The Licker isn't the boss, chap. There are many Lickers in the game. What was the dudes name again? He injected himself with the T Virus or whatever, if I'm remembering correctly. And you fight him multiple times in the game, and see all of ihs transformations throughout the corresponding A/B games.

But anyways, the first movie was decent. Flashy, and they took all thinking whatsoever out of the picture by having the whole "Explain what everything is, big military man!" And on top of that, had the most blatant, horrible, going-to-be-a-sequal endings ever. At least Back To The Future concluded the current plot before saying "To Be Continued".

I hate the hispanic chick who turns into a zombie at the end.

She's terribly unattractive, she has a lazy eye, and her acting abilities are no where to be found.

When I'm watching something as predictable as a god damned zombie movie, I want all of the lines delivered with conviction....Not some pathetic attempts at one-liners courtesy of the hideous, monotoned butch soldier, thanks.

Anyway, apocalypse is going to suck. Hard.

Hard, I say.

It's a good thing Milla Jovovich is so amazingly hot.

Otherwise I'd have to question her acting abilities as well.

Then again, she's now been enhanced with super human powers!

Let's hope one of them is super human acting abilities.

It was Dr. William Birkin injecting himself with his creation (The G-Virus) after a few Umbrella Agents opened fire on him to steal his work for the Umbrella Corporation. Then as Alpha team exited the laboratory through the Raccoon City sewers they were attacked by a transformed William Birkin and all of the team Alpha and Bravo except for one umbrella agent known as Hunk died. Hunk was also one of the survivors of the whole Raccoon City incident, and still escaped with a sample of the G-Virus. The virus was spread through Rats in the Sewers who fed on the dead umbrella agents and the smashed viles of the T-Virus that were also with the G-Virus samples that were attempted to be stolen. Thus the rats spread the virus throughout the city onto citizens etc.

The Underground facility is still under Raccoon City atleast in RE2 the Game it was we just never heard of it referred to as the Hive. And even in the movie universe the Mansion incident still occured from the First RE game because in Jill Valentine's bio on the official site it mentions she survied the Arklay Mountain Mansion incident. Well I didnt mean to go into a whole Resident Evil history or facts but just thought I'd add some greater depth to some things and answer any potentional questions ahead of time.

Yes. I suprised myself with a lack of rememberance regarding the RE plot. So, since I had nothing else to do, actually looked it up after I posted. Oh, the busy life of moi.

Oh, and the guy I read the plot summary from. He summarized pretty much all of the storyline from every game. And when you're dealing with something like RE2 or Code Veronica, that takes a damn long time. I wonder when he found the time. There's just this giant, never ending FaQ. Jeebus.

My brother and I picked up some of the RE action figure things a few years back, for the minimalistic novelty value. At some closeout sale, they were something like 3/$7 I believe. Methinks they'll be peddled off for less on ebay some day.

I forgot all about the whole Wills Birkin incident.

I adore the RE story and i'm now playing the remake of the first game on my brothers gamecube, t'is rather jolly. Don't s'pose anybody has the second game on GC, do they? Just so they can tell me whether it's worth getting it or not.

My fave RE game has to be the 'Nemesis', purely for the way you can make choices that affect the gameplay, and i think more games should do that. The way the screen went all black and white as well whilst you were presented a choice enhanced the gameplay also, bravo et al.

What's the story of 'Code Veronica' anyway?

On topic - the film was poo. They shouldn't have even dared tamper with it, what was the point? If you're going to make a movie about a game...be accurate. Jesus, it doesn't take much to base a film on a game.

There was none. Think of this as Final Fantasy. Incredibly popular series title. Crappy movie that has nothing to do with anything, yet still raked in dough and had silly loyalist fans saying how cool it was. The actual game storyline was much, much better. Trying to jumble together RE1/Nemesis into one movie package seems silly. And they seem to have already crossed out the Redfields to be in the storyline, without some creative plot filling that should've been evident from the beginning. Despite the fact they're the main topic of revolution in the story.

Well they might not have tampered with it.It could have been before the original resi evil 1.So the mansion they were in was different. But overall I think the zombies just got boring.Hopefully resi evil 2 where chris becomes nemesis will offer more creatures...

