Happy oddworld abe's oddysee speedruns

I saw a antdgar3 speedrun and I was thinking it's was pretty nice, but here is my speedrun! "OAO: RuptureFarms Speedrun" I don't using any cheats or codes to do this speedrun! These two "weird" tricks are glitches. Enjoy whit nice music

Possibly I am making on scrabanian speedrun and temple too, but maybe it's abortive, because in scrabanian speedrun it's like a same what LoStraniero91 did, but there is one new trick.. and it's glitch too.

To record the audio is realy easy. You should put a normal cinch-cabel into your audio in- and output. Then play the game and record easily the sound by any record-tool. =)

I sometimes wonder how there can be such glitches in the game. Was the development team testing their game at all? Anyway, nice work :)

I don't think you realise how the game would have looked like if there haven't been any test at all...

Sorry but I don't think you to have enough knowledge on software development to question my view.

I do know they've tested their game. The point was they haven't tested it *enough* as there exists that many bugs. My previous post told it with an exaggeration, which you should have understood, since any human being isn't that stupid you mentioned.

Sorry about the offtopic, Fastability. Just needed to correct this little misunderstanding.

Sorry but I don't think you to have enough knowledge on software development either, Grandi. It is a fundamental principle of software development that it is impossible to remove 100% of bugs from any non-trivial piece of software. Ultimately it comes down to a judgement of when the software is considered acceptably stable.

I said nothing about removing 100% of bugs so please don't give such image. My point was that they could have remove more bugs because there is still so many. Those what I've seen in AO/AE walkthrought- and speedrun videos, would have been easily fixed if the engine were well programmed in the first place.

But it is stable enough, so it doesn't matter. It's not like they spoil the game, is it? Or are you just going to reply with "You know fuck all about software development"?

I didn't say that it's a bad thing, or did I? You should read my posts with care before replying.

If someone questions my skills, the one should first prove his own.

But I see your point. AO and AE are perfect games, and that fact shouldn't be doubt. All right.

Oh, but I did read your post with care. The point is that it wasn't exactly worth commenting. And no, I do know fuck all about software development. You don't need to know everything about software development to know enough about it to get the general gist. So if you'd read Nate's post with care, you would have realised that he didn't imply that you did say that 100% of the bugs should be removed before release. His point was that the game was stable enough to be commercially acceptable.

You're missing the point. You are saying that you had an opinion on Nate's post. You appear to be saying that your opinion is that the post meant something other than what it did. That isn't an opinion. That's missing the point.

No. It is a fact that someone might misinterpret it as you did. Not an opinion. If you did, someone else might. You MUST learn to differentiate between opinion and fact.

As WoF pointed out, you're yet to prove your own skills. As for myself, an undergraduate degree in Software Engineering and currently organising to do a PhD in Information Technology really should be enough to prove that I know what I'm talking about.

As for the glitches, in the many times I have played the Abe games, I can think of only one time that I've spotted a glitch. The ones that are presented in the forum are rare and generally only appear to people looking for them.

Skills have nothing to do with this, as your original claim is bogus anyway. In eleven years of playing Abe’s Oddysee in all sorts of ways, I have only twice encountered glitches without setting out to find them, and the glitches that do exist are not always replicable.

Then you have quite different experience from Oddworld. On me, I often had to go again some places, because bugs messed my game. That was very annoying, but luckily the games are so damn good that they encouraged to start again. Maybe I just had bad luck, I don't know.

EDIT: And yes. Glitch-seeking really is fun if you want to find them.

That, or a scuffed disc. Abe's Oddysee is clearly one of those games where the smallest scuff can result in an abundance of glitches. I've been playing both Oddysee and Exoddus since Station Magazine's second demo disc, I've beaten the PS versions, the PC versions, the Steam versions, and the only time I've encountered glitches - a fair deal, too - is on a friend's scuffed PS copy of AO, and on the Steam version too, sadly. I don't go out of my way to look for them, though.

Oh, wait, I'm forgetting one amusing ****-up in Abe's Exoddus, Soulstorm, Zulag 12. The second slig you encounter, you slap it, it'll be stuck in the wall and rendered completely harmless. It's perfectly replicable.
