What Graphics Program Do You Use?

This question is really for the Designers and Digital Artists on the boards. But of course other people can post too .

Well, my questions are;

What graphic designing program do you use?
Why do you use it?
Do you think it is better that all the others?
If yes, why?

Now, feel free to post away to your hearts content .

And Flash.

I wish I had Photoshop.

I use them because it's all I have.

I'm using :

- Cinema4D to create 3D scenes. It's one of the better 3D softwares, but I prefer it because I love its interface and rendering capacity.
- And Flash MX to (re)make my site. With this software you can animate your bottoms, and so more things quite simply.

I think that's all.

I use Photoshop 7.0, I use it because it is much better than any other 2D Program I have tried. That's my opinion anyway.
My reasons for thinking it's better are,

• Great, simple interface

• You can create very large images with ease

• There are lots of cool preset actions (I never use them but at least they're there)

• Although it doesn't have brushes like ropes in Paint Shop Pro, it still has some pretty cool brushes

I use Macromedia Fireworks MX, can't use anything else. I have to use Photoshop 7.0 and Corel 11 at school, hate them :@

I have Adobe Photoshop 5.0. Hell, it was new at one point, and that doesn't even seem that long ago. It does everything I need it to. I've long had to give up my artistic tendencies, and they've died. My creativity is shocking, now.

I have Photoshop 7.
I used to do quite a lot on it, Photo manipulation to original works, but now I can't be bothered and rarely use it for anything but resizing, or other mundane tasks.

I use Picture it! It get's the job done, but I wish it didn't shutdown so often, it just terrbely sucks when you can't finnish your digital art masterpiece. It just sucks!!!

I also use Photostuido 5 to do the painting, it's good, but my dad losted it, and it sucks!!!

I use 3D's max 6, nice program.

3D Max? Isn't that a multi-thousand dollar program?

I don't do much artistic stuff on the computer. I wish I did... it seems like a lot of fun. I don't have the time to learn how, and even if I did I wouldn't know where to start. I use to use GIMP though... it's a great free program with plenty of features available. I haven't been able to find it online though so I can't re-download it. Recently I've been using Photoshop 9. Cool program... even though I have no idea how to use it.

I also use Flash MX (thank the good Lord for eBay). It's lots of fun.

Alias SketchBook Pro (which I may or may not have got for free... SHHH!) kicks the crap out of any sketching program if you have a Wacom tablet. It uses the same kinda thing as Flash (vector?), which means that every line you draw is exactly how you draw it... instead of being made out of pixels like in MS Paint.

I work in mainly Photoshop latest edition and painter 8. I also expertise in Illustrator and Quark Express on top of that I solely work in my illustration studio useing traditional media before I take my work to the computer.

I love Illustrator for its ease when it comes to traceing my own artwork and then takeing it to Photoshop to paint and just create a digital painting. Instead of waisting money on traceing paper I take my art work to the computer to do my renderings. There is a term going around in the world of illustration its called tradigital. It means as an artist being use to working in traditional media is not a problem when it comes to working with digital art it is everything an artist dreams of minus the mess.

I'm stuck with free software, so the GIMP and Gmax for me. Or, when I'm feeling frustrated with my software, PENCIL to the rescue!
I guess they get the job done, but it would be nice to actually be able to render 3d scenes properly, without having to use YAFRay (Yet another free raytracer), as it doesn't always work properly.

Primarily Corel Painter IX, it works nicely with my Wacom tablet and has an insane range of tools.
I also use Photoshop 7, it also gets along with the tablet, I find its tools less useful so I tend not to use much, except for graphical and design purposes.
