Native where all the odd go?

I remember the good old days of abe's oddysee and exoddus. I felt a lot more for the characters in those games. I actually preferred those one hit kills because it increased the players understanding of abe's fragility, but importance as well. My main complaint, is that in terms of gameplay, much's oddysee did not evolve from its precursors. There was much hype about being able to grow animals into differnet forms depending on what you fed them. Also what happened to the hierarchy system. Big Bro sligs cant command littlen sligs what to do. Glukkons cant tell sligs what to do. And sligs cant tell slogs what to do.In fact, there is functional communication except between abe/other mudokons, and munch/fuzzles. Scrabs are not longer territorial. paramites cant talk to each other to solve puzzles. IN terms of gameplay much's oddysee took two steps back, resorting to the played out "collecting rountine" so many games follow. The oddworld games are still my favorite games, however, oddworld just isn't so odd anymore.

Yes, Munch's Oddysee was very different to the rest of the Oddworld games. But, I can't see why everyone was so upset about it. It was as good as any other platformer/action game.

Only, we were being stuck up morons and expecting something of a higher class. At the time, Oddworld didn't have the time to do anything better than what they did. They put all they had into MO in the space and time they had, and I can't see why so many people are peeved off about it.

anyway, yes it is true that the MO gameplay was not as good as the privious games, and it is also true OWI promised us lots of things and interaction, but they coldn't give us everything they promised.

That's why they don't say anything about their next game...

Xavier and Alcar are right. MO was completed in a short time when they made the switch to X-Box. When that happen OWI had to go back and quickly rebuild the game in a certain amount of time, thus resulting in what we got now. Now OW4 is going to be different and much much better than MO because one they are not spilling out any information, two the fact they are doing that is a good sign that what they are making is something truely original and finally three the time they are spending on this next game is much longer than that of MO.

Even Lorne Lanning himself told us that the next is like nothing you ever seen before. That alone is exciding. So there is hope!

Ok, so I haven't been in GD for quite a while now, but I see still nothing has changed: No new news at all!
I know the reason we are to believe we are not finding anything out about OW4 is because if we don't get it we will be disappointed. But there is not going to be a platform change like last time! OWI will not have big plans and then have them cut short by time!
Many of you say we are lucky we get as much fan interaction as we do but this is not true. I have been frequenting the Team 17 (Worms) forums for a few weeks now and they have their staff going on and replying to threads every couple of days. They are teaching the fans new things and getting them excited. OWI are trying not to let us down with the final product but they are losing the interest of fans by doing so!

That's my 2 and half cents. Feast.

Yes... Facsimile seems to have the right idea.

However, I like to view the MO game as a testbed for the 3d style, and an introduction to the whole new look.

The unfortunate thing is that the facilities in MO are merely pathetic remnants of the bigger companies in remission from abes attack on the magog cartel. MO is merely a 3rd person tactical puzzler, that has not built on the original two. And the graphics are nothing compared to the spectacular rendered sprites of AO and AE.

But, the Oddworld team now have the time to work on all the things they wanted in the last one.

Think about it in OW4 we are probabaly going to be seeing: Meetles and Mugs, the queens, MudFlubs, Slig towers or slig tosses, Life cycles in the characters, Game speak unlike anything we seen before, Sligs climbing up ladders to get to you, An unexpected challenging gameplay, Maybe even the Sea Rex, Sligs smoking, possably vending bombs, Khanzumers, Chroniclers possably, Possible return to Rupture Farms, Recycling Machines that actually have the status board saying pretty crazy stuff like when you throw a slig in it would say 20% Fat 5% protean 1%usable. And of course there will be new things aswell.

I alweys loved that old quicktime movie of MO when the slig came down the ladder and started smoking. Abe snuck up behind him picked him and brought him over to the recycle machine and threw him in.

Thats all I can think of at the moment if anything else do tell!

I designed a fairly cool level for OW4, with a station and a big FeeCo Iron Horse sitting there. I made it so you could go up and down the steps and inside and around the boilers and the control turret. The objective was to take the muds out of the boilers and back to the safety of a nearby bird portal.

Pretty crazy really, but I thought it looked quite cool.
