Seeing as how the 360 is the only system we really know anything about we can't make an accurate assumption as of yet.

I'll be getting the 360 for Gears of War and TES IV: Oblivion, though.

And yet it still has the same ol' boring controls. 'X,O, square triangle, X,X.'

If the PS3 has backwards compatibility I'll get it to play my current games on. If it only plays PS3 games I won't be buying any new console.

^^ Yeah I feel similar. The thing about the Xbox 360 is that right now there's this load of b****cks that backwards compatibility for it is pointless and not needed, but built in online features are better. That's a laod of crap, built in online will cost more as you'll have to get all the cables, connections etc. for it, and without backwards compatibility your game selection is more limited at the start and you can't sell your old system.

That's mostly true except you can get a wireless modem for 360 live but yes it's Bull that backward compatibility is not needed.

As I said the Elder Scrolls thread, I'll probably end up buying an Xbox360 for ES4: Oblivion and Condemned: CO alone. The 360 is looking far inferior to the PS3 at the moment, though.

Depending on which console(s) the next Silent Hill and Resident Evil games will come out on, my decision could be swayed one way or the other. Regardless, I'm not buying anything right away; it would probably be wise to feel the next-gen console market out a bit before buying.

Those demos that Sony showed off at E3 were total BS. I really wish those games could look that good this generation, but no. I'd say they are fairly even in terms of features and technology, but I'd have to see some actual games running on the PS3 to make a proper decision.

XBOX 360:
Specs
The controller, the camera, the headset, the camera, and even the console itself...there have been a lot of Xbox 360 leaks so far.

Now, it seems a full list of Xbox 360 specs and Xbox Live details has been leaked. This list comes from a thread on the Team Xbox forums (the thread has since been deleted), and the TXB poster originally got it from another un-named forum.

2 types of Xbox Live:
Xbox Live Silver (no subscription required)
Xbox Live Gold (subscription benefits)

(S) Also for Silver
(O) Also for Offline

- Seamless transition to Xbox Live account from Xbox to Xbox 360
- Access to MMOs (additional fees may apply) (S)
- Free Xbox Live weekends (S)
- Multiplayer online gameplay
- Avatar for gamer profile(S)(O)
- Motto for gamer profile (S)(O)
- Personalized look for Xbox System Guide (S)(O)
- Offline achievments (S)(O)
- Online achievements (S)

- Downloadable demos/trailers (S)
- Microtransactions (S)
- Custom playlist in every game (S)(O)
- Play music from portable devices (S)(O)
- View images from digital camera (S)(O)
- Strem media from Windows XP (S)(O)
- Interactive screen savers (S)(O)
- Track info for CDs (S) (O)
- Communication with voice, video or text (S)

The Hardware:
1. Support for DVD-video, DVD-Rom, DVD-R/RW, CD-DA, CD-Rom, CD-R, CD-RW, WMA CD, MP3 cd, JPEG photo CD
2. All games supported at 16:9, 720p and 1080i, anti-aliasing
3. Customizable face plates to change appearance
4. 3 USB 2.0 ports
5. Support for 4 wireless controllers

- 2 hardware threads per core
- 1 VMX-128 vector unit per core
- 1 MB L2 cache

CPU Game Math Performance
- 9 billion dots per second

Custom ATI Graphics Processor
- 500 MNz
- 10 MB embedded DRAM
- 48-way parallel floating-point shader pipelines
- unified shader architecture

Memory
-512 MB GDDR3 RAM
- 700 MNz DDR

To sum up the important stuff regarding XBL:

There will be two versions of Xbox Live. Silver is free (everyone gets it), and Gold is a paid subscription, like the current XBL. It looks like Xbox Live will be free on the weekends for everyone; Gold members will get it all the time, obviously. Current Xbox Live accounts will carry over to the 360 and become Gold Xbox Live accounts. Both Gold and Silver members will be able to download demos, trailers, and other content through XBL.

This info seems pretty legit, and some insiders have confirmed that this is indeed a real leak. At this rate, you have to wonder if Microsoft will have anything left to reveal at the MTV unveiling on May 12!

PLEASE POST ALL REPLIES HERE NOW!

PRICE!
he sweet spot for the cost of a new console at launch is $299. This is a good estimate of what a core package will cost for Xbox 360. Right now we know that every system comes with a twenty gigabyte hard drive. The system is DVD ready out of the box and we have seen the remote, but there is no word on whether that will come packaged with the console. The bundle has become an incredibly popular sales technique, so don't be surprised to see more comprehensive bundles that include controllers and peripherals for around $500.

We still haven't seen any games running on the PS3, so who knows. I've seen the specs, and comparison charts, they seem pretty close. The systems handle the technology in different ways, so it's really anybody's guess on what they can squeeze out of the two consoles. Microsoft and Sony are both spewing out all kinds of rhetoric, so I don't know who to believe.

Don't triple post you prick, you know the rules. Why didn't you just edit the original post?

What?

:
B:It would have been confusing.
It wasn't already?

Anyway, those specs are A: Not reliable and B: Hard to compare because there are way too many variables to be messed with. Considering all that stuff, like integrated cores and different types of memeory and graphics cards, we can't really tell what will have better graphics.

Besides, we haven't seen any real game footage for the PS3, so again, you can't decide.

I've seen the 360 as well, and there are a ton of beautiful games (Kameo being one of the less beautiful in my opinion), but we still can't compare it to the PS3.

I mean, sure it'll be great to play all your old games on your new fancy Xbox 360...but why? Your not going to wanna look at that old thing after a month or two at the most,so really you should think about it more.

Then you'd have to find freinds who still remember Halo 2 and who want to play it OR you can play single player again which most people hated cause they didnt wanna play as an elite but like i said if you REALLY wanna continue playing that game then keep your old Xbox until you do get sick of it.
