Wired What do you want the Oddworld motion pictures to be like?

What style of movie do you want to see Oddworld in as a film?
Live action or anamation like Pixar films and other computer animated movie cartoons?

I for one would like to see Oddworld filmed in Live action. Think of it OWI can make their movie just like Jurassic Park or Star Wars. They can add CG characters along with real life characters. The real life characters could be in real extrordinarly detailed costumes sort of like Star Wars where they have the actors interact with CG characters. Lanning obveously would play the role as Abe of coarse and producer. They can make Abe the way they made Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars. They had Ahmed Best doing all the movements and then later they edited the CG model over Ahmed. OWI could do the same thing with the characters of Oddworld. That way the movie would look real and not some sort of computer animated cartoon. Thats what I want to see. Pretty much what I am saying is film it live action in front of blue screen elements and then edit those elements into the CG enviorments but make them look real not look like a cartoon. That is how I would like to view it. How would you like to view the Oddworld Movies?

I think it would be intresting if they use the same technique as Shrek. but defenitly not with real parts in the game (I mean actors).
It would be cool it will be like all the movies in AO, that would be unique!

Very amusing. They would be humans painted all blue and have a cone with fake bald cap with a pony tell over it (trying to be mudokons) and they run and the paint sweats off and you can see the cut clips when they re-painted the mudokons.

Sligs, are robots and they run and you can see the smoke and burning wires flaring out and the sligs shuts down and falls on the ground and catches on fire! Bwahahha!

And then you can see the microphone onto the side and the camera man accidentally walks in and goes "oops!" and then he shoots the camera off to the left and there is a fat man back stage eating donuts.

AS soon as the slig is fixed he has a line like this "here bwoy...here bwoy..here bwoy.." and then he catches on fire and malfunctions again and the slog (rotroller trying to be a dog) thinks he's a fire hydrate because there was water coming out of the sligs ears and he starts to do his business and the guy goes "Cut! Cut! This will never work!!"

and the rest of the creatures are in costumes and through the scrabs mouth you can see a human face.

Just CGI Animation would do me. With Star Wars you could tell that when the actual actors were speaking to Jar Jar. Jar Jar wasn't really there...

Oddworlds movies will be CG, thats what they where planning from the beggining but they just didn't think the tecnology was powerfull enough to make the movies like they wanted them. Thats one of the reasons that they switched the stories to videogames among others. As for the live background and CG characters idea.... well I do think its a great idea but Oddworlds enviorments are to hard to duplicate, of corse the all resemble some type of enviorment on Earth but each of them have alot of uniuqe twists to them.

hehe I am talking about blue screen elements. Look at Episode 2 half of that movie was filmed in cg but also filmed in front of Blue screens. If Oddworld is like that then that would be a very interesting task indeed. I am talking about half and half.

There are ways to edit out the real acters. They did it with Jar Jar and many of the other aleins in the Star Wars Prequels. I thought well they can film Lanning doing what Abe does because he knows Abe best. Then when they are finnished filming they go ahead and put in the CG work.

Yea a fully CG movie will be great too as long as it would be as detailed as Finale Fantasy and that would too be awesome. I just would not want to see something like Toy Story or shrek done on Oddworld ya know?

1. It would be stupid to do that. a) More expensive, b) There's nothing that can be done with live-action filming that can't be done with CG.

2. Ha! Like they'd make something as good as that...

If they can they couldt possibly use humans as dummy's. The humans do the movements and then they renewed them as mudokons by the computer.

Or perhaps they could to as they did the cutscenes in the game, I believe that could be even better...

I don't think Lorne will do Abe just because he did his voice, Lorne is now to important to spend time on that.

Yeah, they should have Lorne painted blue and a bald cap and lose like two or three pounds and he will be perfect.

>MANIACAL LAUGH HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!<

ok, seriously: I think that you can't get much better than the FMVs from the games (except the lip-synching would have to be improved). The reason why George Lucas made Jar-Jar a guy in a suit then later reanimated him is because he was using live actors and they needed someone real to talk to but since in the Oddworld movies all the characters would be animate there would be no point.

The only reason why I think they should go with the plan I said was because It would look interesting if Oddworld was real looking and not a cartoon. Thats all I would like to see. If there are means of creating CG envirorments and charecters to look like they were real and not look computer generated then I am good with that too. The only CG movie that does that is Finale Fantasy that I know of. I don't want to see a Pixar style film for Oddworld ya know?

Oh, and I forgot this:

the vykker ship, is flying with a night time sky with stars (alittle kid drew it, you can still see the white of the paper) and the vykkers ship is really a toy and you can see the string and everything and also, Raisin..is really a talking raisin! . Also, the scrabs and the Elums and the paramites would be mechanical also. And teh guy named joe who was eating donuts, accidentally drops some crumbs in the robots and they malfunction also and they had to make a ship for more paramites, scrabs, etc.

:
computerised? and That means?
Computerized? Well, basically everything done by computer and all the computer graphics and everything that you can't do in real life.
