gamecube vs xbox. thats damn hilarious!!!

i went to this gaming store, and me and my friend heard this guy say that gamecube could match the xbox. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! what bullshit! gamecube games are mainly going to be kiddy games like pokemon stadium and super smash brothers anyway. what do you guys think? like i said, i think its damn hilarious.

no one until the offical release of both systems will know for sure. Til then it is all just peoples opinions. Besides, just because GameCube focuses on more kiddie type games does not mean it can't match the X-Box.

and for my vote...GO NINTENDO!!!

First off I'm neutral,but XBOX is the machine to beat from my hands on experience. PS2 will always have those must haves,we all know that,ICO,Herdy gerdy and so on,but don't count out Gamecube. Gamecube will never match XBOX in the long run,it's a fact,I have come to this conclusion with lots of hands on and in depth research of all that's coming.But it will have high end quality titles that's for sure.

Dragadon dont run away,you have every right to you're opinion.They did partially ruin Zelda. It will be a very good game,but just not earth-shattering like it could have been if it retained it's 2000 Spaceworld look. It will have gameplay and ambiance in it's new form,which by the way is cell-shaded,they now call Zelda "CELLDA".They should have used the cell-shade look for another title,not a flagship one like Zelda.

However Gamecube will have Mario,Metroid,Thornado,Mario carts,too human and a couple others in later 2002,so it's still a machine for that extra top notch 5-6 games a year.

But XBOX is just blazing now and even more so in 2002 with titles such as Panzer DragoonX, Malice,Silent hillX,Devil may cry X, Metal gear 2 X, Matrix, Heavens beast,24 Automatons,Galleon,Picassio,Young olmpians, Kleaners, Orchid,Xavier Fox,Project EGO, Enclave.

With Munch and Halo we are just getting the tip of the iceberg.

What exactly are you comparing when you say Xbox VS Gamecube?

If you mean the specifications then there is no doubt that the Xbox takes the lead. Then you can laugh with Gamecube.

But if you are mesuring the popularity and the salesnumbers, then Gamecube might win the race. (Or only the first battle, it's like Shark said, Xbox will last for way longer). Don't forget the name NITENDO is famous, and the name MICROSOFT makes lots off people automaticly puke.

We'll have to wait and see. But I have a feeling the Xbox will win after all!

Gamecube vs Xbox? Hahaha, that IS funny! Although not in the way you were thinking.

And you say kiddy games, but really the new pokemon games are the only "kiddy" games for GC. Do you mean kiddy as in Rated E? So what! Nintendo games have always been responsible for countless ours of fun by myself and especially with friends. Also, the Gamecube WILL beat xbox. You cannot just look at the matter from a point of view where whichever one you like better will win, you must look at it in the point of view where the more popular one will win. And right now, Nintendo is extremely popular. I am going to get a Gamecube and not an Xbox, because I am really looking forward to Mario Sunshine, Super Monkey Ball, Super Smash Melee, Pikmin, Soul Calibur 2, Wave Race: Blue Storm, Luigi's Mansion, the new Mario Kart, and Too Human. (I was gonna say Turok Evolution, but then realized that Turok games mostly suck, but have some aweome moments. The coolest parts are the weapons and when you kill guys. SO WHY THE F'ING HELL ARE THERE ONLY, LIKE, THREE GUYS PER LEVEL!?!? AAAAGGH!!! Oh yeah, the cerebreal bore is the best weapn in a video game ever.)

For PS2 I am also looking forward to Blood Omen 2 (Soul Reaver sucked, Soul Reaver 2 demo sucked even harder, but Blood Omen 2 looks awesome), Metal Gear Solid 2, Devil May Cry, Silent Hill 2, ICO, GTA3, State of Emergency, Final Fantasy X, THPS3, SSX Tricky, Dark Summit, Jak and Daxter, Maximo, and many others that I want, but can't think of off the top of my head. Also, I know Dark Summit is coming out for xbox too, but why buy an xbox and Dark Summit for $350, when I could just buy Dark Summit for $50?

For Xbox I want Cel Damage, Munch's Oddysee, Project EGO, and Jet Grind Radio Future. Yeah, it sure is "blazing".

Also, Malice is coming to ps2.

Malice,Silent Hill,Devil may cry,Blood omen, and MGS 2 on XBOX will all be pumped up versions of there ps2 counterparts,in other words "Directors cuts". Face it very good on both systems but A bit of an edge on the XBOX.

