A Traitor...

What if one of the heros in the quintology is or becomes a traitor. Lets say some sligs capture one of the main characters and bring him before a powerful glukken. The glukken will spare his life if he sets his friends up for a trap. He excepts and gets them all captured later. Or the glukken could implant a device on him, so that someone could control him. It would make an unecspected twist to the usual plot.

What are your thoughts on this topic?

I think abe should be replaced with an evil doppleganger, like the vykkers surgically alter a Khanzumer Mudokon to look like him, and give him evil powers like Abe, so he leads them into a trap. His name would be Obe, and the Gluks would have him pretend to be Abe for a while, so you could play too different kinds of levels, ones where you're just abe, trying to get out of wherever the heck they sent you, and ones where you're obe and the rest of the heros doing normal stuff (but the saved muds always seem to not be home, hmm...). THen, at the end, Obe and Abe could fight as Shrykulls or something (or maybe abe as a Shrykull and Obe as like a weird combo of a slog and a big-bro) while the rest of your crew is dangling over a meat grinder (a la AO). It could be the ultimate battle between good and evil, as most legends about a messiah have an anti-messiah that there is a final climactic clash with.
Or, I could just be really weird.

yeah I don't like that and Sherry McKenna is agains that psycology too

This is an interesting idea, but if there ever where a traitor in the Quintology I would highly doubt that it would be Abe or Munch, it could either be Squeek or one of the others...

You wouldn't set traps for them- anybody ever played FF7? Cait Sith is a traitor, but you controll him towards the same good guy goals anyay, to earn everyone's trust and fool them easily. The glukks would've instructed Obe to play along, so you still want save Muds, up untill the very end. That way he would earn the rest of their trust, and lead them right into glukk hands (?), at the cost of a few measly slaves, instead of wasting massive waves of sligs in the endeavor. Or, it would actually give you a justification for killing them anyway (other than just how fun it is when you've had a bad day)

And, do you really think that OWI would appreciate unsolicited story ideas? I'm sure they get a ton of the things.

If there was a traitor than Odd help us all. Then he could posssibly help all the industrialsts win there battle........
