's how they do it, and i find it extremley effective and funny.

Well, the ones with 'z' at the end aren't really that different, but yeah, you get the idea. As for Mudoken, I dunno. It's just a unique name, and it seems to fit the race pretty well.

Glutton + Mollusk = Glukkon
Scab + Crab = Scrab

Oddish, I think you made an error there. I'm pretty sure Khanzumers are "consumers".

I would warrant a guess that Clakkerz is based on the noise a hen/chicken makes ... as in "cluck, cluck".

i think it is great oddworld has done this with creatures and i am sorry if i am breaking any rules, but what about the origin of any oddworld charcters like aslik and facillities and cities like feeco or new yolk city?

I don't know, I thought piranas like to stay in packs like the paramites, and one pirana can't do much, but many can.

Para-:

1. Beside; near; alongside: parathyroid.
2. Beyond: paranormal.
3. Incorrect; abnormal: paresthesia.
4. Similar to; resembling: paratyphoid fever.

Maybe OWI meant what they said? The faces of paramites resemble very closely the errr "faces" of actual mites. The tendrils and stuff? I always thought they were just paramites as in not mites, but similar to them in appearance.

‘Paramites is a crossover of ‘parasites’ and ‘mites’.
‘Clakkerz’ is a crossover of ‘cluck’ and ‘cracker’ (a term for white trash).
Mudling, the three things you named, Aslik, FeeCo Depot and New Yolk City and some of the more obvious Oddworld names. Do you really want someone to explain them to you?
’Mudokons’ is a really cool way of getting a character name. It comes from the expression ‘mod cons’, which are things that help you get tasks done, such as slaves.
