London Nuke

Happy new year everyone who's had it already. And an early happy new year to people that havn't. Well anyway, to the topic. Did anyone see the finale of the London fireworks? That last one looked like a nuke had been set off. Well, I was just wondering if anyone had seen it.

Ah, all is at peace. I thought the beloved city I wish to move to had been nuked!
Time rolls on...

The BBC made the Thames look very pretty with all the reflections of fireworks and stuff.
It's almost as if they had tasked a single full time programmer with water effects...

If no one has any clue what we're talking about, I'll post a picture as soon as the BBC get's them uploaded. Which I'm sure they will do.

Edit:

Looks like they have. But I can't find a picture of the massive firework for the finale. All I could find was this.

Wow, that's some pretty fireworks there. Sydney's weren't all that special this year, it seems since Sydney 2000 when they really lit up the sky, that every fireworks display fails to compare at all. But I still think they look awesome.

Hmm.. I didn't watch any fireworks, but I'm not sure if the US had any. Chances are they did, but meh. I've developed a mild phobia of fireworks because of an incident this past Fourth of July.

j/k, it would be interesting if London was nuked and there was nobody assigned to control, i'd personally like to see how America would react.

I saw that. The BBC managed to overload their cameras by getting the brightness dampening wrong, so the whole screen went white for a moment till they turned the dampening up a bit more. It wasn't actually quite that bright in real life.

Yeah, it would be interesting to see how America reacted but none of us in the UK would know. If one nuke had hit London there's be more headed to the rest of England. But before even the first one hit we would send ours out to whatever country fired it.

It's like the movie War Games except real.

I also didn't do much for New Years. I didn't even manage to watch a fireworks show. I just went to a couple of parties with my girlfriend, which were fun. I want to see a picture of these incredible fireworks in London - they sound pretty awesome.

If a nuke hit London, I'd be in the blast radius. :P Yay for being wiped out at the same time as everyone around me. That'd reduce the grief factor, since me and my close family would all be dead and therefore we wouldn't miss each other. . .
On the other hand, my distant family and 'net friends would.
Hmmm.
What will be will be, they say. . . But then I really hate London 'cause it stinks so bad. :P

Anyway, yeah, I did see the fireworks display in London. :P Kinda like what they did in 2000. . . It was pretty awesome. Especailly that big white flash at the end. :P

Because our Government is based there, our TV stuff is based there, our economy is based there, our telecom is based there (no more OWF for us), Dude, it even has an underground train system!

Plus it's the largest city in the world. It has the most famous clocktower in the world. It's really cool. And I want to live there...

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that if they'd nuke other places Birmingham would be one of them (that's right I'm from Birmingham area! I'm a Brummie) .That's me dead or poisoned then.

Actually, Tokyo, in Japan, is the largest city in the world.

Londons' claim to fame is "the tube", which is the largest subterranean rail system in the world. In terms of size however, London only ranks 13th.

Another reason why it's famous, is because it's the capital city of the country which created the modern world.

Are we talking about city centres or the entire mass of London (greater and outer) that spreads all the way to windsor and beyond?

Also London is cool. Eg. If you are living in Soho or Covent Garden. You get bored. You wanna buy a new computer to play a MMORPG. No problem.
Oxford street, the biggest shopping street in England and the busiest street in the world (heard it on TV) is only round the corner.

Then again if you're living in soho you'd probably visit a sex shop.
