ME wish list

I havn't played MO yet because I live in Austalia but Ive heard so much about it I almost feel like I have. But I have also heard that it is missing alot of the good stuff from the finnal version. So I was just thinking how could OWI make ME better... So many things came to mind (no offence ment to OWI) that I thought it would be cool to find out what other people would also like to see in it (esspecally people who have acturly played the game).

The one thing that I would like to see is a extention of Munchs part in the game. This would mean for instance that Munchs possesion cappablitys would extend to all technologys including things like Secrity orbs, Slig pants and Intern walkmans (make Interns dance to diferent tunes to move them diferent ways )...
... Now that would be cool.

P.S. Great news, it is now officaly that Ive saved anuff money from working my butt off this Summer to buy MO and a Xbox!!!

I would really like to see maybe a part where you play as just like a native mudakon like to try and accomplish a goal, maybe be like a mudarcher to add some action it in. you could be like stronger and have the spruce bow or maybe like have more interactive wildlife, cause in MO is seems there are only certain levels dedicated to wildlife so they dont seem very "wild" other than that it seemed pretty nice. few just flat out annoying but easy parts but i was pretty pleased.

uh..for somereason i don't see any reason for Munch possessing a sligs pants when abe could possess the slig....and as fr as remote controlling an Interns cd player..while it WOULD be amusing to make an Intern dance, i see no point to this either...sorry just my 0.02.

I know there would normaly be no point for Munch to do this but it would be good because then he could do it when Abe is not able to for some reason... Like he is dead or somewhere else or already possesing someone. . Plus it would be sort of be more real because he would be possesing ALL technology.

I would Also like to see a better reancarnation (sp?) method. Like whats the deal with Munch coming from a Mudukon egg and why can't Abe just auto respawn with birds like he use to? Abe should have to heal Munch like how Bigface heald Abe.

I'd like to see less of the "what you see is what you get" kind of feel Munch's Oddysee seems to project. One of the things that made AE and AO so immersive was the suggestion that so much more lurks behind every scene you explore. You could look off into the distance and see looming towers filling industrial landscapes or never-ending forests and deserts. Little nooks and crannies in the actual explorable portions of the scene could be investigated. If you're lucky you would fall down a hole and into some lost hideaway, with birds alerted of your presence, they'd fly away.

I'd also like less grandeur placed upon the characters. In Abe's Oddysee, Abe's humble personality made the focus of the game Oddworld itself rather than the antics of the character. Of course, there needs to be an endearing character with a heartfelt story, but there should be some emphasis that the character is a vehicle for exploring Oddworld itself. That's how it felt with Abe.

I loved the gritty, real feeling of AO. To me, Munch's Oddysee has developed a more candied image, with bright green landscapes and honeycombed industrial facilities. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Oddworld has a splendid future... I was just expressing some honest feelings. It's my belief that after Munch, Oddworld will only get better, possibly even returning to the Oddworld we once knew.

Less Abe, more Munch. That's what I wanna see. Of course, sea rexes, shrinks, meetles/mugs, and improvements on MO are on my "ME Wish List." But (and this is just me talking) I would like to see Munch interact with Rats, as well as Fuzzles, in the progress of the game. I suppose Rats could do work for Munch (stepping on pressure plates, exploring the area) while Fuzzles attack Munch's foes. Well, I think it's a good idea, but it will never happen.

Exactly, SeaRex! That's what I have been saying. Less Abe, more Munch. As for future Oddworld games like Squeek, I don't want past characters to come back. It would get very annoying. Think about cycling through 5 characters!

Don't get me wrong... I LOVED Munch's Oddysee (final review coming to Oddworld-Web soon). But in every game there is always something you missed or would like to see.

Mainly I'd love to see the return of hidden areas. Generally the Mudokons and Fuzzles were too easy to find in Munch's Oddysee. I loved the fact in the first two games that you had to actually "find" hidden areas in order to rescue everyone. This is probably because I am an exploring game kind of person... the more I can explore/get lost/have to find things the better.

Other things that would be good (that we had heard about in some of the interviews) include:
  • The whole "what you do early in a game effects later on in the game" aspect
  • The abilty to not kill any creature (including different levels of unpossession, etc), and untimately get another ending
  • More new creatures (the Microsoft games site still says "Interact with 35 different Oddball races" on the Munch's Oddysee page).

Abe Babe...

I want to see a living world in which we could walk almost forever. Like say there is a level in the game where you have to shut down a factory. I want to be abel to walk to that factory in the beginning of the game. That means walking across the countryside on Oddworld. I want to see less spooce and I want your character to form like Abe did when he died in Abe's Oddyssy. With the birds. Slig Tosses and sound effects. Everything we missed in Munch's Oddyssy. Sam Margret, Skillia and so on.
