PS2: Should I get it chipped?

Okay, I'm thinking of getting my PS2 mod chipped ... mainly so I can import some games. It's out of it's warranty period now anyway, so that's not an issue for me.

So do you guys think it's a good idea, or can it damage your system or someting? I heard a lot of people get it done, but I just wanted to know some opinions.

Also, how much does it usually cost. I was told about $300 Australian dollars, which is expensive.

Abe Babe...

I don't know anything about them damage-wise but I don't think you should. What if they make a deal of "Trade in your PS2 for some form of cheaper PS3" like the PS1 ones in the future. I don't know if they would accept a chipped one. But what would I know, I chase moths with cushions.

Tsk,tsk,tsk.
It's not a good idea to chip your PS2-you might break your console.

My friend has got his chipped, and nothing ever has gone wrong with his.

Definately get it chipped. A problem of buying consoles like that is not that the console is expensive. Its the game that are expensive. When i got my Ps1. I got it chipped right away. So i can play burned games which is only $2 eachs . While buying at some places cost $90.

Also if it breaks or gets freaky, your PS2 that is, and you send it in for some fixing up. They will remove the chip. If you try playing on the net like MasterChief said, you also would get banned from it.

Best of luck to you, what ever you do. Tell us how it goes.