I'll also be into Gamecube for that handfull of games a year like Mario,and Too human,Thornado,Mario carts,Metroid,perhaps Zelda.It will be a very good extra machine to go along with my PS2 and my main machine the XBOX.

Hey without a PS2 I would'nt get to play ICO...major sleeper along with Herdy gerdy of the year type games,Jax and Daxter,Draken 2, and a few other stellar tittles.

As power goes the XBOX is on steroids comparing it with the other machines,a fact,and an important one that seems to go overlooked sometimes,it's this power that enables developers to get more out of there games,more characters or creatures on screen at once,higher level of details in sets,props,more polygons per character/creature which means more rounded edges and smoothness. More detail to buildings,trees,all models within a set.Textures will be smooth and pixel free,draw distance and environmental effects will be enhanced,volumetric effects and bump-mapping will have an advanced look and feel to them. A.I. will be very much so on a higher level,more vital than anything else,intelligent enemies,with intricate plans of attack and defense,etc,etc...

And hey, if you dont get an XBOX you are going to be missing in on tons of hours of total fun and deep in depth wild and "ODD" gaming,no Munch and Abe for you,"Hello"...."Hello",no XBOX = no MO, come on get with the program. If you cannot afford it don't knock it for that reason,stop fooling yourself's.

What do you think Oddworld went exclusive to XBOX for,common,think about it,OK ready...for the power and potential,these are pro's,you think they don't know what the're doing? Some will say the money,what a joke that is,money, sorry wrong answer.If they were in it for the money only, they would have had the PS2 version out already for about 10 months and would now be gearing up for a "Directors cut" on the XBOX. No they wanted the game in the best possible form possible ( these are true artists with passion for there craft) and the XBOX is what will power them to this,and that's a fact.( Am I right ODDworld....)

It seems that future XBOX titles are always left out of discussions. Let's talk about Malice. HDTV and Dolby surround sound,plus 2 extra levels,higher detail to all textures and a higher level of A.I. along with all those extra effects possible with the XBOX version due to it's power.It's going to be sweet on PS2, but Extra sweet on XBOX,a fact once again.

Besides MO, without an XBOX you will never play the Matrix as it will be intended,the Matrix has a propriety engine set up just for the XBOX,when on the ps2 it will be toned down considerably,not a knock,just another fact.( A lot of the eye candy will be trimmed on the PS2 version) I'm not against PS2,it's just that that is a true circumstance.

How about the games 24 Automatons,Heavens beast,Orchid, Halo,Kleaners,Terminal velocitie's up-coming game of 3rd person bliss,Panzer DragoonX, Enclave,Project Ego.Xavier Fox. Ninja Gaiden another,Strident,and trust me another 5 or 6 major beasts coming.

I've playtested all these games,I've seen concepts,demo versions,talked with people in detail on intricate details on these games, not always discussed at game news sites all the time.Any of the above games mentioned would be the best game ever made in overall substance to this date if out at this time,and the're on the XBOX. I don't care if they are on Dreamcast,or on Saturn,PS2 or Atari,I'm not biased I'm just calling it like I see it,the best games will be on XBOX,and you cannot stick your heads in the ground like an ostrich and think that XBOX will be going anywhere for whatever your reasons are,it's coming and it is "BLAZING".And sure the PS2 and Gamecube will have there time in the sun as well,and I'll be playing them as well,however as systems go the XBOX would be the one system for me if I could have only one.Thankfully I'm a pretty rich bastard and having them all is a better option.

You all think MGS 2 is something,wait till you see Heavens beast,24 Automatons,Project EGO in full motion and in finished form,and even more than those are coming that will rock your worlds.Not just graphics but overall gameplay is the highest level of advancement in these games,and mostly due to power,developers can now do more with the freedom they have,no more being constrained with limited power.

So just have fun and be thankful that you have choices,and if you cannot have a system for whatever reason for now,please dont act like a total moron and belittle the XBOX for those reasons,it just makes you sound so pathetic. I mean you are just fooling yourself,and that's a no win situation.

Bottomline; No XBOX = No munch and ABE, what a loss that would be,face it. 59 days to go until MO and I will be in 7th heaven... and that is a fact!

That's a quote from the promo for Messiah. Remember, Shiny's Daikatana from about a year and a half ago? Who's playing this masterpiece of creativity now?

