The next Oddworld Music Video

Oddworld Music Video Vol. 3
Expected release date:
30th December 2005

Storyboarding has begun for the next Oddworld Music Video. But before I get into that, a more disappointing announcement: I (kindoff) regret to say that MO will not get a music video. The game had to little movies and to little action to make a decent Music Video with. So for the time being it's being skipped, maybe to pop up afterall later on.
And thus, since MO is being skipped, the next Oddworld Music Video will feature Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath

Even though OSW doesn't have much more movies then MO does, in comparison they are a LOT longer, and a LOT more action packed. So the Stranger is next up in the spotlights

What I am requesting from the fans:

Suggestions for the song. Although I already have one or two songs I have my eye on, I would like to hear the ideas from fans. What song do you think would perfectly fit Stranger's adventure?
Stranger Fan Art. If you're an awsome (or not so awsome) artist and you love to see some of your work featured in the next Oddworld Music Video, post it in this topic and if you're lucky you will see it back in the final video. This is an idea I'm having now, I'm not promising I will actualy use any fan art as it might not fit the movie in the end.

Fan Art Submission Date
I am aiming for a release around newyear, so everyone wanting to submit fan art please do so before 28th December, so I might be able to sqeeze your submission in at last notice.

Munch Oddysee movies
Even though no video of Munch Oddysee is currently planned, I would still like to have the movies. I would obviously get them myself, but I kind of lost my game, not to mention last time I checked the save games were all deleted so I didn't have the movies anymore anyway. If you can help in getting me the MO movies, it would be appreciated.
Do note though: They need to be of good quality. No stuttering, black screens or other crappy quality. That includes size. If the frame size of the movie is no bigger then your average forum signature banner, don't even bother sending

I could probably whip up some Stranger art for ya.

Song-wise... something with a cowboy feel to it without being a country music song (OH GOD, PLEASE!). Guitar twangs and all that. I don't know of a specific song, but use that as a jumping-off point.

Munch videos: I'll see if I can get them off of the DVD. Best quality there is.

You have the DVD?! Damn you! Forget ripping them off, make an image and send me the entire thing! Or copy it and send it trough mail. I WANT that DVD!

Bad news, Havoc. I can't get the files off of the DVD.
I don't think it's legal to do so here anyway.

I'll try and do some Stranger art, though.

It would be awesome to have all the Oddworld movies away from the DVD...

I'm looking forwad to the next one, but could you please put Vol. 3 and change Vol. 2 into Windows media Player format, as I don't have the program for Volume 2 to work, nd I don't really want to donwload it unless I have to. Please? And as for m,usic, any sort of western-style music with an Oddworldy taste to it, guitar strumming and unusual sound effects. A sort of a cross between a western movie's theme track and the song the Interns have playing in their headphones in that cutscene in Vykkers' Labs from MO.

Munch's Master, if I were to use any other codec to compress the movies in, the file sizes would be so extremely high (100's of MB's) or the quality of the video would be extremely low (teh P1x3ls!!!!). To avoid both, I use the DivX codec, which works perfectly to have a low file size with a good quality video. Quite a lot of clips you find on the internet use it, actualy, and it's just a plug in for Windows Media player so you can still just play the files with it. The codec you download will only make sure Windows Media Player supports it.

I'm kinda looking for western style music, but would anyone know any specific artist or band or whatever which might make that kinda music? Cuz I have a lot in my playlist, but not that stuff :P. HELP! :P

Thx for the info on it Havoc, I might download it, as I have (Like you said) foun that there are quite a few videos online that don't work on my computer's current WMP system.

I have an idea for a song ... but it's not western-type at ALL.
I suggest Closer, by Nine Inch Nails. It might work ... at least with game footage from later in the game.
Or, that song you sent me ... Feels Good. That'd be an interesting song to go with a SW-themed video.

I'll have to go watch the other videos.

Uh... thanks for the suggestion... but I reaaaally don't think thats going to work at ALL :P. If only it's becouse of the lyrics XD. The music itself might work, but no. Thanks anyway.

Oh. Lyrics. I forgot about those... I wasn't thinking of them when I made the suggestions.
How about the theme to "The Sopranos" from HBO? If you need the song I can send it to you.
And I checked out the other videos, daunted at first by the filesizes ... but placated later at the job you did. Kudos!
