I've noticed a very scary resemblance!

I've noticed a scary resemblance to our world and oddworld i know thats intentional but the scary part is how mudokons(anerexic vegetarian enviorementalists who are trying to sabotage the glukkons.)And glukkons being hard working meat processors. Abe trying to save mudokons is like enviormentalists trying to break out their comrades who were jailed for the terrible crimes.

Mudokons- Evil Enviormentalists
Glukkons- Hard Workers Being Portrayed as monsters

This is just a thought and i still love muds and hate glukkons and sorry for all the misspellings.

I agree with you in one point: it's not that easy to know who's the bad guy and who is the good guy, if you try to look from diferent points of view. I'm sure the Glukkons consider Abe and his fellows as a bunch of dangerous eco-terrorists who are trying to ruin their profitable business. On the the other hand, the mudokons consider that the glukkons are mercyless industry-terrorists that attempt against their very own world, Oddworld, and are evil enslavers of the free race of the mudokons.

It's up to you to choose your side, as it is a subjective decision.

Except that you can't play the games as a Glukkon... Not until Hand of Odd, anyway.

I have been puzzling over this for quite some time. I originally liked Oddworld for not being a good/evil game. However, I've recently been reassessing my views: the games have actually been fairly black and white up to now, what with the only option being to Kill the bad guys, and the bad guys so far not having any redeeming features. However, the information on oddworld.com is sometimes given more from the Industrials' point of view, allowing us to sympathise with them [for example, it is revealed that sligs are sadistic because they were all mistreated and given no love or attention as children]. This leads me to suspect that as the games go by, Abe will learn more and more about the reasons why the industrials do what they do, and we will start to sympathise more with them, until the series ends with a peaceful resolution, rather than a violent revolution...

Eck, sorry to blabber...

so they are all extremists, and they must try to find the middle to are all agree

Pasifical, but in MO it's a little violent the wars between Muds and Sligs...
They are on the bad way!

MO seems to make Muds seem more cruel. I'd rather try to avoid sligs than create one huge bloody melee. I guees this just proves that muds aren't just "innocent little hippies." Let's just hope they don't go the way of the Mudanchee...

I think Lanning said something about Oddworld being centered around the issues of our world but in his vision of coarse. In which he relates a lot of things of oddworld with the world we live in. Very cool idea. Its original.

The GLUKKONS represent corporations where evil is done.. Where environment is of no concern...

I have nothing against people who work hard, but when it costs us our environment, I'm right there with the muds, beating sligs to death!
It's a great message.. for we need to begin defending....

It's nice to see business concerned for the environment.. recylcing.. managing waste and avoiding animal testing...

There might just be those kind of, inbetween hippy and industrialist business' on Oddworld... the kind that strives for coexistance.. and I'm sure Abe would appreciate those...

Roop--
you really tick me off, know that?

I mean christ,

EVIL ENVIRONMENTALISTS?

Do you live in a god damn prison cell and believe that everything outside is happy and fine?
Do you believe that ozone depletion is a myth created to make sunblock sell?

Get a head on those shoulders...

Sodd, Roop wasn't saying that that was what he thought about environmentalists, he was just saying that that was how it could be interpreted by some people. Don't take things just at face value...

mudokons are based off people and as people who have been mistreated for centuries they believe that there is only one side of the story and that glukkons are evil incarnate of course they aren't and the mudokons take it too far. that’s my interpretation.

Sorry, but all I get here is text.. I can't read past face value if face is all I'm given..

There is nothing in Roop's message that suggests that isn't hus\her personal opinion.... But ps. It's damn good that isn't your true opinion...

Enviromentalists can SOMETIMES (Im not looking for any fights) be dangerus and stupid people... Like the ones from Green Peace who resently invaded Australias only nuclear reactor out side of Sydney (use only to produce medical and scientific isotopes) to prove that it could be a taget for a few large terrorists groups from other countries (AS IF)... In the process they could have alerted one of hundreds of local Mad people who want to course Armageden or maybe just be remebered of a target that is alot better and easyer to do then the plane hijacking that they where planning instead and probly would have not sucseaded at... They could have just signed a pertistion and sent it to the mister in charge!!!

Is it better to sit back, writing a letter now and then, or to get your message across in the only way possible..
Quote from Se7en, "You can't just tap people on the shoulder anymore and expect them to listen...You've got to hit them with a sledge hammer, and then you'll have their strict, undivided attention.."

Letters, petitions... They're acts of feel good environmentalism.. Like vegetarianism and recycling..
