I was just wondering, on Oddworld it seems things don't run very smoothly or organized. Margret is in trouble with the crhoniclers, no? Is there a possibility of the finiancialy challanged Gluckons waging war against the banking system? The Vykkers most likely have a monopoly (or near) with the science industries, what would happen if there was ever a skirmish with Gluckon relations? That would seemingly be like the American Civil War, the producing industries (Vykkers) with the technology versing the brawns side (Gluckons) with the top security force, and ironicly slaves.
Saldt enough, what would the effects be? The kauzumers would probably suffer the most out of everyone, if banking systems crashed they would have no protection (at least that we know of), or if product circulation was cut off they lose pretty much everything. Vykkers would be able to hold their own, or perhaps even start trouble with prices. No consumers though, so where would that go? Gluckons have factories, the Magog Cartel itself would have the largest army, but what what technology and consumers? What would happen to the slaves? Personal slig servants?
I personaly just find the Oddworld industrial system to be very unstable sounding, and the Vykkers and Gluckons each seem to be hostile and/or very arrogant. If one relation was broken off by a war, total chaos would insue. If relations weren't fixed would the Oddworld econemy premanently be broken, leading to a savge free for all world until everyone dies out? What if a war became flat out destructive, and when it ends no organized econemy is left, much like the movie "The Postman"?
Further more what if a game were placed during a war? WOuld there be an object of Abe rescuing scrubs while Oddworld is in chaos? What if Munch has to protect the younger Gabbits during a war? Where would the Mudokons stand in the whole thing? I think it leaves endless possibilities for a purpose or cause, maybe even a way to tie in all the charaters from future games in the end
Just my thoughts, please reply...
