The Habitales are two separate series of Oddworld games that focus less on the individual issues faces by particular characters, and more of the economy/ecology type thing as a whole. Their only connection with the Oddworld Quintology is that they take place on Oddworld.

The Habitales take the time to show us the lives the Oddworld Inhabitants - you'l be able to control entire eco-systems and manage businesses, all the things the characters of Oddworld do on a day-to-day basis. Here we see the lives of Oddworldians when they're not martyring their species or trying to prevent terrorist infilltrations, though these will most certainly be allowed in the gameplay. Hand of Odd will be the first in the Habitales series.

In a twisted parody, the Fearietales give us the jibb of Oddworld's dead - you control the spiritual nature of the plants and wildlife, you are the forces that Mudokons call Spooce - you are the fashionably dead. No voilance, just grass-growing peace.

Hope that helps.

this is a quote form the abes exodus manual:[the habitales series allows users to experience the days in th elife of many of the creatures fo oddworld as they struggle for survival and balance in their natural enviroments. no guns no points, no timers, no saving the world. jsut keep your own arse and offspring in one piece to live and propagate in an on-growing, simulated onwardly evolving virtual habitat. the faerietales series bops you beyond the mortal realm and tunes in live with the fashionable dead. this massive mystery series raises the interactive world to a whole new level of deeply disturbing entertainment. no blood no guts jsut grass roots spiritual and psychological horror from the other side. not for the week hearted. watch for further developments.]

as i understand it in these two sereis you will play differnet characters. i dont think you will be able to control whole ecosystems because that is more a hand of odd thing.

You have to have more than 5 games to fit all that into a quintology

Sounds kind of like an Oddworld version of Sim City. That'd be sweet!

In the Habitales you will be able to control whole eco-systems - Hand of Odd is the first game in the Habitales series.

The Habitales and Fearietales are an entirely different series from the Oddworld Quintology - there's no indication at all of how many of these games there are going to be.

Yeah, like SimCity, except in SimCity you place buildings, and here you have to tell other to build buildings, and similar stuff.

The Habitales and Fearietales will not be part of the Quintology.
