Credit goes to Oddworld Universe.

GameSpot's coverage of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath has been updated with a massive list of new goodies. Included are two new, "official" movies, which brilliantly show some of the regions we haven't seen before. GameSpot has also has a Character Profile, which details specifically, Stranger. Nice find Alcar!! There's one thing that I noticed about the character profile, though. Why the heck does it say Species: Unknown? They should know that Stranger is a Steef for crying out loud!!

I noticed that too, and thought it strange.

Also, GameSpot has said that this is the first in a series of Character Profiles. So we can expect to see more! Yay! But I can't help but feel sorry for IGN - they've received didly squat.

Yeah, I noticed IGN aren't getting much at all. Maybe Gamespot have a better relationship with EA or something, thus why they are getting all of this material.

As for the "unknown" naming of the Steef species, either something has changed which we don't know about, or maybe Gamespot weren't informed correctly. Or it was just overlooked by the reporter.

Did you see the environement in the movies? Heard the nice background noises? I think I'm gonna like Stranger. (the game I mean. Not liking Stranger himself. You get it.)

Great Job Peter, and finally some concept art! I also like how they're starting to promote the game with bio's and the such.

It looks like they took the text of the profile from the WANTED poster (the second image) so I'm guessing that whoever has put a contract out on him doesn't know what a steef is.

The third pic looks like it has a vykker in it.

That is definitely a Vykker in the third image. As for conceptual art, I'm estatic about it. I've been waiting for such artwork for as long as Xavier. And I must agree, those water effects are superb.

Can't wait to see more Character Profiles!

Wowza, look at those teeth fly!

GameSpot's done a good job, here. I imagine the profiles are actually from OWI themselves: it's in their style, at least, and the references to Splinterz and Mudos are most likely OWI making sure Stranger stays on Oddworld. And, incidentally, Stranger's Wrath does take place in Mudos after all.

Anybody spot how much Stranger's boots weigh? Eeek!

Haven't seen the movies yet.

Just watched the vids: friggin' amazing. This is what I imagined Munch would be like - it looks like the Abe games put into 3d. The river video looks and sounds amazing. And, in keeping with my habit of latching onto obscure details, the new 'cracked jewel' logo looks great.

On the negative side, I'm not too sure about Strangers movements, especially in the water. What do you think?

Wow! Those pictures and videos are awesome! I love the "Mongo Wilds: Happy Hunting" sign, and did anyone notice that behind the sign that says "no fishing" there appears to be a post with three things hanging off it. Look at the closest thing thats hanging off the post...To me it looks a lot like an actual gabbit!!!

To me it doesn't look like gabits, but skeletons of the salamander like native creatures. You know, the ones with the fishing net.

They do look extremely good, especially the water effects. Great work to whoever did those, as they aren't something easy to pull off as good as it is.

Although, Nate, what obscure 'cracked jewel' logo are you talking about? I hope my media player didn't skip that scene... Picture?

Nate was talking about the Oddworld Inhabitants intro logo which I also loved. In MO it had a beetle flying over it, if that helps at all.

Dripikk, your posts are deleted because we consider what you posted to be a spoiler. I was going to get ratty and remind you that Xavier left a message on each of your deleted posts, but luckily I remembered that only mods can read those. :P

The cracked jewel logo would be the OWI logo which appears at the start of both videos. The jewel part which forms the ‘o’ has a couple of cracks in it.

Both signs made me happy. The Mongo Wilds look gorgeous, and the realtime storytelling of the ”We told ya NO FISHING„ is fantastic, and to me harkons back to the background and foreground details we loved in AO and AE but which aren't so easy to replicate in 3D.

I could hardly make out the second video, it was so dark and juddery.
