Arrow Mac's Little Art Thread...thing

Yeah, so here's some of my stuff.

First I'm going to post some characters from a web cartoon I'm working on. Its tenative title is Lunch with Benson. It takes place at a highschool. It follows the main character, Benson, as he goes through life making fun of everyone else. It's absolutely dripping with sarcasm. I'll go into some of the deeper story elements later.

Anyways, here's Benson (left) and his homeslice Graydon (right).

And here's the French teacher, Madame Bellamy.

This is a fairly good representation of the school setting...very dark with that twisted perspective style.

Tomorrow I will post some of the characters that live in Benson's mind. Heh. They're more...fun.

Haha, thanks!

I actually first draw them, then ink them, then scan them and import them into Flash, and then trace over them and optimize them. Kinda long process, but I like how they come out.

I'm working on the storyboards and animating the opening scene right now, but I'll be sure to notify you when it's done.

Hmm. I like it. Kind of a simplistic Jhonen Vasquez meets Home Movies style. Come to think of it, it's really bizarre. Oh well. It's good.

BTW, when after you ink your drawings, do you go over in fill in ALL the black in Flash, or is it just straight ink?

Jesus, that is great stuff. It's simple, but in it's own way it's very emotive.

Great work I'd give it 11 stars, but I'm allowed only 10 *sniff*

Alcar...

Brillant absolutly brillant work my friend. Tell me do you want to go into cartooning as job one day? You know being a story board artist or conceptual artist?

You definetly have talent and if you can use the digital medium then your going places my friend!

See take note you inspireing artists around here and use this inspiration to learn in your own work. Thats what part of being a professional artist is all about. Learning from other artists work and applying that knowledge to your own stuff. OWI artist do that.

Whoa, thanks for all the great feedback my homies. I'm glad you all like it.

PA, I really hope to get a job in cartooning/animation someday..it would be so much fun.

Now in the show, whenever Benson is faced with a decision time stops and some freaks pop up. They symbolize the different emotions, feelings and choices that get caught up in making a decision. Man, this is hard to explain...it probably sounds lame. But anyways. It's just like a physical representation of the thought process he goes through when making a decision. They all argue about what he should do, and in the end one emotion dominates the decision.

Here's two of those characters: Disdain and Misery.
