Native Can Star Wars Ep3 Be Saved?

This article got me thinking...http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4980465

We all know Star Wars Ep1 and Ep2 were just disgusting. The horrible thing was, I was trying to convince myself they were good because I was a huge Star Wars fan at the time.

So, if you were in control of Star Wars Episode 3, what would you do to save the prequel from impending doom?

The Star Wars movies are are mostly about Anikan Skywalker's life, that's what i think.
And this is the part when we will see Anikan becomeing Darth Vader.
And Lucas said that Star Wars Episode III will be more darker. I hope it will be good.

Well, we will find out what the film is going to be. It's one thing that this one is the connection between the Classic Trilogy and the new films. Episode I and II were too emotional to me, especially Episode II. But the Gungans in Ep I... And the battle on Naboo, with Jar Jar's craziness, with the Battle Droid on his leg... How come a Battle Droid's blaster knock a Destroyer Droid out anyway? They have shields and stuff, even Jedi have difficulties with them. But nooo, Jar Jar going Rambo killing every single droid with a 'corpse' of a Battle Droid.

If I were in charge, I would put more battle scenes, Way Of The Jedi - stuff and less emotion.

I'm still a Star Wars fan, but I like the Classic Trilogy more than the new movies.

I think that article is rubbish. They don't need to get rid of Lucas, just hire a good script editor and everything is still okay. You have to admit that he still has an eye for amazing imagery, all he needs is some strong characterisation.

Get rid of Jar Jar (they said he won't die in episode 3 though). General Greivous look cool.

Dude Eps 3 is going to bridge the old trilagy with the new. Ships from Eps 4 are going to be in this like the Tantive 4. Plus Chewbaca is comming back but he is going to look stronger because he is younger. The twins will be born and we are suppose to see the construction of the first Death Star. The fight between Anakin and Obi Wan takes place in several locations, one inside a control room, two high above power cables over a Valcano and three on the rim of the Volcano. Spy reports mentions Anakin uses his choke hold on Padme.

There's no doubt in my mind that Episode 3 will make a lot of money. I sure hope it doesn't suck, because Lucas let me down with his two previous installments.

Okay George, if you're reading this...pay attention, I have some good tips for you.

Firstly, Special Effects are supposed to blend into the background...seamlessly combined with the set and actors...not take over the screen. Your special effects are so rediculous that it draws away from the story. The actors look like they're walking around in a video game world.

Next...you have great actors working for you. Let them act! Ewan McGregor has proven himself in other movies. If I'd only judged McGregor from seeing Star Wars, I'd think he was terrible at acting and should be shot.

Good writing would also help. I suggest letting someone work closely with you and do all your writing whilst you have the plot and ideas fed to him/her. You've shown me twice that you're not a good writer.

That's all for now. Contact me if you need more help.

I've always wondered how they will cover this:
The lightsaber fights in episodes I and II are way, way, way more intense than the lightsabering in episodes IV, V, and VI. I saw Darth Vader and Obi Wan duking it out Jedi Style in one of the earlier movies, and it was ... dull.
I dunno. It's always bugged me.

I can't wait for "The Duel" between Master and a Apprentice, Obi Wan and Anakin, with Duel of the Fates playing in the background. A lot of stuff from the Original Trilogy looks to make an appearance. namely Darth Vader, Star Destroyers, Tantive V, the old corridors from like the death star and such, Early X wings, Early Tie Fighters, and we are getting a huge space battle at the beginning of the movie, and the Clonetroopers look even more with their design especially the helmets like Storm Troopers, Anakin not being a whiner, and killing jedis, Palpatine fighting Yoda, General Grevious...the list goes on. I still enjoyed all the Star Wars movies the Original Trilogy the most because I have been watching those since I was 3 years old. But the series as a whole comes in right behind LOTR almost tied for me. When all six are availble to watch it will be just awesome in my opinion. I mainly judge the films as a series instead of separately.

Yeah once the third one is on DVD I plan on with my mates to have an all six Star Wars Marathon. Its going to be awesome. You have to look at all six films because the saga is like one huge story kind of like LOTR.

I see the new Star Wars films as totally different movies than the old ones. I loved the old ones...the new ones are sooo dissapointing. I really hope that this next one isn't lame.

I was watching ROTJ today.

ROTJ is an excellent film I would have to say The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite of the SW films, but ROTJ is still just as awesome too. It gives me chills still when Vader turns and picks up the Emperor and throws him down the reactor core.

Personally I think Star Wars needs to die and be remembered for what it was. I don't think it's ever going to be able to give what it did in it's day, it's been tapped out. I'm tired of it.

Instead of backtracking throughout his series I think Lucas should have grown a set and continued it. I think it takes all the flavor out of it. Ooh, I wonder if Anakin will turn evil? The special effects are way overblown and the directing is straight up hamfisted. Also, need I mention the travesties that are Jar Jar and mitochrondria? Any guy who can fit two disasters that glaring into one movie should be shot before he unleashes more cinematic horrors upon the world. Doubters, witness Episode II. I mean, my God, I lost all hope for Georgie Boy after those two colossal screw ups.
