To fellow artists out there: a challenge
Yes a challenge. I came up with critter description today...and thought I would ask you all to sketch what you think it looked like. Here is the narritive that has it's description (yes I wrote this):
Twelve feet tall it stood and the thing looked like something out of ones nightmares. The head was black with two glowing yellow eyes and a set of orange rams horns. The lower jaw protruded from the upper and sported two large yellowish boar-like tusks. The rest of the head looked almost like it was nothing but a charred and blackened skull. Neck of a horse and covered with a brown lion-like mane, which covered part of its shoulders and continued down most of the back. The arms were muscular and tawny brown in color. The paws a of big cat were its hands, claws extended and looked to be poisoned tipped. Torso was wolf-like and orange in color. The legs was black like a goats, only on either side of the hooves were two extra toes like a komodo dragons. The tail resembled a saltwater crocs and was a moss green. It also had the wings of a falcon, which the feathers were mainly green with blue-green spots.
It snarled at the two trembling figures before it; black smoke curling out of its mouth and nostrils from the hellfire that raged with in it. Then it roared, a roar that shook them to their very soul...
They bolted then, hoping to reach the forest before it decided to attack. They did but it did not matter; it came after them, plowing through the trees as if they were nothing but blades of grass. One of them tripped and fell, his companion forced to leave him behind as the beast was too close behind. There were terrified screams, then silence, silence other then the panicked footfalls of the remaining party.
He entered another clearing and listened. No other sounds other then his own breathing came to his strained ears. Then a shadow passed over him and he looked with horror as the beast landed on all fours with the grace of a cat in front of him. He tried to run again, but his legs were frozen and not obeying him. The beast stalked forward, its tusks now strained red with the blood of his fallen comrade. It took it's time: it knew he couldn't run now. Closer and closer it came with each step; he was starting to feel the heat of the flame within this beast.
"I'm sorry..." he managed to mutter and the beast seemed to laugh. Then it swung one it's paws and he saw nothing after...but the blackness of death.
I have already made my own sketch and got it pretty close to how I envisioned it in my head. I will post it later on. Anyone want to try it?
Edit: A detail I should have put in...the head is a rams (like the horns)
