Yes. Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers is back and even more 90's then ever.

Check out the redone intro.

To play up the show, they've remastered the broadcast and thrown in Adam West Batman-style sound-effects and redone a lot of the more dated props with more sparkly and ridiculous computer effects.

I think it's a great idea; nobody cares about power rangers other then the originals, so let's just go with that.

I think I watched the Lightning Rescue one or whatever it was called when I was younger. There was some ridiculous 'each limb made out of X vehicles ranger Y uses' Megazord that was just huge badass trains slapped together into some fucking robot box shitter. It was awesome.

I'm pretty sure I thought I liked them for the first four years of my life, but I don't actually remember anything about them or owning any of their merchandise save for some stickers I plastered all over my Erect-A-Set case.

Looking back at them now, I don't think I could have ever liked them. Even as an infant I can't see myself watching something so incredibly stupid. Even after reaching that age of semi-adulthood where you learn to re-appreciate the things you enjoyed as a kid, I could never ever sit through a whole episode of Power Rangers. The only redeeming feature was the over-the-top, hilariously bad monster costumes, and even those are only good for a short titter before I just change the channel.

I used to have a few Power Rangers figures. I had a red ranger who had two heads, one masked one un-masked. One head was hidden in the figure and would swap when you pressed a button on his belt.

The other figures were of the original group (Although I was missing one) and could transform into their robot form by a bit of folding and clipping them all together.

The MM Power Rangers was the only Power Rangers I watched. Aside from Time Force. Time Force's Green Ranger was awesome.

Super Sentai, as Power Rangers is called in Japan, began broadcast in 1975.

Voltron is the thrown-together adaptations of Beast King Go-Lion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. it was aired in 1981.

So no, not really. Also, Voltron was nowhere near as popular in Japan, it is one of the lesser-liked super robot shows.

I had those! Only my red ranger's arm broke off once when I dropped it. Happened to another figure I had of one of the monsters- and to the replacement one I bought. I was a fucking clumsy child then.

I loved the original Power Rangers. I stopped caring after the one where they went into space, as if I remember right that sorta ended the whole original story. Didn't like that Turbo series with all the cars and the annoying kid either.

I remember Time Force was when I decided to stop liking it. It was only good for eating up 30 minutes to wait for the schoolbus anyway.

Because the sound of a word written with a tilde behind it is kind of elongated and cutesy.

For example,

Oh Master~ would sound like Oh, Maaaaaaster....
or No, don't touch me there! No~ would sound like No, don't touch me there! Noooooo!

I guess it's kinda like etc etc, only instead of a continuation of what you're saying, it applies to the last syllable or noise as it continues.

When I was in Elementary school, from grade 2-4 there was this squad of incredibly stupid kids who basically bullied people because they were all poor and stupid.
The thing is, people caught on to the fact that they were constantly reenacting shit from Power Rangers. I mean every chance they had they were leaping around and punching the air.
Now, let's see:
One of them was transferred to a different school when he was sent out into the hall and shoved his pencil in an outlet. He was shocked.

Another left of his own volition because he eventually got on the nerves of my friend Tony who up until that point was regarded as a quiet, sensitive kid who wasn't worth pushing around because he was so good natured.
Tony beat the shit out of that guy. I mean, blood and stuff. Dayum.
