Alien vs Predator

whoever wins......we lose

i wanna see this soo bad! it looks bitchin'
i loved the predator movies aswell as some of the alien movies

surely this on will make up for any of their bombers.
Watch the trailer!

it's directed by the same guy who did Resident Evil, and i thought that was pretty good seeing how he's new to the director business

I read a thing about the plot on IGN. The whole plot idea sounds pretty cheesy, but the fact that its both Aliens AND Predators should hopefully make up for it.

And if it sucks... I'll will be mad. Quite mad. Same thing if they screw up Alien 5.

Aha, I did hear about this, although not Aliens 5. I loved all the Alien movies and the Predator movie, although I didn't see the sequal. Is Sigourney Weaver going to be in either of these? I ask because in an interview she said there was no way in hell she would, because she hates it when franchises sell out. I'll be pretty miffed too if that's what they've done.

EDIT: I say sell out, although Xenomorphs and the Predator take place in the same fictional universe, as we see in the second movie, from the Xenomorph skull in the Predator's ship.

Yes, that's right, I haven't seen that film, but I've read about it.

well, they say alien vs predator was "hinted" when you see the Xenomorph skull in the predators ship, i don't know if Sigourney Weaver is in it, i only know a few things.

The story is:
As we know, some beleived the ancient peoples who built their large structures like pyramids and temples had help from the aliens in the construction of such masses, and in the movie, these aliens were the predators. Well, a group of scientists are out in the arctic and they stumble upon an anient temple under ground.
5 teenage predators have been sent to earth to become men, and to reach this status they must defeat a group of Xenomorphs and win. Whoever wins.....we lose.

Sigourney Weaver wasn't in any of the 'starring' lists, but then neither were any names I recognised. It's often good to use an unknown cast, as it adds life and reality to a series, but it does seem a bit of a cop out.

That plotline sounds poo. I heard that aload of Scientists were doing experiments with Xenomorphs when [surprise-surprise] they all escape and seeing this as a thooper opportunity to hunt, the Preds come down to boogie...and chaos insues. The version i heard is better.

IGN is loading damn slow right now, so i won't find the link.

If I remember, there were old anceint structures that were used as training grounds for predators. The sceintists in Antarctica discover it or something. Thats all I really remember right now. The team goes in though, and people die. IGN compared the team to that of Jurassic Park's. Pretty much, the plot is going to be cheesy and lame, but hopefully the action will make up for it.

Xenomorphs are cool, but predators are by far superior.

I love their social hierarchy. Especially since it eventually becomes complex enough to humor the ideas of pride, arrogance, honorable deaths, and so forth...Yet at the same time, constantly maintaining the basic pecking order we all know and love.

I just hope they don't suddenly have predators speaking english. That would disgust me.

Then again, resident evil sucked ass.

This will most likely take place during the past and not the future. If you think about it Riply and crew of the Nostromo and the whole plot of Alien took place in the future. This will take place in our time as the past or sort of prequel I bet. In Alein there is evidence of a possible preditor. Remember the Derlect? The ancient spaceship the Xenomorph was found in where Kain was impregnated by the creature? Well before they entered into the egg chamber of the ship there was a petrified creature in the center of a huge control room. In many ways it looks like a Preditor that was impregnated by an alien. Which could mean that the Preditors are not only bounty hunters but scientists which supports your claim. And the Preditors have large ships that can be centers for holding expieremnetal specimens from uncharted worlds such as the Xenomorph. Now here is the conceptual art work done by Giger of this petrified creature that was found in the Derlect in Alien. Could this be a Preditor? And if so could the Derlect be directly linked to this movie? Like they find the Xenomorphs on the same world and then the Preditors capture thousands of eggs and hold them in their ships but something horrible goes wrong and the Aliens infest the Derlect which will eventually be discovered by the Nostromo astronauts later in the Future. Thus resulting in whoever wins we lose. What if this movie takes place on the Alien's home world and not earth. Thats a scenero. It would explane on how the ship got on the world in the first place before it was taken aboard the Nostromo.

In a lot of ways this looks a lot like Preditor technology to me at least.

I remember seeing that in when I saw the rerelease of Alien, but it's not a Predator. Your trying to take 2 movies of the the relatively same genre, and find connections between them. Most of which would be coincidental, anyways. Plus, its skull is too round.

A vs P DOES take place in the presentish era though. The basic plots been released...

u serious i thought that everyone has heard of or seen the predator movies by now

well predators are a technical advance race that use thier technology for hunting other species it is their culture

is the AvP movies set in antartica cos i thought predators prefer to hunt in hot areas? hmm i would've prefered the movie to be set in the same time as the alien movies so that the humans could have a better chance with the smart gun an all

Yautja, or "predators" are a race of aliens much cooler then xenomorphs (aliens). They are a hunting race. In predator 1 a single predator hunted a special forces squad in the jungle. In predator 2 erm...1... predator hunted a police office in LA. They have a strong code of honour to hunt only an even match. In predator 2 you see the predators skull collection, and aliens head in the collection.

Say what now? The Aliens (Xenomorphs, whatever you wish to call them) are SO much cooler. Who needs technology when people are afraid of your blood, you can climb on walls, create hives out of your spit and bite peoples heads off with your second mouth? Eh? BEAT THAT MISTER WEAPONS!

As Josh, has already mentioned it , I was recently playing Alien vs Predators 2 in where it might seem that Predators have all the advantage being a advanced race and so on, but my personal favourite would have to be the Xenomorphs as nothing can match the power of fear with a combo of lightning movement and a hive mentality leaving us Humans at a BIG disadvantage. So in the end it all ends up being a Quality verses Quantity match (I cant wait for this dam movie to come out)

I've heard of it. In fact, my friend once talked me through the first ten minutes of it as he watched until I got bored and hung up.
Thanks for the info. ferill. What do they actually look like? Humans? Aliens? (I have seen Alien and Aliens for what it matters).

AvP2 online is quite thooper. Especially as an Alien against a Pred or Marines. Just being able to leap through the air to different buildings and then scurry around them out of sight is thooper. That and lurking in the shadows and stalking them...

Hmmm...i need broadband and a PC that works. This ones being a hoe and not allowing me to play games on my PC...Grrrr

That is one ugly mothaf-...

But actually, you CAN hide from them, as shown in Perdator 2. I really liked the part where the cop cuts of the hand of the Pred with its own razor disk. And the Pred ending up burning its own arm to close the wound.

First "Freddy Vs Jason" now "Alien Vs Predator".

I know these movies are a sell out but I think it's great that they are rehashing a dead genre. Just look at it, if the made another sequel to Aliens, chances are it would flop. But by adding it to another genre, it's almost a certain No.1 hit.

So what other pairing would you like to see clash on the big screen?

Batman Vs Superman is coming out soon, aswell.

Dunno which creatures i want to clash, i suppose Venom Vs Carnage would be a good fight, but that would probably be sorted in 'Spiderman 3'...
