In the small writing actually on the concept art itself, on the bottom of the image. Since it's not actually the textual content of the book, I'll dare quote it at the risk of being sued for billions. It says “Maggie on the Sedan chair flanked by her personal guard [they're what look like the Gloktigi-shaped females - looking now at the dates, this image predates the familiar Octigi Family chart by a month, so they're probably actually Gloktigi, just an earlier design.

], about to deal with Mullock.”
Molluck is spelled wrong, clearly.

That's concept art, so I don't really think we need to worry about that.

Seconded - looking into things even closer than ever before, there are models of the slug-bodied Sam, suggesting that is the more final design, and the one attached in the first post is obsolete, though interesting.

Now, I was fully anticipating this kind of attack, so I prepared a response.

Since this is production art, its only value could be to learn more about the characters through looking at the way their designs evolved over time. If this is the case, the purchaser of the book will also be interested in the footnotes, as these will provide even more explicit information.
In other words, sod off, I payed for this book, I'll get as much out of it as I want to.