I'm guessing that the Xbox will come out on top, but there is no such thing as a fact that hasn't already happened. Let's just wait a year or so until all three consoles actually exist as a consumer product.

*agrees with luxor* aye it will be the public that will decide who will come out on top. Its like movies...in the trailors they show you they put all the bests scenes in to catch your interest. But sometimes those scenes are the only thing in the movie worth seeing as the rest of the movie sucks.
I'm not saying X-Box will flop, I'm just saying the publie will decide whether it will succeed or not. Sure those who have had 'hands on' experence say its great and really love it(this is not an attack on you Steel), but they are just part of building up the hype to the game/console. It will mean vertrally nothing once the public gets there hands on them.

Most likely I will end up getting all the consoles, as my boyfriend likes different types of games then me (resident evil and fighting types). But at this moment he hasn't seen any that catch his interest other then one for me (MO), and we both believe in not getting a console just for one game. Yes you did mention Panzeer Dragoon before Steel and yes I do like dragons, but I don't run to get a game just because it has dragons in it(i may be a fanatic but im not that much of a fanatic). Plus I have never played the series before (ok maybe I am being a bit baised here...as the previous Panzeers were on Sega...and I don't care for Sega at all). I am sure it is a great game, but it is not enough to get me to buy an X-Box. Once the X-Box proves itself on the market we'll see....

I agree Luxo,who can deny that. However every game is a different experience. It's easy to pick out Messiah or Daikatana,not all games are underachievers such as those.

In my case however I have the advantage of seeing these games,playtestesting them,and having in-depth conversations with team members on concepts and intricate ideas not yet discussed with the public or E-zine sites.

Another thing I go by are game engines,what are these games running on,what limitations if any do these games have or what advantages do they have.

There are over 1000 games in developement,I would not touch 900 of them if given to me, not even for a minute. I am only interested in that top 20 or so, and up until this new generation of games I could say that only 5 or 6 games really were worthy of my time each year.

You see the XBOX is already here for me,it is a fact already for me,I have playtested and seen demos of everything out there,I have seen concepts of later levels of these games that nearly no one else other than the game's dev team have.

There are games being hyped on the XBOX as well as the other machines that I would not touch if given to me free. I'm talking about the ones that I have seen and played already. I go by my own opinion,not anyone else's.

I agree with the fact that no one should buy a XBOX just for one game. But in time you all will see first hand what I have already seen, much more than one game. For example from what I know Dragadon has two games she would love,MO, and Panzer Dragoon,Panzer dragoon is unknown to her for now,but the premise is very inticing,once you have seen Panzer Dragoon Dragadon you will be hopping onto your favorite dragon and fly off to your local store,you'll see, at least that's my quess.

Luxo: The Grim Fandango lover, wait till you see Orchid,it's under wraps,I have no right to go into detail about this game,but when you see it and find out all about it's gameplay,well.... you'll be feeling really good.

Let's face it, with Project Ego,Xavier Fox, Heavens beast,24 Automatons,Panzer Dragoon,MO,Malice,Orchid, Kleaners,MGS2 X,Matrix 2 X,Enclave, Duality,Strident,Halo,Medal of honor, and of course others, you will be picking that 8-10 titles without a problem.

Most of you may not know much about these games for the time being,and I will allow time to show you what I already know. In time you will find a dozen titles you will totally want,you will see. An XBOX purchase will be very attractive to you soon enough,if not already like Joe the Intern will attest to.

Don't forget that these titles are just this years batch of games. The next gen of next gen gaming developement is just getting underway. These games are just one years worth of gaming,what is in store for the next 4 or 5 years from there.Oh yes I know there are many more than one or two XBOX titles in the works that warrant an XBOX purchase. Someday I will be saying to some of you " Told you so".

Anyway's I respect your opinions,and can only say to myself," They will see soon enough,sharky".

I'm going to dig up some info of more up-coming XBOX games that I already know first hand,and that means my own opinion,not media hype. Little by little you'll see what I have already seen.

The first taste of not having an XBOX comes this November and December. Those with one will be hopping and jumping with Munch and Abe and shooting and flying with Halo,those without an XBOX will be wishing they had one,really that will be the first taste or test of life with or without an XBOX. After that the other major hits are coming. Eventually you shall see what I already know, XBOX is a fun and cool machine.