It apparently has Licker's again. Maybe these ones will pull the whole William Birkin transformation too! Because we all need plot mixtures and continuity. And by that, I mean we don't. Because the only place where they stay true to the games is in the acting.

I hope they DON'T try to include more creatures, without properly consulting and playing through the games. Because I don't want to see anymore mismatched crap. It's like watching the Pokemon show and going off to play the games. Things don't make sense when misaligned.

The Remake by far is so well done. I played it on my friends Gamecube and played with Jill. She was my favorite character when I first played it too, but the game is just so excellent. I also really liked Nemesis a lot too. Code Veronica has a really confusing story. I read one of the Resident Evil Novels the one based on the first game "The Umbrella Conspiracy" it was also really good and I recommend the rest of the series because I plan on reading them also.

It also annoys me when Hollywood or other random people try and make films out of books. And they miss important pieces of information. Or add pieces of crap information. Or they create a set that's nothing like how it's described in the book. The book should actually be read and consulted, you don't even need a script writer person, because the script is in the actual book!

But no...once more people think they know best and absolutely destroy the Harry Pot...errr...miscellaneous books universes. Ahem.

I liked the first movie ... but I didn't expect a second. Mainly because it was considered a bomb in the box office by many ... usually they don't make sequels if the first one doesn't go well. I guess the open ending of the last one meant they were going to make a second regardless of whether the first went good or bad.

Nope, but it went straight to Video/DVD. So it must be really bad.

After reading abit of the plot I can see its abit of a rip off from John Carpenters "The Thing" Which was an excellent film btw.

The first movie is really just all these Resident Evil games mixed together, they even used the whole amnesia thing from Survivor. The movies don't have anything to do with the game except the T-virus, creatures, Umbrella, and a few people. They basically mixed together the STARS and UBCS, and you wont have to worry about sequels because like Majic said Chris and Claire aren't mentioned in the 1st movie and probably won't be in the second movie. Also by looking at the website they already messed up the Ashford family.

Jacob the Gamecube Resident Evil 2 is just like the playstation one from what I read in a magazine but a lot more expensive.(even though I bought it because I didn't have it)

Jacob, the Starship Troopers movie was absolute crap.

Ferril, The thing is awesome. Then again, all of John Carpenter's films are. It's sort of sad that the special effects he used in that movie still manage to rival those of today.

On topic, my friend Kevin showed me a couple of trailers for RE 2: Apocalypse....It looks absolutely horrid.

The best comparison I could make would be Pitch Black.

Pitch Black was great, but Chronicles of Riddick was full of predictable action and terrible one liners.

The same goes for apocalypse.

Plus the creature I saw...I think it was The Nemesis...Was lame. It was obviously a full latex body suit, which of course, restricted the movement of the actor wearing it.

Think along the lines of Batman's suit.

I believe they actually took the time to go through and redo most of the puzzles/zombie locations, therefore creating a different version of the same game. The storyline and plot are all alike, there's just enough changes to keep the original fans around to buy it.

No kidding. It looks like the Toxic Crusaider, it's way too cheesy. I think they should've gone with Mr. X from RE2, he would've looked more believable on screen.

Dude. Mr. X was like, the coolest enemy ever. The way he was sculpted into the B game for RE2, superb. I never played Nemesis, but the whole idea of the uber Tyrant thing or whatever with a rocket launcher. Too far fetched, lame, etc... The whole Mr. X things, though. Wicked. Now I'll be forced to go play RE2 on my off day from band practice. Bah.

Plus, it sounds like some sort of baddie Toby Maguire would get his arse kicked by. Bonus points in my book.

Mr.X was the mercenary from the B game, yes?

Man, he was a badass. No matter how many times it happened, he always scared the living crap out of me everytime he'd break through a wall.

And his slow, deliberate walk was quite....sexy.

Anyway, Shell Man, it's funny you compared nemesis to the toxic crusader. That's what Kevin and I were saying.

Yeah, me and my mate watched it again the other day, Brilliant film. It's shame the game, which takes place after the film is such a let down. Though it did capture the whole "Who do we trust" thing very well, it just had too much action for a game made from The Thing.

And the last boss was shit
