Hidden Stuff

This is a quote from that new Real Time Crew interview:

"And the Real Time Department let us in on this little secret: One of their developers (who shall remain nameless) found out that there was enough memory to put a movie in the level of the game he was working on. The team was thrilled to discover they could add this sort of ambience. They were so excited that it became an inter-office competition: How much cool "hidden" stuff could you cram into a level? Of course they wouldn't tell us where to find those tidbits, or how many there are. That's up to you!"

I don't know if this has already been discussed but thought it was interesting.

Hidden movie? Sounds weird. It's probably some sort of goofy slap-stick kinda cut scene. Im gonna scour every level so I can find it!

Hmm, I don't know, are you sure he was talking about the Xbox version, or was this when it was going to the PlayStation 2, because OWI cut out a lot of stuff for the Xbox version. If it is the Xbox version, I pretty much covered MO, and didn't find any hidden movies.

If someone finds them, please tell us where to go .

This was taken from the official Microsoft X-Box site and you can find the link for this NEW page on the front of Oddworldian or Xavier-san's site...

They are probably talking about that slig movie in the factory level where abe has to go invisible, grab a sleeping slig, and toss him into a minefield, and if the slig misses the minefield, then munch can use a crane to pick him up and drop him in. Don't you remember the movie? It was grainy and in black and white and was on a big screen in the level. All it showed were sligs marching.

What RoN_Rancor said might be what they are talking about. If not, they should just tell us where it is, instead of just wandering around the game looking for it, which is near impossible anyway.

I've been looking through topics here, and apparently Wise Abe is obsessed with the idea that they cut things out for the xbox version.
Now, I'm not one-hundred percent sure, but I'm betting they cut it out no matter the system. If it was on playstation, the things that were cut out would STILL be cut out, maybe even more would be cut out. There wouldn't be 4 endings, or anything.
The xbox can hold and do more things than the playstation2 can, so why cut out "because of the xbox"?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but thats what all your posts seem to be getting to.

Exaggeration:
(Wise Abe: If it was on playstation it would have thousands of levels and 50 ending movies but since they put it on crap-box they cut it all out because it can't handle it.)

I never got that vibe from Wise Abe-san...

and when ANY OF US say they "cut stuff out for the X-Box" we don't mean because of the hardware but because of the transition that ate up valuable production time and coding problems associated with the console move.
