What's going to happen when OWI comes out with the fifth game of the quintology (IF there's fifth game)? What's next after that?

They're probably going to come out with different games that don't have to do with Munch or Abe and stuff. Maybe they'll start making intirley different games that don't have anything to do with Oddworld, like racing games. That would suck though. I doub that they'll just drop Oddworld cause it made them so much moolah. I think they'll make a new quintoligy but with different characters, like Sligs and shtuff. I persionaly don't know what they'll do but thats only my theory. I wish Kaimana would come back, he always had a good theory when he was needed. Yo Kaimana hurry up!

Wow. Thanks Oddling. I'm hoping they won't just let the Oddworld thing drop like Dow Jones, ya'know? Mayne they'll have a new continent with new heroes or something. Who knows? Only time will tell.

After the Quintology is finished, OWI will focus on the Habitales and Fearietales series. Habitales will focus on the everyday life and survival methods of the species (I think). I think HoO is a Habitales game. Fearietales will focus on the spookier and mystical elements of Oddworld. I think that's all we know now.

Well i would say that OWI as the company goes (Oddworld Inhabitants) plans to stick to oddworld for the sole purpose that that is what they are all about. there are so many things OWI can do with Oddworld . it is much more then simply Abe and Munch. it is a huge world that would take years to unravel. look how long it took man to study all the aspects of earth, and they still havent discover everything. it is a good bet that OWI will continue.

there will be 2 other series:
Fearietales: with lots of black magic and spiritual stuff
Habitales: with games like Hand Of Odd

They wouldn't even if they didn't have the exclusivity contract with Xbox - whenever they have an inhabitant interview and ask what they think of the Xbox move the inhabitants always talk about how difficult the PS2 was to code for. And I read an article the other day that said that the PS3 will be even worse!

Thats interesting. So the films will be all CGI? As I expect it to be. It should be really cool to see how they convert the games or at least part of the games into a series of films wich you have mentioned Xavier. I cant wait till these come out. I can imagine it will take some time however. But to see Oddworld as a Motion Picture Theatrical Film will be very nice I hope.

in fact there are 5 films planned. one for each character.
it will be= the game story + some littles stories = one film

about those movies, OWI better watch out and not think it's gonna be a success in any way. they'd better work hard, cuz I think u all know what happened to the FinalFantasy movie. big mess!

A lot of you have already responded with what I was going to say (i.e. with the future series, and movies). But I did want to point out that Oddworld Inhabitants (the company) will only ever make games involving Oddworld. You would never see them make a game that involved humans for example.

I did read somewhere in an interview with Lorne that there is always a possibility that an Oddworld character may be licenced to appear in another game. Like in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts game which is a Disney game made by Square, they will be featuring some of the Final Fantasy characters in minor roles. Although that is a bit of a different situation, I was using it to illustrate the possibility that Oddworld characters just "may" turn up in minor roles of other games in the future. Knowing Oddworld though, these games and companies would have to share the same ideals as OWI do (like you'd never see an Oddworld character in a game like Grand Theft Auto 3) or many of the 1st person shooters.

P.S. I loved the Final Fantasy movie... I saw it 16 times in the cinemas. *Wonders how many times I'll see the Oddworld movie when it comes out* The main problem was that it was too complex/required too much thinking for a "see once" movie (watch it several times and you begin to understand it more), and it was not "Final Fantasy" enough for FF fans, but tried to reach a more mainstream science fiction audience. It wasn't a blockbuster, but it didn't flop as bad as some movies out there. Anyway, enough of that in this forum.

hmm, maybe u're right Abebabe, but I would definately not like to see an OW movie with Abe as an FMV char, and everybody else real actors...

as of no humans in OWI games, that's quite obvious, or they'd have to call themselves Earth Inhabitants, in the future...
