Losery... Rrrrrriiiight..... And how exactly was it "losery"? What part did you see? The beginning of the first disk is kind boring, but after that it's all awesomeness. The only bad part is how short it is. Four disks, and only about 7 hours of gameplay...
But other than that, I love that game. The characters are excellent, and they actually feel like real people and not video game characters. The voice acting is the best in any game I've ever seen, and the movies are freaking awesome. I just love the gore and the badass action movie feel to it. The story is very good, but hard to follow sometimes. The game itself doesn't revolve around action, but around solving puzzles. And believe me, you'll want to solve every puzzle as quick as you can, so you can be treated to another top-notch movie sequence. The movies are the game's highest point, and there's about one and a half hours of them. I love when Hana takes off her towel, revealing her naked self to distract a guard, who is apparently very "happy", smiling like an idiot, looking up and down quickly, only to have his neck snapped a couple seconds later buy one of Hana's partners, Deke. Also, they said the word "shit" three count them THREE times in the game. I was like, "Holy shit, they said shit!" I really like the part when this lady transforms into a demon lady, and Hana screams, "I always knew you were a bitch from hell!" I was all like, "Woah! That was cool!" And I especially like the part when Hana walks into a meat locker (this is a part that you are playing, not watching), to find one of her two partners, Glas, hanging from a hook with his arm chopped off. I was like, "Dude! Sweet!" It's something you have to see to understand what I mean.
But of course, all of this couldn't be fully appreciated without awesome visuals, and Fear Effect has awesome visuals. They are the reason the game is four discs long. Streaming backgrounds give the game a cinematic feel, and the characters themselves look very anime-esque.
I give the game a 9/10 for good puzzles, great graphics, an awesome story, and amazingly, sadisticly sweet movies.
Now Pinkhaired... What did you NOT like about the game?
