Sony Presents: Clock Tower, the god damned movie.

:
A movie is coming for Human Entertainment & Sunsoft’s classic “Clock Tower” survival horror games, which are now owned by Capcom.

Well, god damn, I am excited. The movie is planned to come out during 2009.

I reckon it will be about as good as the Silent Hill film. In other words, not very good.

If Scissor Man isn't in it, I am not seeing it. Nor am I seeing it if he is in it. They always screw up when they try to make a game into a film.

I don't know... I'm not really a hardcore gamer so not having that background like so many, seeing a movie that is based on a game doesn't carry with it as much/or as many preconceived 'expectations' with it.

I saw Silent Hill and didn't have any specific complaints about it, I just enjoyed it for what it was. I don't remember there being any specific strokes of moviemaking or storytelling genius in it, it was just a creepy horror. (Plus I watched it at the El Rancho Drive-In theater in Reno so it added to the experience)

On a loosely related note, Lorne Lanning once was quoted saying something to the effect of 'In games, players are quick to note how brilliant the graphics and CG realism are, while in movies, viewers are quick to criticize the CG realism for looking fake.'

I don't think this has anything to do with the disappointment gamers feel when a game is made into a movie, but it is still an interesting point!

In films you have to ape the natural environment and materials already present yourself, while in games you control the entire world.

Turning a movie into a game fails 99% of the time. I'm not sure vice versa though.
